Just bought some cheap $14 Omnibus F3 Pro flight controllers for my Eachine Blackwing (and hopefully C1 Chaser) build. This video will definitely come in handy so thanks in advance!

I really appreciate your step by step Videos! I bought a S800 as well over a year ago, but never got the CG right, it is not that easy as i tought like a normal plane with fuselage. The CG is so narrow every 0.001mm afects the CG quickly. How did you get the CG right??
Fantastic no frills video, man. Hoping you can help. My problem is elevons act exactly the same whether moving stick up and down or left and right. Tried reversing every possible combo including physical connections - no luck. Ever run across that?
Grahame addicott thanks for your help ... now i'm sure i'll be ready to fly this week-end 😀 juste one question . Where can i find the CLI command ? Can you wrote it here ...or maybe there is a web page.?
I am only starting out with flight controllers and iNav etc. I get pretty lost in all the terminology, but I am pretty sure I spotted an article where they used put the analog rssi fromthe L9r to a current pad on an F3 board and altered something in cli. Does that make any sense? Maybe there are different specs of F3 boards? My omnibus f3 and L9R have just arrived and I am trying to get my head around it all, it would be nice to get rssi displayed on the osd. Great video I have to say!!
Martin Ferguson Haha, I know it's terrible in this video. My soldering station broke a few days before doing this build, so I had to use my friends cheap and nasty £15 soldering iron. I know you should never blame your tools for poor work, but honestly it was so hard to get a good solder joint going with that iron
grahame addicott you probably already know, but the reason it was hard is that the solder tip was a pencil tip. You need a 3-4mm chisel for 90% of solders, a fat fat (5-7mm) bevel for power wires and large pads and conical (pencil) is only for board pins. After my rmrc is done, your inspiration will power me to build a s800. Thanks champ.
Hi, perfect video thank you for that. Just finishing my s800 with same board. Still waiting for servos. Three questions. Is it necessary to set minimum throttle and if yes why? Did you calibrate ESC and if yes how ? Do you like this wing rather more nose heavy then balanced perfectly ? thank you
You don't have to set min throttle, unless you plan to use the auto launch feature or if you set your motor to spin as soon as you arm. It's not hard to do though so you might as well do it. Yes I calibrated my esc, I used Blheli suite on my laptop to calibrate it. If your esc runs blheli then you can do the same, if not you'll have to do it via inav....on the motors tab click the button to enable motor control and then push the master slider to 100%. Then plug a battery into your s800...it'll beep twice (maybe more depending on which esc you have) at which point drag the master slider back to 0%. That'll make the esc calibrate itself. My s800 is very slightly nose heavy and it seems to fly well, although it'll lose height if you let go of the sticks. My friend's s800 is balanced evenly and his will climb a lot faster than mine. It doesnt matter to much, just experiment untill you find a balance that works for you :)
If it's turning left in passthrough, my guess would be that your left wing is heavier than the right wing, and therefore is being pulled left. Try balance the aircraft on one finger and see if the left wing dips down. If so my reccomendation would be to adda little weight to the right wing to correct the balance. After that using trimming on your transmitter or if you're using inav use the 'servo auto trim' mode
Hi Giz,i'm mounting my first Omnibus F3 in following your tuto,i have a question, you tel us to solder a jumper wire across RAM and VBAT,i understand but i don't see it on your FC and you seem have done another jumper by the side with your white wire...So,just a jumper between VBAT and RAM is enough?
Hello ! Now that we can put F4 controller, would you do it ? Asking this question as a total beginner. Aand that build video is basically excellent btw.
@@gizfpv Okay thanks. During this night i thought about it, and definitly gonna follow your path an f3. the real question for me is : reptile s800 or A-R 900 ? There might be no good or wrong answers but still on this.
Hey giz, I just ordered the s800 kit. As I have everything else laying around. The flight controller i have is a spracing f3. I don't see much info around for using inav on it. Do you have any info or maybe links? Also I still need to get an m8n neo but I see them labeled for different boards such as apm and dji naza. Any particular version I should order? GPS stuff is something I know nothing about. Any help is greatly appreciated. I subbed brother I love the video.
