You know why most of them sail to sabah, it's actually simple, they want stability in life, peace from war and money. Why would they cross an ocean? For holiday? No, because of nothing is available at the Sulu island. The Philippines government did not provide much on the southern part of the Philippines due to different political and religious beliefs. The fact that most of them come fleeing from the south Philippines to Sabah due to war in the Moro region is a clear indication these people flee for safety. Sabah at this time accepts them as war refuges. The influx of migration of the people to Sabah is uncontrolled and not through proper immigration channels. Some don't have passports, thus deporting back to the Philippines is next to impossible. Yes this people need the basic necessity and human right, in which the government had allowed them to have access to health care and education before 2015, where they only need to pay as little as 40cent (roughly in US Dollar currency) for healthcare in clinics, maternal care, FREE CHILD VACCINATION, YES READ IT. With little thought of mind, just how much does the previous Philippine government have done to help their people in Sabah? Does the government of the Philippines even consider these people their citizens? Don't just type, act.

Exactly, I hate that the pinoy keyboard warriors have flooded the comments saying Malaysia oppressed these people. These people ran away from THEIR country. Sabahans have treated these people to the best of their ability. The Malaysian Government can’t just willy nilly accept the millions of Moros into Sabah. Malaysia isn’t anywhere near that rich. And the native Sabahans might revolt due to resource scarcity. Also, shame on the BN and UMNO party for giving these people IDs in place for votes instead of building facilities to naturalise and educate them securely.

@@FF-ch9nr I don't think they should stay in Sabah. They should either go back to the Philippines (their original villages, or a different part of the Philippines) or be moved to West Malaysia and eventually settled and come citizens. Both countries should work together to provide free transport and help them settle. But not in Sabah. We don't want to encourage further uncontrolled immigration. And it would upset the demographic balance, possibly leading to eventual ethnic/religious strive like has happened in so many other places.
If there was open borders with the southern Philippines, Sabah will soon fill up with people from there, who will outnumber the local Sabahans, and then push for the area to secede from both Malaysia and the Philippines, along with Mindanao to create a Moro country. Then what happens to the Sabahans?

It's outrageous how this country's in-charge have ignored their existence, or even attempted to try helping to resolve the glaring issues in an otherwise beautiful state of the country in Sabah. I saw first hand when on a trip to Sabah and Keningau some years ago, and a local pointed out to me who these people are and where they lived - many of their slums were actually very visible from the stretch of pristine beaches as they mostly live by the sea. How hard is it for the state or federal administration to at least acknowledge these are human lives fighting to survive; to offer the children basic education, and families with proper lodgings - at least to the existing population, For a Start?? It is shameful how corrupted officials even have the cheek to extort money from these vulnerable people. It's infuriating to see that such state of affairs still exist in 2022. Thank u CNA for bringing to light yet another controversial issue for your viewers.

Dubbed "IC Project" These ICs were given to them by the Ruling Party for the purpose of Voting for it to win Elections. These ICs are then used by these folks to apply for business and driving licenses as well as get bank accounts and get bank loans. And they also enjoy Medical benefits in Gov hospitals bcos they have ICs. But they pay NO TAXES bcos their ICs aren't Registered with National Registration Department.

Illegal immigrant definition; Illegal immigration to Malaysia is the cross-border movement of people to Malaysia under conditions where official authorization is lacking, breached, expired, fraudulent, or irregular.
Everything is recorded by the government those who are not in the system are mostly illegal immigrants.
Those who have refugees status that come to the state are recorded by the gov of Sabah and their legal kids have state identity cards but those born out of wedlock no citizenship.
And mostly, not all of them but mostly, the people living near the shores are generational of illegal immigrants that have came and lived there for a veeeery loong time. And the Malaysian government can just accept a few hundred or thousand Philippine immigrants per year and give them residence certificate. Any excess can be controlled via strengthening border control.

