I am obese. I weigh almost 300 lbs. this whole “accept everyone no matter what their size” is RIDICULOUS!!!!! Being overweight is NOT healthy!!! It comes with a laundry list of complications including diabetes, high blood pressure, knee and ankle problems, hypertension, and lots more. We need to STOP saying “big is beautiful”...because it’s NOT!!!!!
I personally find their underwear way too overpriced. I like their perfumes and makeup bags but you can get the same quality underwear for a fraction of the price in different stores... 🤷🏽♀️

Do you really care about the weight or do you just hate fat people. I'm a size 4 and I personally want everyone to be at a healthy size. But I don't think humiliating them to lose weight is the answer.
Aerie is fabulous because they don’t retouch the images of their models & they can show you a bra on their models with a variety of sizes - like you can see the model with a B cup or D cup size 🔥
I don't feel like your stance comes from care. I follow a few fitness trainers online who are against the fat positivity movement but even they say, confidence and self love is needed to lose weight. If you already have yourself, you most likely are going to give up on yourself. When I wanted to lose weight (I was 150 pounds and now I'm 120), I didn't stop dressing up and I didn't stop doing my makeup. I still walked with confidence and I wanted to be better. Lowering someone's self esteem is not going to motivate them. If anything it will leave them stagnant. I also think therapy is probably necessary too because I do think food addictions stems from depression and low confidence.
I think the real reason they're declining is due to the fact that they're overpriced. It's not even so much about them not including plus size or transgender people.
That's obviously a part of it. But also the fact that he flat out says he wouldn't include different types of models because the models are a "fantasy" does not help at all and it's wrong.

Victoria's Secret is expensive and not everyone can afford 60.00 for ONE bra. I actually can and don't care to. It's based on preference and your preference is to buy it, which is perfectly fine.
VS didn't start as an affordable store that just recently raised their prices tho. They have always been expensive and that's never hurt their numbers. I think their marketing, unrealistic beauty standards and the rise people shopping online are hurting their sales. VS was created by a man who sold lingerie to other men to give to their significant others. Their marketing is still way too focused on what they think men want to see on a woman instead of what women want to wear. Even VS angels say they can't keep up with their standards! Look at Aerie. Their numbers are up by like 40% last year. And their marketing feels genuine, real and customers have a connection with them.

I disagree , I think Victoria's Secret is declining in sales because of their prices , and people don't feel the pressure to buy their items anymore because they can find cuter for cheaper. As much as I didn’t like working at American eagle (store manager was rude and didn’t know what she was doing and always hiding in the back) their size range is amazing. They have sizes 00-22 for women’s jeans & 26-44 for men’s jeans. Even their aerie brand has a Aerie Real campaign that celebrates all body shapes for women and even included a model with vitiligo & a model with down syndrome
I completely agree. Well not about working there cuz I've never worked there before. But I agree about their image and marketing. I actually enjoy shopping on their online store cuz they have such a diverse group of ppl modeling their clothes. And not diverse about just skin tone and race. They have ppl of all different shapes, sizes, and ages wearing their clothes. And they don't Photoshop the F out of stuff. Also I just prefer quality and style of American Eagle and Aerie clothes It honestly makes me a bit uncomfortable looking the VS catalogs and website now. Didn't used to think much of it before tho

I used to be a die hard VS fan. When I heard they weren't inclusive of diverse women I made a conscious choice to stop shopping there. Don't mess with my sisters VS! We women support each other!
They tried to reach the sportswear demographic and lost their main one in the process because their lingerie became sportswear inspired and not sexy anymore (I was a part of this one). Only issue is that they also failed to reach the new demographic because it's too expensive for them.

Their material and designs arent as elaborate and sexual appealing as it use to be in like 2006 and below. Also it's because of the digital market and shopping going online. There are other stores besides VS Walmart and Target in between for good bras. There’s Maiden Form, Hanes, La Senza etc etc etc. I personally loved La Senza but they shut it down where I live. 😢Anybody has any more suggestions?
Bath & Body Works has been pulling the weight for the company, L Brands, for a couple years now. Overpriced products at lower quality over the years. Comfort over luxury. Look at their competition: Aerie by American Eagle, Gilly Hicks by Hollister Co., Savage x Fenty. Who is now being specifically targeted in the market.

Amen for the size especially!!! I got a jacket that from pink and it looks bad, not on me but the product is bad and it's a large. Where as my friend has hers and it still looks great. Something that expensive should be of quality for every size ,not just the underwear!!! And I would like it if they made the shoe sizes up as well. I have gained weight since high school but I have the same size foot and i wasn't able to get the top part of my foot in the shoe!!!

I feel that way too, but I’m a 32 A. All they have for me is the sad plain bras or I have to go to Pink for my bras. Everything they carry in lingerie that’s supposed to be sexy starts at a B cup. No matter what end of the petite/plus spectrum you’re at, they don’t include everyone. I’ve literally had to wear the same 3 bras for 4-5 years because I can’t afford $50-60 per bra.

I’ve been a size 16 and a size 7 so buying clothes for me has been so hard and it can be very discouraging when companies that I want to wear aren’t inclusive or are making it difficult to find clothes that fit me.