Bobby Pennington As far as I know the SP racing FC will work with inav, however it has no OSD chip so you'll get no OSD when flying. If that doesn't matter to you then it should work fine. As for GPS, any m8n should work in theory. Just because it's listed as being for naza or something doesn't really mean anything. You should be able to find a generic m8n GPS for about £10-20
You switch on launch mode, arm the aircraft and then set the throttle to 60-80%. Then you throw the aircraft into the air, at which point the motor should kick in and the aircraft will then climb. To take back control of the aircraft all you have to do is move one of the sticks. You dont have to switch off the mode
I have another question ! why in the INAV configuration you remove the parameter of the barometer? on my f3 I have a barometer but not integret in my GPS I have to check the option barometer in the config? Thank you
Great video. I got a omnibus F3 , but have a problem to flash it. Does the red light dim a little when you put it in bootloade mode or disapear the red light ?
I have Zadig in my PC, but i have tryed the Impulse RC driver. It does not seem to find a com port. Does the Impulse RC driver need to search for a long time? Tryed 2 diffrent USB cables also. ( the red light on the FC dim when it is in bootloader mode)
Hi, currently I'm building my S800 setup based on your video. 2 questions: what LiPo do you use? (that fits next to the electronics). Why didn't you connect the GPS module using the SPI connector on F3 board? Or it isn't an option?
I currently use a 1400 4s. I know a 2200 3s will fit confortably too, and I think you can get even larger batteries in. Using a 1400 I get around 10 mins of flight. As for the gps, my gps unit didn't have a plug on the end that fit the board, so it was just easier to direct solder it rather than try find and fit a compatible plug
These are the CLI commands I use: set max_angle_inclination_rll = 600 set max_angle_inclination_pit = 600 set small_angle = 180 set nav_fw_bank_angle = 35 set nav_rth_altitude = 7000 set failsafe_throttle_low_delay = 0 set nav_rth_allow_landing = OFF
How come we have to input those commands into the CLI? Do you still have to do that with the newest version of inav? I'm new to inav and I'm just confused to why those need to be imported to the CLI. @@gizfpv no problem can understand people are busy. Thank you for the reply I was really confused that helped quite a bit. In terms of programming, yeah the AR 900 wing should be almost identical to the S800. Use the Z84 preset and it should work fine. And yeah, you can still use all the same CLI commands. There's a few extra you should add too: set disarm_kill_switch=OFF set nav_extra_arming_safety = ON You might find it useful to look at some of my more recent build videos, such as the Sonic Modell F1 build. Inav has changed a little over the past year and the Inav setup part of that video might help you out.
@@gizfpv thank you so much I will check out your newer videos I actually did watch them but I will watch them again. What do those two CLI commands do exactly? And I really appreciate the help although your videos are amazing as they are I'm just a bit nervous on my first inav build lol. I'll just keep watching your videos until I get it.
Hi, got another question. Im using 2) 3 position switches, 1st is for horizon and heading hold mode and the 2nd switch loiter n rth. Do i need to switch off switch 1 before activating switch 2? I beleive rth overrides everything but idk if other navigation modes like loiter will cancel out switch 1.
hello a question, the values you introduce in cli, to what scale does it belong? metrics? Uk ??? etc For example in altitude rth you put 7000 but 7000meters,7000 feet.... Thank you!
How did you hit the 125mm C of G? I've just built mine with the same sort of setup, but it wants 130 grms of lead in camera bay with a Runcam Eagle and a GoPro! Seems outrageous to me.
Thanks for getting back to me Giz. No, a little 29 grm DYS 2205, (but I've extended it 15mm with some aluminium standoffs), plus a 20A airplane ESC in the provided cavity and a cheap 2200 mAH 3S battery right up front. Seems similar to every video I've watched but nobody else seems to have a problem with the CG.