Hello because the british control mostly part of malaysia in colonial period but not sabah which is given by the sultan of brunei darusallam to the sultan of sulu as a gift for helping him in a war which the british actually recognized as they are a signed agreement between the british and the sultanate of sulu for a lease of the land which they will give annual pay for a year but after the british give independence to malaysia the british did not return sabah to the sultanate of sulu which sabah got swallowed up in the formation of the Federated States of Malaysia which the malaysian oh like sabah is controlled by britain right so its ours now then. Anyone who says that the british is talking to brunei is BS the sultan of sulu had a evidence and a contract with the british which they paid annually for leasing. NOT SELLING. So the story is Colonial Britain did not return Sabah to the Sulu Sultanate then got annexed by malaysia then this happens. I'm a pilipino and i know the truth one day we will reclaim sabah. That is a false narrative by Sulu. North Borneo (Sabah) previously belonged to Brunei before they ceded the entire territory to the British under the 1877 agreement, in the agreement it clearly states that North Borneo will be ceded to the British North Borneo Company (BNBC). However the Sultan of Sulu came along and falsely claims that North Borneo belongs to them, and to avoid a possible war in the region the British enter the 1878 agreement with the Sulu Sultanate which states that Sulu will grant and cede North Borneo to the BNBC which was the original meaning of “pajak”, however the Sultan of Sulu then twisted the original meaning and claims that the word pajak actually means “lease and rent”. The British then pays 5,000 Mexican gold coins to the Sultan of Sulu as cession money for North Borneo but the Sultan of Sulu twisted the narrative yet again and claims that the payment is “rent money”.

Dec 16, 2021 from the First President of the Paris Court of Appeal suspending the effects of the Exequatur Order in France and barring the claimants from relying on it.
Stampa upheld the claimants' request in disregard of the suspension of the effects of the Exequatur Order.
"Therefore, it follows that the final award rendered by Stampa on Feb 28, 2022 not only violates Malaysia's sovereign immunity but was also rendered in disregard of the Madrid and Paris court decisions.
The Spanish Public Prosecutor has filed a criminal complaint against Stampa for serious contempt of court and professional intrusiveness, it said.
It added that the Criminal Court N.40 of Madrid has subsequently started a criminal investigation in connection with the illegal actions of Stampa.

Hmmm, I don't understand why Malaysian Government can't help people in need and labelled as one of the greatest Asian nation with a strong religious belief of providing charity (International religious and political arena). As far as I remember, people like them particularly in Cebu City (Visayan Region, Philippines) receives frequent help assistance in terms of healthcare, education and at the same time, respecting their language and culture. I am a witness of this fact because I was a government employee and was able to help them in the hospital. And it was their new generations who received basic and advance education was always with them as meditators specially when asking help for their older generations who can not speak and understand our local dialect and its real that they don't have document and education and seems stateless but still get Government assistance. Cebuano accepted their presence and understands they really exists and really needs help and not consider them as a threat to society which is very opposite to the statement of Malaysian Officer on this documentary.
All I can say is Malaysian Government must open their eyes and will take the challenge on helping them so they can function well in the society in the future specially for the newer generation not for the sake of being good in the International Political arena, but genuinely helping humans in need of help.

Worries no more. Sabah is now will be back to it’s righteous owner, the Sultanate of Sulu, in which the rights to govern it was given to the government of the Philippines in the 70’s. Sabah is in fact, part of the Philippines. Malaysia has been paying rent to administer the island, only stopped the payment when moro rebels from the mainland Mindanao, attacked the Malaysian military outposts. Earlier this month, the Sultanate of Sulu, the righteous owner of Sabah has finally won the arbitration. Sabahanians will now be given Filipino citizenship in the near future, once all this gets settled down.

I subscribed because of this issue on both 3 countries,Philippines,Malaysia, and Indonesia with regards to migration. However, historically, Sultanate of Sulu owned the Sabah since the Sultanate of Brunei gave it as a reward fir his help restoring peace in Brunei at that timd. Then, came British North Botneo rented the land and developed it. Then WW2 btoke out. After war, the British gave the responsibility to the newly formed Union of Malaya, now Malaysia of the the paying rent and they accepted that since 1963 until they breached the contract in 2013.
And the Sultanate of Sulu filed a propriety lawsuit at the arbitration court in Spain and motioned and agreed at France last late February 2022. The Sultanate of Sulu won the case.
The court's decision was implemented by Luxembourg by seizing Petronas assets worth 2B dollars.
This means that Philippines, the Sultanate of Sulu gave their rights to the Philippine government since 1963 of yhe former President Macapagal.
Thus, the Philippines has rights over Sabah. Malaysia rented Sabah and the contract was breached by them.
Now, Sabah must be returned to its owner, the Sultanate of Sulu and the Philippines.

