My husband grew up in Roanoke, went to VT, then moved to Newport News because of his job. Before we married 32 years ago, he made it clear that he wanted to move to Roanoke after he retired. I agreed to this. In 2019, we moved here. I have lived many places in my life but have never been happier! There is so much to do and see within 30 minutes of town. Downtown Roanoke has really stepped up their game and is a vibrant, fun downtown. People here are incredibly sweet and the cost of living is reasonable. My love for this area has inspired me to start a bicycle touring business that brings visitors to Virginia from neighboring states. I’m excited to share this area with others.

There is one club downtown, but the theme might not be everyone's cup of tea. There's an Awful Arthurs down there though and while it ain't exactly a club they play music in there and the weekends can get crazy. Dude got vibe checked for being a creeper and got arrested and then we went back to listening to this other guy play his guitar like nothing happened.