Having the motor mounted on standoffs won't help anything. You'd be surprised how much easier it will be to balance the wing if you mount the motor directly onto the airframe. The S800 in this video was built for a friend, my personal S800 is very different. I use a small Littlebee 30a racequad ESC in mine, and having such a light ESC makes it so much easier to balance. Only have 70g of nose weight on mine. I'd suggest getting rid of the standoffs, and if that still doesnt help put a smaller esc in if possible
Thanks! Then I will use it and maybe later I will get mateks f405 wing. The Omnibus F3 (mine is v1.1) has no problem when everything is connected? Receiver, SmartPort, GPS, LEDs?
Derrick Mitchell What FC was it? My first guess would be that you overloaded the regulator, but without knowing how you wired things together it's hard to say
Giz FPV I got the power hook up off Rag The Nuts Off channel. He shows how to power it up and how to do a Y connection to share the neutral from the FC.
Darin Pesnell around 130-140kph, but I rarely do speed runs. Most the time I fly slow to prolong battery for long endurance flights. Might be able to fly faster for all I know
Explain please. 6.43min - in your video. You connect the transmitter to 12V on PDB ( Stabilizer) This gives an additional and unnecessary load on the PDB For what? If people use the battery 3S? Maybe this is suitable for battery 4S Is not it better to connect the transmitter directly to the battery? Thanks
The answer is simple: providing power to the video transmitter from a 12v regulator as opposed to directly from the battery, provides the transmitter with clean power. The regulator removes 'noise' from the power system caused by the esc/motor. If you powered the transmitter directly from the battery you would almost certainly get noise on the fpv feed, especially at high throttle
Having airmode enabled keeps the self leveling working at zero throttle (when you're gliding). Without airmode, when you go to zero throttle you lose stabilization

Привет! Чтоб заармился мотор нужно чтоб самолет стоял горизонтально и было более 6 спутников GPS. если не хочешь ждать GPS, то в CLI вбей команду set nav_extra_arming_safety = OFF и потом сохрани настройку командой safe

You calibrated incorrectly!!! It " MUST be done referenced to the marked orientation on the board". Many people make this mistake. github.com/iNavFlight/inav/wiki/Sensor-calibration
Paul Arscott it was done correctly! If you look closely you'll see that when I install the FC into the wing the usb is facing forwards. The usb is on the 'front' side of the FC. I only did a mock calibration for reference purposes anyway, did the proper calibration before installing the FC in the aircraft, and recommended people do the same in the video
grahame addicott ok but its not evident you adjusted for the 90° FC rotation when calibrating. Many just go to the wiki and use the diagram forgetting about the board marked orientation.
Yeah, I followed the tutorial step by step, my fc is also 90 degrees rotated, and calibrated when already installed and rotated, this was 2 days ago, until today reading the wiki I didnt know what happened to my wing, never can take off, it was obviously going crazy in the air. I would put an annotation on the video, or explanation on the description, awesome video anyway.
I have installed the same FC, should i fix 90 degree orientation then calibrate with the front as front or should i calibrate for how the board is originally aligned?

set nav_extra_arming_safety = ON
You might find it useful to look at some of my more recent build videos, such as the Sonic Modell F1 build.
Why would you disable barometer? Altitude is needed for some flight modes in Rtl and gps altitude calculations are very inaccurate.
Hi, im new to inav and the f405, f411 FC. Im using firmware 2.6 and wanted to know whats the difference between POS HOLD and LOITER.
POSHOLD and Loiter are both technically the same thing
@@gizfpv thanks for the quick reply. Im using 2) 3 way switches and loiter override (3d) alt+heading hold?
Hi, got another question. Im using 2) 3 position switches, 1st is for horizon and heading hold mode and the 2nd switch loiter n rth. Do i need to switch off switch 1 before activating switch 2? I beleive rth overrides everything but idk if other navigation modes like loiter will cancel out switch 1.
