I've noticed that my Caique scratches when he is annoyed.... Like when I tell him to poop when he doesn't have to go.... Caiques are such a Blast ! It's like having a slapstick comedian in your house everyday.
Oue white bellied caique also itches herself when she gets nervous. I thought it was just her so it's very interesting to learn that your bird does the same
They need a pretty good sized cage for perches and lots of toys. As for getting along with other birds, they're kinda jerks to other birds. Especially if they weren't bought at the same time. 😅

How soon do the caiques learn to talk? Mine is 6 months old and has started whistling
They normally can't really talk, but when they do, it's like a broken whisper. Some can talk well, but its rare. They can whistle better.
