Thank you! You are apart of my crochet journey, and now if I choose to knit then I know I have a good resource. You are a good teacher, and I really wish there was more we could do to send our appreciation. Never stop creating. The way you communicate is very inspiring and understandable. Anyway, ❤ u and all u do
I recently started knitting to cope with my mom's and sister's passing and this video is a great help for me to learn more.. thank you for making this!
I only know how to crochet but I ABSOLUTELY love the finished look of knitted pieces. Your tutorials have been really helpful so far, so I hope I'll be able to finally learn how to knit. Tysm ikoxun!!
i want to knit so badly but the purl stitch is the bane of my existence 😭 i’m gonna try again but goodness, it’s a pain. this gave me a bit more motivation to go at it again
Damn, thank you a lot! It was my 2024 goal to learn how to knit, but i never had the motivation to watch 50 different, long tutorials. This helps so much!!! ❤
This guide was immaculate. I love how cute the intro and outro were, but mostly it's so well organized and has so much helpful background information. I'm just starting knitting and have been getting frustrated that the basics are not usually included in begin to knit information (like yarn weights and why they are!). I especially found the 'how to count rows' useful and the picking up the drop stitches bit. Thank you so much for sharing!
I watched this video religiously, although I've been knitting for 20 years. I learned from my mom and from Soviet books and was sooooo lost with terms in English, but it turned out there're much more things new to me (casting methods are completely different from what I've learned). Your video was just perfect for me!
I've been crocheting for about 40 years, but was always too intimidated to try knitting. I decided this month that I want to learn to knit. I've been watching UA-cam videos, but nothing gave me the whole picture until I stumbled across this video. It is AMAZING!!!! Thank you so much for putting this together. You are awesome 🥰
Wow, this is an extremely amazing video tutorial! The sound, the music doesn’t play when you’re speaking, the breakdown of the information, the sequencing of the information, excellent description of each step, well done zooming in of demonstration, kudos to everyone who made this video a reality. 👏🏻
I can't even tell you how much I LOVE this video! You are an AMAZING teacher and your voice is soothing. The description in the top left of the video telling me what you're working on at the moment is immensely helpful. I just really appreciate you and all the hard work that went into this. Thank you for the amazing content and keep up the great work!
pay attention when buying your interchangeable needle set! i bought my first set as a beginner, and i didnt know what to look for. they ends of the needles, where they're supposed to connect to the cables, flared instead of getting smaller, making them unusable. its pretty obvious to a knitter who knows their stuff, but watch out for that!
This is super complete, thank you so much for sharing this! Yarn for me is already expensive so free resources are really appreciated, and your work is really priceless, you're so kind and generous, this is pure gold!💖
Thank you so much for the guide, I'm a crocheter and wanting to start knitting and I just realized how different they are, but I'll be a master knitter and crocheter sooner thanks to this vid
I come from a long line of professional knitters. My cousin and I joke that we are being generous when we combine our “talent” as an 8th as good as our grandmother (she could smoke a cigarette, drink iced tea, watch tv and have a conversation while doing the heel of an argyle sock). I just realized that I somehow have been doing a combination of English and continental. I learned continental forgot a lot of it and somehow started English. Thank you for helping me realize what I’m doing.
Thank you for this comprehensive video! I've been knitting most of my life, but not well! I mainly crochet but am looking more towards knit projects. This was a great guide to fill in some blanks, including that I am knitting wrong (I've been knitting into the back loop and wrapping the yarn the wrong way for purling)! I've gotten really use to this but I think I'll get myself in trouble if I continue more intricate patterns. I'm very glad that I watched this video, and have a better understanding of some of the more complicated stitches. Thanks again!
Wow, this is so incredibly helpful and concise - thank you! My mom taught me to knit as a kid and I'm trying to get back into it now, but it's been so long so this was such a great refresher
I’m so glad I found this video! I’ve come back to this comprehensive guide because you explain absolutely everything very clearly. I was trying to piece together info from different UA-camrs based on issues I’ve ran into, and the inconsistency in teaching style made it hard for me to understand. I’ll def keep coming back to this one!
I keep coming back to this video again and again! It’s honestly so so well put together! I am a crocheter and you’re the reason why I know how to knit basic panels (for the moment) thank you for teaching me a new hobby 🥹
OMG I LOVE YOUR VIDS ❤❤❤you are one of my absolute fav crocheter/knitter ive been planning on learning to knit now i can be sure that i have the best teacher to teach me 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Yes omg, I learned how to do the basic knit stitch last month and I wanted to experiment with other stitches. Your ideas are so inspiring and so is your hardwork❤
ugh i love you!!! i started crocheting right before you started making videos, and now i just started knitting and found this! thank you thank you thank you
As a fellow lefty I have to go so slow lol but somehow I end up with too much space between my needles when actually stitching and I don't know how to stop doing that
One of the most underrated videos on youtube!!! Seriously. I have a question- if you haven't done so yet, would you consider making a video with a guide on MANY different methods of casting on and binding off, with swatches and explanations on when and where to use them? Not knowing how choose these when and where, along with patterns not telling you which ones to use was the ultimate reason I drifted away from knitting many years ago
I’ve loved this video and I like seeing how other people knit, I learned as a young kid with my grandma and picked it up in later years now as a great screens free hobby. I do my long tail cast on differently so it’s cool to see the different methods and see what other folks see as the essential things to know ❤❤ 12:19
i’m just in the beginning of my crochet era but trust me i have flagged this video bc i want to learn to knit too! your videos have been SO inspiring and so helpful Mija! sending you lots of good vibes for the summer❤
this tutorial is literally like the best one ever it literally answers all my wuestions and i thought id have to go to in person classes because i was too confused before watching this.....
My grandmother taught me to knit the "english method"--I had no idea that there was a name for it until now! I've been trying to learn a little more formally and this video was a great intro watch for me, thank you!
thank you so so much!! i learned how to knit in december but i'm still so confused with the stitches, cast off, etc, so i'll be watching this religiously
Generally a good tutorial and nice presentation (I really like your videos), but there a two things that appear to me overly complicated or counter intuitive. 1. Slipknot. Probably the very first thing I learned in my school handwork lesson, was how to make a slipknot: Take some yarn in your left (or right if your left-handed) hand and hold the tail-end with your little- and your ringfinger. Next wrap the yarn around your index- and middlefinger. Lastly slip with one or two fingers of your other hand into the loop, you just created, and pull the yarn, which should lay on the back of your hand, through the loop. 2. Continental Method. I must say, I didn't knew, that there were two methods, but the method I use seems to be called "continental". My problem is, that it seem rather counter intuitive to wrap the yarn around the needle, when you can instead easily pull the yarn with the needle, to create a loop. Keep in mind: Some things are personal preference, some are cultural difference and others just how we learned/got taught things. Just wanted to add my two cents to the conversation. ;)

Dude this is so helpful. I am a crocheter but the other day I suddenly just got the motivation like "I´m gonna knit a purple sweater"
As a left handed knitting in the way of the right-handed, trying to learn the continental method set the two sides of my brain at war lmao
As a fellow lefty I have to go so slow lol but somehow I end up with too much space between my needles when actually stitching and I don't know how to stop doing that

For the color series you should do black and the theme, goth or alternative
Great video! Thank you very much!!! ❤
Wow this is such a great video thank you!