As a Sabahan, I am very sick of hearing the Philippines and Malaysia fighting over this land, they only want this land and not Sabahans. Where are our rights as Sabahans? The other is that Malaysia should tighten the laws for this state about non-citizens who try to come here without bringing documents and impose penalties and reduce the recruitment of foreigners to work in Malaysia. For the Philippines, Sabah does not belong to the Philippines even though the history of Sabah is related during the rule of the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam with the Sultanate of Sulu. Sabah itself participated in the formation of Malaysia in 1963. Sabah was also willing to participate. The rule of the Sultanate of Sulu and Sultanate of Brunei ended due to British colonization. Sabah was under British rule at that time until independence. Sabah joined Malaysia in 1963. So there is no reasonable reason to say that Sabah belongs to the Philippines. For your information, people who come here without permission and stay here are non-citizens and you want to know that it is the Filipinos who come here without permission. We have already sent your people back to their country of origin, coming back here will only cause trouble for people. the reason Filipinos come to this land is because of the government of your own country which is full of corruption, don't say that Malaysia is the only country known for corruption, the government of your country is just like Malaysia. So bring your people money to come to this land to your country. As a reminder to you, that the Sulu sultanate ended during the British colonization of Sabah. So no country of yours has the right to consider Sabah as a Philippine state. Sabah is a state in MALAYSIA. if Philippines and Malaysia still fight about this,we as sabahan will go out from Malaysia and start our own country.

In 1963, Sabah + Sarawak + Malaya + Singapore agree to form a Federation called Malaysia and which Singapore left in 1965. So please stop the misconception that Malaysia occupy or rent Sabah, Sabah is rented from Sulu by the British not Malaysia. After the British left, these 4 regions under the previous British rules agree to form Federation of Malaysia. Majority of Sabahans agree to join the federation following a referendum done by the United Nation in 1963. So there's no such things that Malaysia occupy Sabah from Philippines. That is a false narrative by the Sulu Sultanate.

This is what the lease said though its not complete, I hope to see the whole contract....
    In english:
"have been pleased to lease with our own pleasure and pleasure to Mr. Gustavus Baron von Overbeck who lives in the state of Hong Kong and to Alfred Dent Esquire who lives in the state of London... until forever all the orders and powers that we have that are subject to us in the mainland of Borneo Island from the Pandasan River in the west to all the land on the east coast as far as the Sibuku River in the south.[6]"
From there you can see that the Sabah was leased to British people and it also says that the lease is FOREVER. But that doesn't mean the ownership is within the sovereignity of tje Malaysian Government because it's ONLY LEASED and NOT SOLD. Now that all Rights were transfered to the Philipine Government by the Sultan of Sulu, all the rights in terms of payment should now be under the Philippine Government.
This is my personal opinion and interpretation.

@BigTr. lol hahaha 1877 agreement between British and Brunei has nothing to do with Sabah claim🤣 what presented during arbitration process was 1878 contract between Sultanate of Sulu and British. Take note that during arbitration process, the arbitrator sent several letters to Malaysia but Malaysia kept on ignoring because they do not have the evidences and proofs to support their claim 😭😭
The Heirs of Sultanate of Sulu also submitted the copy of contract between Brunei and Sultanate of Sulu so their claim was legal with basis.
While Malaysian people kept on ranting in comment section not knowing that their country has admitted that they are paying lease to heirs since 1963 to 2012. If i were you, ask former Malaysia AG why he wrote a letter to heirs on 2019 to beg that Malaysia will continue paying the lease with arrears..
Piece of advice, check your facts first and the complete history before you rant in comment section

