I never seen a 100 year old person mentally is so sharp after my Grand Father who died at the age of 110 years in good mental and physical health (never smoked, over eating, walking & praying).. My dad is 87 years and still in good health. Study shows most people who prays regularly lives longer than who does not. God bless this doctor and the pastor.

My grandmother lived to 105, her siser 109 and both ate anything they wanted, had no broken bones, square danced every Saturday night, had a little red wine before dinner each night, they even ate gravy and homemade biscuits. They did not smoke or drink hard liquor.

My step father lived to 101 and smoked most his life, ate all fat. He was amazing. His main thing was his faith and a easy going demeanor. Always joking and lighthearted. I’m not buying the vegetarian diet. I’m happy this man is still going strong but all his advice needs to be questioned. You will live as long as God allows you.
You're right. It's counterintuitive to think veganism is optimal diet but requires you to supplement calcium. Vitamin D and even iron. One can thrive on pure animal-based diet but good health is extremely difficult to achieve with pure vegan diet.
In his age of 100, his ears are still clear, his mind is still sharp and he look and feel not like his age, compared to those who are in their 80’s and up, wow! We really need to listen and take heed

My great uncle whose name was Fred Ward was a SDA missionary to the Pitcairn Islands for 23yrs. He lived to 100. I saw him when he was 90 when I was 18. I hadn't seen him for years before then. I was amazed how fit and sprightly he was.

I am from India and turned vegan from vegetarian in Oct, 2021 after hearing a lecture by Doctor John McDougall I am a long distance runner and feel the difference after eliminating dairy and extra oil. I am 66. My father is 93 and also knows the benefits of exercise. He too started exercise ( running) in middle age. My dad has just authored a book :Fit at any age (Air Marshal PV Iyer, retired) and tells the reader how to live a long productive life.
I knew Dr Scharffenberg from Liberia in 2002 March to April. He preach there for two weeks and a church was established called King Emmanuel. And he became a great help to me especially after our last war until i was told he's no more. Upon seeing him to day speaks volume.
Dr John is definitely right I lost 15kgs in two weeks without realising because of 30 minutes exercise, fruits and veg diet, I felt good, smart in every sense of the word. I really love this talk
15kg (33 pounds) “weight” loss in two weeks? Did you cut off an arm? Sounds like you just got dehydrated. You need to speak to a doctor or dietician or someone like that to find out how your body works in terms of calories in and out. Weight regulation is not that simple, but you can learn about metabolism and catabolism etc.when you have grasped the basic concepts.

I’m not obese, don’t smoke, and have no health issues except what covid brought on but work 9-10 hours a day as an accountant sitting at a computer. My dad is 88, does stock analysis, plays the piano and flute, plays Scrabble with mom, and walks 3 miles a day. My issue is a shot of gin and pickled herring and nuts after work. Thank you for the great video. I also fast a lot. No wonder my brain is dull- giving up the gin.

I was going to the gym about 5 days a week but I moved to the country nearly a year & a half ago & due to the distance & the price of gas I stopped going. I eat healthy & fast often, so I didn’t concern myself over not exercising, but I am glad that the Doctor told us how important it is. I have no idea what I did wrong? I’m a bit leery to try that again! But, my daughter gave me a rooster & a couple hens & since I did so well with them & they were producing eggs that I was able to share with others (as I’m not crazy about eggs) & I enjoyed caring for the chickens. I decided to get a bunch of chicks. I figured that when things get desperate, maybe I could use the eggs to barter for some vegetables. Now I have 34 chickens to take care of & lots of eggs😊But, let me tell you chicken’s are addictive. I am crazy about them & I so enjoy watching them interact.

My grandmother's youngest brother is also 100 years old. He is a retired family physician, military doctor, and gastroenterelogist. These days he makes himself busy with plants, puzzles, and drawing mandalas, to name a few. He is still sharp.

I like your advice - and agree with most -- but I do NOT want to live a dull life and live in fear of eating and drinking - moderation and enjoyment seems the solution - I am 82 now and look towards a long future in good health in sensible moderation

Good morning Mr.Batchelor I am agree that Dr.Scharffenberg and II used to live in California but my husband past away and back to home in Okinawa and I always do my walking and stretching and eat more vegetables and I don’t smoke and no drink . I never seen a 100 year old person mentally is so sharp after my Grand Father who died at the age of 110 years in good mental and physical health (never smoked, over eating, walking & praying).. My dad is 87 years and still in good health. Study shows most people who prays regularly lives longer than who does not. God bless this doctor and the pastor.

