It was my first attempt and I got the F1 visa. I got approved this last Tuesday 30 May 2023. I went with no Travel History. My passport was with no any visa. I didn't smile even one time. I didn't see anything funny. I was so serious I couldn't fake a smile but was just focused with eyes contact to the consuler officer while responding to the questions. I have strong ties back home. That's why I got my visa approved. I am employed for 6 years now in the same company. I am a Logistics Manager with a good salary. I will pay my studies by myself and got 25% of scholarship from the university. I am Married. I have no siblings or parents in the US.

One of the best I have seen in so many I have watched, it's not something to be afraid of, staying positive helps a whole lot. Like some people say, oh don't go to Lagos if you don't have funding, don't do this, don't do that, just be yourself, do your part, and let God do the rest.

I personally think it's better to give a lot of information (of course not more than necessary) because not all visa officers have the patience to ask follow up question and they have so little time to make a decision so don't give them a reason to stress.

Honestly I doubt, if they don’t give admission how will you know you got into the school then, again calling all these schools and getting first hand information is the best

What if you have a full scholarship(graduate assistantship), how do you answer the question "who is sponsoring you?"

Hello so if you have assistantship. I would suggest you still get a sponsor because the person asking questions will see the assistantship on your I-20 but will still ask about the sponsor cause they believe you should have plans just in case something happens

If your graduate assistantship is enough to cover your tuition and living expenses, then u don't need a sponsor. You only need a sponsor if there is a deficit on your Cost of Attendance

If they are to contribute, then it should all go into one account, and the owner of the account would be labeled as your sponsor. It could be your uncle, aunty, siblings. But proof of funds is very important

Hi dear, I wish I could give a video on that but I do not have all the details concerning date picking. All I know based on my experience is that, getting date in Nigeria can be frustrating mostly because it’s crowded, so a far later date might be given initially but if your school is to resume before the date given, then you apply for an emergency date.
