Its VERY EASSSYYY to change the brake pads on a Mercedes ML W164 if you guys follow the steps in this video, I have also listed the parts and supplies in the video description. Hope it helps all Mercedes ML W164 owners, Thank you and your welcome!
Re: Brake Pad Grease. Because you didn't change gloves and applied too much on areas to the back of the pads that wasn't needed, you got grease on the pad surface and will have excess grease flinging around once in motion. That grease is meant to be very lightly applied since it is waterproof, but it can make a mess inside the wheels and DEGRADE the brake pad surface. Poor braking and improper bed-in can result. Next time, be more careful and take your time to change gloves. Also, you should've used brake cleaner instead of a paper towel to clean the brake calipers and rotors. You should have also either replaced the caliper bolts or cleaned the threads and apply anti-seize to them.
WOW 🤩 What a clear and concise explanation and demonstration. As a woman, it’s such a relief to understand what’s going to happen when your mechanic tells its time to do a break job. Thank Y*O*U for sharing your knowledge!
Your welcome, I am really happy this video helped you out Thank you so much for subscribing and sharing the channel, I really appreciate it! Have a blessed day
@@MrCARman Thank you. I found Bosch semi metallic pads for front wheels but not for the rear. Most stores have Bosch ceramic pads for the rear. Can I use ceramic pads? Thank you.
Hey! quick question…i changed winter tires to summer tires on my 2013 ml550 yesterday. It seemed like the rims sat on a very small amount of material to mount before putting the bolts in…is that normal?????
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you, I really appreciate the great comment! Thank you once again for subscribing to the channel and sharing the video! Have a great day!

I'm not sure how you got those bolts out with e-Torx, but they should be hex. 9mm for the front caliper bolts, and 7mm for the rear caliper bolts.
Yep that’s correct my 2007 ml350 was a 9mm hex bit and I used on a 3/8 ratchet
Thanks man I will tackle this job next weekend

Grease on the backside?
I've heard of putting grease on the caliper sliders but not the outside of brakepad...
What for?
Paint the calipers and the hub to get rid of the nasty rust
The client liked the look of how it was aha

Yes it’s on my channel
T45 socket ? I thought it needed a 3/8 11mm Hex Head socket
On my 2007 ML350 it was a 9mm hex but I used on a ratchet 3/8
Good work!
