I'm an Englishman living in Perth, Australia where there don't do BIR curries. Just cooked this up and have a massive smile on my face, game changer!!! Great recipe and method, thank you.
Ceylon Curry is my favourite Latif and I had searched on uTube and couldn’t find a good recipe to make at home but yours is spot on for me!! I’m lucky enough to have a good takeaway nearby that makes a great one but I prefer lamb Ceylon with slow cooked lamb. I’ve. Tried it with large King Prawns too. Thank you for this fabulous tuition.
Hi Mr L. You are my amazing mentor. I made this for friends who wanted a bit of heat and warmth. This was nothing short of genius. They took what was left home🤘🤣🤘👍. Don’t stop with such fantastic teaching. You are reaching us. 👍
Perfect timing Latif doing a dinner party this weekend using just your recipes this Saturday so will do this dish. Will hold you to your promise though. So far you have not let me down dude. Thanks again, you really need to do an ebook, I will be the first to buy it.
Must say i've never had this dish and i have tryed a lot over the years . I will be giveing this one a try at home and off a menu too. Thanks again for all the great dishes that you have shown on here and keep them comeing fella 👍
Beautiful. JUST when I think you can't go higher in your chef skills, to continue to amaze.Bless you .I've learnt so much .thank you.We want a book by you..Also you could open a cooking class.I would be first in-line, joined by the thousand others. Thank you again.
A year on from this video and ive just watched. So just finished cooking it today, and I used fresh young coconut. And I've got to tell you it's the best indian meal I've ever eaten. I can not explain how much ive enjoyed eating it. My go to curry only if you don't have another up your sleeve.
Ahh at least I know what's for dinner tomorrow, salivating just thinking about it. The funny thing is, the wee man asked tonight if we could have curry for dinner tomorrow. YES no problem son. Love it. Thanks Latif
Hi Latif, I made your base gravy and chicken ceylon yesterday. Wow…we could not believe how good it tasted. You certainly kept your promise! We have been living in Australia for a long time and miss our BIR curries. Thank you for the inspiration and the know how to make this wonderful dish. I will be doing more! Cheers
Love your content! My step dad introduced me to your channel and i havnt had this much fun in the kitchen for a long time! Will definitely be booking a table for a surprise present to my step dad later in the year!
I am not indian and to me all the Indian recipes look the same with almost the same ingredients, and I love them all. In my country indian restaurants are very expensive and fancy.
@@rehan2118 I am from Iran, I visited New Delhi, I love indian food, I try making them, my family loves indian food spicy and delicious. The best food.
I am in love! I have not really ever cooked curries properly- maybe only a half dozen times in my life ( 67) , why? Because they were too anglicised - anyone remember the dried vesta curries you had to reconstitute with water. And the meat was like little mummified fibrous scraps dotted about amongst raisins? Raisins - where did that ingredient hail from I wonder. Anyway That was about my mark 😞 I do so love Indian food and my attempts turned out to be a blasphemy on a plate. But now, my goodness your recipes and demos have made an old lady cry with pleasure. I've got a new lease if life in the kitchen. Thank you so much . Ps what do you say before lighting the gas And when you put the food in the heated oil? Is it a blessing or thanks? What ever it is I think it is beautiful. I have decided that before I cook I will also thank God for the blessing of food. It is such a small act of being mindful that there are so many people who are not so privileged. Your video had turned out for me, to be so much more than a recipe. Bless you.
bangin bro! you are a legend Latif! thank you so much for sharing all your secrets! you have brought the take aways into our homes, you need to start a recipe book asap before you give away ALL your secrets lol
Making this tonight and this will be the fourth dish i have tried from Latif, and so far they have tasted fantastic Butter chicken✅ Mutton curry (with lamb]✅ Sag panir✅ Base gravy (i know its not a dish but my god its tasty) Tomato puree (made ice cubes with it so they are ready to rock when needed) And now chicken cylon So far without a doubt the best food I have ever made is thanks to Latif And proof for me is when my girlfriend licks the plate clean!
You have got to make this guy's tomato puree. propper nice. These videos are amazing. Indian food is the best in the world. I live in Asia and nothing compares to this. When you can taste every single spice, you know it's good. Cheers mate!

It looks gorgeous but it's the first I Heard of this recipe being a 80 Year old Sri Lankan whose cooked For over 60vyears. But it is a great recipe chef.

Also, where would you not recommend marinating and frying the paneer (and using plain instead)? i worry about the marinated paneer conflicting with the main recipe ingredients. Thank you!
Your recipe is quite interesting, here in York, Yorkshire, nearly all the Indian restaurants cook a Ceylon with Okra, about three or four, usually on the menu as "cooked with Bhindi lady's fingers", is okra a vegetable that is a usual veg to use in many parts of the country do you know? 😊

Legend! Your ginger and garlic mix is well worth the effort. Just needs to be double bagged in the freezer! How important is the chicken marinade? Could I just poach the thighs in the base gravy for a short cut?
big pot of base is on the cards, portion it out and into the freezer she will go. Mixing the marinade spices and yoghurt first, then add to the meat saves time.
