- We finally got our hands on some Teff only injera, so now we are making Ethiopian food!! Come join us as we make doro wot, miser wot, and alecha. But first, I'm going to start the process to making yogurt cheese, and show you how I make nose wipes for sick kids. Thanks for coming with us!

your honesty & sincerity when you said that you've never been to Ethiopia or that you're not Ethiopian enough to teach other people......was amazing but you nailed it. you know its actually time consuming to make this all dishes.. & the cooking time you gave was enough to tell that it's delicious... .... I haven't had my Enjera for almost 8 months now & Man that combo was mouth watering, I can smell it from here.

You should tell us if you spent some time in Ethiopia 🇪🇹 or hang around Ethiopians a lot. Your pronunciations of the dish names is great. Alicha , dorowot, berbere… something people that are not Ethiopians or Ethiopian origin enjoying our most cherished food makes my heart warm. Specially the kids ❤
We have many Ethiopian friends and we even began learning to write the Amharic letters many years ago. I try very hard to get my pronunciation as good as I can, so thank you very much for the encouragement that I did it well 😁😁

The family's I'm driving for them they adopt a children's from from different place and when I watch your video reminds me Meghan Walsh she adopt 2 kids from Ethiopia and she cook's same Ethiopia people. And if you are interested I'll tell for my Wife to follow you and she can teach you how to make Ethiopia food she is very good cook. Also specialty when she cook's Doro wat it takes her 12 hours the all the process.

You did a wonderful job 👏🏾 & thank you for telling people about other Ethiopian UA-camrs. I know this is late but next time you can cook the onion & Berbere for about 45min to 1hour then add the chicken and let it cook for few min the add generous amount of water ( don’t worry it will cooked down). If you add extra water you will have way more sauce and it will last you extra day or so. It takes so much time to make it’s always nice when it lasts few days. 🇪🇹🇪🇹 by the way your little boys is the cutest eating on his own ❤️

As another non-Ethiopian who loves the cuisine and cooks it for myself at home, this is really cool! Hopefully I can impart some extra knowledge: For Doro Wot, I would use more onions relative to the amount of chicken, and use more berbere and cook them longer. It should be a much brighter red from the berbere. The 'cabbage dish' goes by a few names: 'tikil gomen' literally means cabbage, 'atkilt wot' is a more proper name for the dish. 'Alicha' isn't really a dish, it's the flavor profile of the particular spicing used in this dish, heavy on the turmeric. If you can find a 'mekelesha' or 'mekelesha kimem" (kimem/qimem is 'spice blend'), sprinkle some on towards the end; it's a spice blend using korerima (ethiopian cardamom), it imparts an aromatic fragrance.

I am an Ethiopian and I am happy and grateful to see our traditional food being made by a non-Ethiopian woman. Another thing I appreciate that your family is a lover of traditional Ethiopian food, When you make the chicken,or Doro wat if you use Ethiopian butter or vegetable oil it will be more delicious. After the onion is cooked, add oil or Ethiopian butter and cook a little, then add the pepper or Berbere and cook well. It is the Ethiopian spicy butter that makes the Doro wat delicious but I appreciate you
