In the kitchen with summer harvest - fig, strawberry, gooseberry, blackberry and elderberry!

It was a very productive day in the commercial kitchen at Forever Foods Farm. I had steam extracted all of our gooseberry harvest yesterday, and turned that into the most delicious gooseberry syrup ever! I also steam extracted a double batch of blackberries and almost got two gallons of pure black berry extract to make into syrup tomorrow. I also had some Agriberry strawberries and brown turkey figs from our farm in the fridge being sugared and that became Anne’s fig and strawberry preserves as well. Lastly, we had hand harvested some early elderberries popped that in the freeze dryer for freeze dried elderberries to use in teas and make into packages to sell. Meanwhile BI managed to harvest over 6 pounds of blackberries and just over a half a pound of blueberries to add to our stash! What a great day on the farm! Forever Foods Farm. July 18, 2023.