First off VS sales decline has nothing to do with not supporting Plus or Trans woman. Sales were going down before that. I don't feel like your stance comes from care. I follow a few fitness trainers online who are against the fat positivity movement but even they say, confidence and self love is needed to lose weight.
If you already have yourself, you most likely are going to give up on yourself. When I wanted to lose weight (I was 150 pounds and now I'm 120), I didn't stop dressing up and I didn't stop doing my makeup. I still walked with confidence and I wanted to be better.
Lowering someone's self esteem is not going to motivate them. If anything it will leave them stagnant. I also think therapy is probably necessary too because I do think food addictions stems from depression and low confidence.
I think the real reason they're declining is due to the fact that they're overpriced. It's not even so much about them not including plus size or transgender people.

VS didn't start as an affordable store that just recently raised their prices tho. They have always been expensive and that's never hurt their numbers. I think their marketing, unrealistic beauty standards and the rise people shopping online are hurting their sales.
VS was created by a man who sold lingerie to other men to give to their significant others. Their marketing is still way too focused on what they think men want to see on a woman instead of what women want to wear. Even VS angels say they can't keep up with their standards! Look at Aerie. Their numbers are up by like 40% last year. And their marketing feels genuine, real and customers have a connection with them.

As much as I didn’t like working at American eagle (store manager was rude and didn’t know what she was doing and always hiding in the back) their size range is amazing. They have sizes 00-22 for women’s jeans & 26-44 for men’s jeans. Even their aerie brand has a Aerie Real campaign that celebrates all body shapes for women and even included a model with vitiligo & a model with down syndrome
I completely agree. Well not about working there cuz I've never worked there before. But I agree about their image and marketing. I actually enjoy shopping on their online store cuz they have such a diverse group of ppl modeling their clothes. And not diverse about just skin tone and race. They have ppl of all different shapes, sizes, and ages wearing their clothes. And they don't Photoshop the F out of stuff. Also I just prefer quality and style of American Eagle and Aerie clothes

Also VS changed their designs and most of their product appeals to young women between 14-27 at the latest 30. Their material and designs arent as elaborate and sexual appealing as it use to be in like 2006 and below. Also it's because of the digital market and shopping going online.

Lauren Thomas the average size for women in america is size 12, almost all the M/L are always gone at VS and all that’s left are the S/XS. they’re literally catering to the smallest demographic and their sales show that. being inclusive and even just having maybe some XLs or XXLs is not gonna kill them. look at aeri or AE. or even hollister, they used to have the tiniest clothing now I fit into their XS when i’m almost always a S/M, all bc people called them out for not catering to people who are different sizes. I get what you’re tryna say but VS has never once said they are a “petite store” like LB has but for plus size. they’re literally choosing to do so just to exclude a huge demographic, it’s their choice but being nasty to people who aren’t size 2 isn’t ok.

There are other stores besides VS Walmart and Target in between for good bras. There’s Maiden Form, Hanes, La Senza etc etc etc. I personally loved La Senza but they shut it down where I live. 😢Anybody has any more suggestions?

Bath & Body Works has been pulling the weight for the company, L Brands, for a couple years now. Overpriced products at lower quality over the years. Comfort over luxury. Look at their competition: Aerie by American Eagle, Gilly Hicks by Hollister Co., Savage x Fenty. Who is now being specifically targeted in the market.

Amen for the size especially!!! I got a jacket that from pink and it looks bad, not on me but the product is bad and it's a large. Where as my friend has hers and it still looks great. Something that expensive should be of quality for every size ,not just the underwear!!! And I would like it if they made the shoe sizes up as well. I have gained weight since high school but I have the same size foot and i wasn't able to get the top part of my foot in the shoe!!!

Good! First of all, they are WAY too expensive. A bra strap in that store is like $1,000. Lol. Second, no offense to anyone but they only carry typical “white girl” sizes. A “small“ for one of their models isn’t the same “small” as some of us women with booty and hips. Their small is like toddler size. 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏽♀️

Exactly! I have a 34 band size, which isn't that small, just average, but i have a cup H. I believe their cupsizes don't even go beyond tripple D, and that's for the larger Bandsizes. Smh...
I feel that way too, but I’m a 32 A. All they have for me is the sad plain bras or I have to go to Pink for my bras. Everything they carry in lingerie that’s supposed to be sexy starts at a B cup. No matter what end of the petite/plus spectrum you’re at, they don’t include everyone. I’ve literally had to wear the same 3 bras for 4-5 years because I can’t afford $50-60 per bra.

I’ll either shop Aerie on sale or clearance or hit up TJ Maxx. Haven’t shopped at VS in years. I randomly ended up at the annual sale this year and nothing good was on sale. Any good bras were still full price and material of the underwear felt like it would be so uncomfortable

First off VS sales decline has nothing to do with not supporting Plus or Trans woman. Sales were going down before that. It actually has to do with the fact their price doesn’t meet the quality and their bras are worthless. I’m a 38 DD I hate their bras no support plus why do I have extra padding and I’m a DD already. Finally started buying my bras at Nordstrom goodness expensive but the bras make sense. I can wear VS stuff but after the first wear, it’s a no for me. I miss the old American apparel they had great quality panties that lasted forever also as a woman I don't care if VS rep plus size. I can’t shop at FOREVER 21 my butts too big my thighs too thick my arms are bigger as well so I go where they make stuff for me.
