That final scene, where the boys are finally communicating and Ben admits that he needs professional help, it was just so powerful, and so necessary. For too long, Ben functioned as Walford's punching bag, with trauma after trauma after trauma. The human brain can only carry so much pain. I remember thinking, for a long time, that Ben was entirely capable of recovery. He wasn't beyond help, he just needed a break, he needed to take that first step to seeking help. It was very validating, watching this, because it does help him, and we knew that it would. He admits to Callum, in future episodes, that seeking out an actual mental health professional was exactly what he needed.