My grandmother lived to 105, her siser 109 and both ate anything they wanted, had no broken bones, square danced every Saturday night, had a little red wine before dinner each night, they even ate gravy and homemade biscuits. They did not smoke or drink hard liquor.

What a great guy. Personally I'm not worried about when God decides I've fulfilled my life purpose for him whether I'm 50 or 100. Have I loved others with all my heart, have I shown kindness and compassion.

My step father lived to 101 and smoked most his life, ate all fat. He was amazing. His main thing was his faith and a easy going demeanor. Always joking and lighthearted. I’m not buying the vegetarian diet. I’m happy this man is still going strong but all his advice needs to be questioned. You will live as long as God allows you.
You're right. It's counterintuitive to think veganism is optimal diet but requires you to supplement calcium. Vitamin D and even iron. One can thrive on pure animal-based diet but good health is extremely difficult to achieve with pure vegan diet.

My great uncle whose name was Fred Ward was a SDA missionary to the Pitcairn Islands for 23yrs. He lived to 100. I saw him when he was 90 when I was 18. I hadn't seen him for years before then. I was amazed how fit and sprightly he was.

I am from India and turned vegan from vegetarian in Oct, 2021 after hearing a lecture by Doctor John McDougall
I am a long distance runner and feel the difference after eliminating dairy and extra oil.
I am 66.
My father is 93 and also knows the benefits of exercise. He too started exercise ( running) in middle age. My dad has just authored a book :Fit at any age (Air Marshal PV Iyer, retired) and tells the reader how to live a long productive life.
I knew Dr Scharffenberg from Liberia in 2002 March to April. He preach there for two weeks and a church was established called King Emmanuel. And he became a great help to me especially after our last war until i was told he's no more. Upon seeing him to day speaks volume.
Dr John is definitely right I lost 15kgs in two weeks without realising because of 30 minutes exercise, fruits and veg diet, I felt good, smart in every sense of the word. I really love this talk
15kg (33 pounds) “weight” loss in two weeks? Did you cut off an arm? Sounds like you just got dehydrated. You need to speak to a doctor or dietician or someone like that to find out how your body works in terms of calories in and out.
Weight regulation is not that simple, but you can learn about metabolism and catabolism etc.when you have grasped the basic concepts.
Fruit is full of sugar. Lots of fruit is not healthy.
This retired "doctor" should be ashamed of himself & hang his head. Demonizing fats etc. Just five minute look at life of a new born baby suckling real fatty breast milk is a clue to real life foods.
We don't need ANY veg.

I’m not obese, don’t smoke, and have no health issues except what covid brought on but work 9-10 hours a day as an accountant sitting at a computer. My dad is 88, does stock analysis, plays the piano and flute, plays Scrabble with mom, and walks 3 miles a day. My issue is a shot of gin and pickled herring and nuts after work. Thank you for the great video. I also fast a lot. No wonder my brain is dull- giving up the gin.

Wow, what an awesome interview. I am convinced that I need to get back to exercising! I was going to the gym about 5 days a week but I moved to the country nearly a year & a half ago & due to the distance & the price of gas I stopped going. I eat healthy & fast often, so I didn’t concern myself over not exercising, but I am glad that the Doctor told us how important it is. @@statutesofthelord I tried gardening for the first time after moving here last year. I spent money that I couldn’t afford & I ended up killing everything that I planted. I have no idea what I did wrong? I’m a bit leery to try that again!
But, my daughter gave me a rooster & a couple hens & since I did so well with them & they were producing eggs that I was able to share with others (as I’m not crazy about eggs) & I enjoyed caring for the chickens. I decided to get a bunch of chicks. I figured that when things get desperate, maybe I could use the eggs to barter for some vegetables. Now I have 34 chickens to take care of & lots of eggs😊But, let me tell you chicken’s are addictive. I am crazy about them & I so enjoy watching them interact.
@@vmcgee54 I’ll have to drive around this area & see if I can find someplace to walk, that’s safe. My road doesn’t have sidewalks nor enough room to walk along the roads & people drive like it’s an expressway! But, you are right, walking does sound like a good alternative.

Good morning Mr.Batchelor I am agree that Dr.Scharffenberg and II used to live in California but my husband past away and back to home in Okinawa and I always do my walking and stretching and eat more vegetables and I don’t smoke and no drink . I have a high blood pressure and high cholesterol and take a medication and doing all right and enjoy the trip to US and mainland Japan.thanks Dr.Scharffenberg.
