Phil's ability to repeatedly destroy Ben's life is quite the talent. Imagine threatening your emotionally fragile , paternal love craving-child, with killing yourself, or having them help you kill someone else? Phil's always plumbing new depths.

Someone who is worthy of Callum. I really really hope Ben tells Callum about Sharon's baby, he might be able to help or offer some support. Callum, Lola, Jay and Lexi need to lead Ben away from all the toxicity (Phil, Sharon, Keanu) and be a proper family. But this is Eastenders we're talking about. I've still not fully recovered from Jack not getting his happy ending with Ronnie!!!

I can’t put into words how I feel about that end scene, like it was so soft and if there wasn’t more going on I would be the happiest. But knowing Ben is so conflicted atm bc of not wanting to let his dad down and that they’re probably going to have a temporary “break up” at Christmas 🤧
I hope Ben comes clean to Callum about the Daddy problem and chooses what he is building with Callum over Phil's problem because he's going to need his snuggle bunny when the truth comes out and his family get blown apart. 😭😭 Don't see a very merry Christmas for the Mitchell family.
I don't think thats going to happen tbh. Ben always keeps things to himself (goes back to his childhood - I think he always feels alone with his problems) and given that this involves his dad, it just complicates it further. He's just going to want Callum as far away from the fallout as possible, but even he tells him the truth, that won't happen. :(

To be fair to Ben he didn't lie to Callum, he did say his dad being difficult was part of the reason for his bad day. He just didn't go into details about what Phil was doing to be difficult. Ben did save Jack from being burnt to death.
As much as I would love for Ben to cut Phil out of his life for good, it's not gonna be that easy. As someone with a toxic father, I can safely say that familial loyalty is a powerful thing. Choosing to abandon them is extremely difficult. I sympathise greatly with Ben.
I get why some people find the Ben/Phil relationship frustrating but I find it incredibly realistic. Ben is a lot of things but Ben is loyal to a fault and Ben loves his dad. People who expect Ben to just cut off his relationship with Phil completely don't understand how hard it is to cut off toxic people in your life, especially if it's a parent and especially if it's a parent like Phil who is masterful at dangling just enough amount of love and attention to give Ben hope. People should be realistic with regards to how Ben is going to handle this, he cares and loves for Callum but his relationship with his dad is complicated and if Ben ends up having to choose, it's not going to be Callum he chooses unfortunately. As a lover of angst, personally I love it and I am really already super into the way they're handling this because it's so character-driven and it's not as simple as Ben is Bad and Callum is Good and Ben must choose between being a Bad Boy, etc. Instead it's far more complex than that and delves into the source of a lot of Ben's issues - his father.

Ben will either learn how and when to tell his Dad where to get off or he will lose every love interest. No spouse is going to take a backseat to their in-laws. I have watched this enough times to realize the show made a mistake. There is no blood on the back of Ben's shirt when he gets the beer from the fridge, but then it is there when he is on the couch with Callum.