It's a common knowledge for every Filipinos that said war in the southern part of the Philippines was funded by Malaysian government so that the Philippine government be busy in Mindanao as well as Mindanaoans to forget the claim to Sabah. The Malaysian government is also responsible for the troubles in Mindanao. On the other hand, they are also acting for the pretend settlement of local conflicts to hide their long-standing support for the disturbances and terrorism in Mindanao.
The so-called stateless citizens are real citizens of Sabah. They are Filipinos who have the right to that land because it is part of the Philippines through the sultanate of Sulu. The Malaysian government has no right to deport these people. Moreover, Malaysians have no right to treat the true citizens of Sabah as animals.

    *MANILA ACCORD August 5, 1963*
    Was signed by:
    1. Tengku Abdurrahman (Malaysia)
    2. Diosdado Macapagal (Philipina)
    3. Soekarno (Indonesia).
    *Content of the agreement.*
Based on the context of attachment of UN General Assembly 1541 (XV), number 4 principal 9, and evaluation of UN Secretary General (at that time held by Bhutan); the three countries, Malaysia, Philipine, and Indonesia HAVE TO WAIT SABAH STATUS DECISION BASED ON TERRITORY OWNER VOICE (FROM SULU SULTANATE), OR RESULT OF LOCAL PEOPLE VOTES IF SULU SULTANATE WITHOUT BEING FORCED HANDED OVER THE DECISION OF SABAH STATUS TO LOCAL PEOPLE WHICH WOULD BE SUPERVISED BY UNITED NATION; because it is related to law order of territorial tenure or decolonization (on the basis of rent document as a proof, SABAH IS NOT BRITISH COLONY, or IS NOT OWNED BUT RENTED BY BRITISH, SO THAT SABAH IS OWNED BY SULU SULTANATE, and BRITISH HAS NO RIGHT TO HAND OVER SABAH TERITORY TO ANOTHER COUNTRY).
Generally, INTERNATIONAL LAW, decision to certain Sabah status (attachment of UN General Assemby 1541 (XV), number 4 principal 9) MUST BE BASED ON ONE OF THE ALTERNATIVES BELOW:
    a. return back Sabah teritory to Sulu
Sultanate as the owner of Sabah,
    or
    b. (if) Sulu Sultanate without being forced
handed over voice right to people for
    voting Sabah status certainty, then
the decision of Sabah status would be
certained by one of the following
    choices:
    - join to Malaysia
    or
    - join to Philipine
    or
    - join to Indonesia
    or
    - establish a new country.
BUT MALAYSIA DIDNOT OBEY THE AGREEMENT and IGNORED UNITED NATION RULE ABOVE through DECISION TO ESTABLISH FEDERAL STATE OF MALAYSIA AT SEPTEMBER 16, 1963; ANNEX SABAH WITHOUT RESPECTING THE OWNER VOICE, OR LOCAL PEOPLE WILL (if Sulu Sultanate handed over the decision of Sabah status to local people) AND WITHOUT RESPECTING UNITED NATION RULE ABOVE THAT WAS COMMITTED IN THE AGREEMENT. This Malaysia’s decision ignite anger of two countries (Philipine and Indonesia), so that in 1963 Philipines and Indonesia cut off diplomatic relations to Malaysia, and was followed by conflict and confrontation by Indonesia that was called “Ganyang Malaysia” at that time. Generally, INTERNATIONAL LAW (based on attachment context of UN General Assembly 1541 (XV), number 4 principal 9), enforces rule that TAKING OVER A TERITORY TO BECOME A NEW COUNTRY MUST BE OBEY THE RULE BASED ON ASPIRATiON (VOICE) OF THE TERRITORY OWNER’S DECISION. IF NOT, THEN THAT TERITORY IS PERMANENT BELONG TO THE OWNER. Because British was not the owner (rent document as a proof), then SABAH IS STILL OWNED BY SULU SULTANATE (British only as a renter to Sulu Sultanate according to agreement). SULU SULTANATE AS THE SABAH TERRITORY OWNER HAS THE LAW RIGHT TO DO ANYTHING RELATED TO HIS OWN TERRITORY.
