  • This short film explores the passions of acclaimed musician and songwriter Sarah McLachlan, using her own words and drawings to guide us through her rich creative world, the founding of the groundbreaking Lilith Fair, and her philanthropic work at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music.
    Produced by the NFB in co-operation with the National Arts Centre and the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards Foundation on the occasion of the 2015 Governor General's Performing Arts Awards.

    Surfacing was a great companion growing up and going through hard times. Her music will always have a special place in my heart.

    Sharing a natural talent in nature and beyond. Simple quiet listening lyrics take you out with each wave hitting the shore. A person can smell the salt water. Never get tired listening! Thank you!

    hi Sarah, my daddy was born, 01/29/1921 if he was alive he would be 101 years old , happy new year 2022 . Hurricane Katrina August 29th, 2005 i almost drowned in 17 feet of water on the street i lived on on DuBarry Street in Chalmette, Louisiana. i'm more than 9 years oler than you My sister Elisabeth got pregnunant at 15 & had a baby girl, july 25th 1968 named Tammy. i had one of your C.D.s & i really enjoyed your voice & songs happy new year Sarah/ you did a commericial for an animal shelter called Corain in Ohio Hamilton County near Churchhill Downs horse racing track. hi & may your new year be a better one than the last.

    Saved mine too and you agood woman with a big heart. The most unique voice ever. Sorry Carrie Underwood I voted for you but Sarah your voice 8s the most beautifulist one l ever heard.