@@theinnocent714 The functions you have on switch two should override the functions you have on switch one. Don't quote me on it, but I'm 90% sure
@@gizfpv hmmm.. ok guess ill have to try it when im done configurating and some ground testing. Thankx
hello a question, the values you introduce in cli, to what scale does it belong? metrics? Uk ??? etc
For example in altitude rth you put 7000 but 7000meters,7000 feet....
Thank you!
The rth altitude is measured in centimeters, so 7000 is actually 70m. The other values are measured in degrees
Thanks men! Good videos!!
What GPS is that?
What trasmitter did you use??
FrSKY Taranis QX7
Did you can to make a video of how to configure the radio control, please??
You didn't blur enough out on the GPS screen.
How did you hit the 125mm C of G? I've just built mine with the same sort of setup, but it wants 130 grms of lead in camera bay with a Runcam Eagle and a GoPro! Seems outrageous to me.
That does seem like a lot of extra weight. Do you have a especially big motor at the back?
Cheers Giz, I agree. Replacing the ESC with a 30A Opto and an SBEC under the canopy. The standoffs were to reduce the noise but I'll dump them. Cheers
Is OmnibusF3 something you can recommend for S800?
Absolutely! I've had one in my s800 for almost a year and it's never let me down
Thanks! Then I will use it and maybe later I will get mateks f405 wing. The Omnibus F3 (mine is v1.1) has no problem when everything is connected? Receiver, SmartPort, GPS, LEDs?
Not had any problem with mine. Just make sure your servos, vtx and camera get their power from a pdb of external bec and you should be fine
I have a small buck module for servos; camera and vtx are powered from battery directly, should be fine then :)
how to put near a window to get gps signal?
For some reason when I plugged in my system today it started smoking. I did not use pdb cause the fc comes with a voltage regulator. Any ideas?
Derrick Mitchell What FC was it? My first guess would be that you overloaded the regulator, but without knowing how you wired things together it's hard to say
Giz FPV I got the power hook up off Rag The Nuts Off channel. He shows how to power it up and how to do a Y connection to share the neutral from the FC.
Giz is the L9r directly compatible with a standard taranis x9d plus like one with no additional modules on the back?
Yup, should be. So long as your Taranis has the latest firmware and supports LR12 mode, it will work without the need for any modules or upgrades
Sweeeeeeet!......LR12?
what the max speed you have had with this wing on 4s?
Darin Pesnell around 130-140kph, but I rarely do speed runs. Most the time I fly slow to prolong battery for long endurance flights. Might be able to fly faster for all I know
Explain please.
6.43min - in your video.
You connect the transmitter to 12V on PDB ( Stabilizer)
This gives an additional and unnecessary load on the PDB
For what?
If people use the battery 3S?
Maybe this is suitable for battery 4S
Is not it better to connect the transmitter directly to the battery?
Many thanks for the answer.
The video is just great !!
Цhy do we need the AIRMODE on the wing?
Having airmode enabled keeps the self leveling working at zero throttle (when you're gliding). Without airmode, when you go to zero throttle you lose stabilization
Keeps the PIFF controller active so that you have control while gliding.
Dude do u mind sharing the pid for s800?
Mohammad Nizam If you follow the inav settings in the video you'll see I use the z84 preset on inav. I use the default pids that come with that preset
Can you help me?
How did you rotate the controller in the settings INAV?
Yaw ? 90? 180?
Thanks.
On Inav, go to the configuration tab and then scroll down to 'board and sensor alignment', and then yes, change the yaw value
I'm doing it i.
But I can not turn right in any way ( in YAW).I do not know what values need to write!
Try 90 degrees, if that does not work try 180, and if that still doesn't work try 270
Aha !!
The required value is 270.
Thank you so much!! :)
yaw -90 or 90?
If you have the flight controller orientated the same way it is in the video, 90
@@gizfpv
Can I use -90? because if you use -90 pitch front anda back is correct
I have got red light blinking on my omnibus f3 and I cant get any satelites gps :(((
anyone got backup file for f3 omnibus ? just flashed mine without one lol

Привет! Чтоб заармился мотор нужно чтоб самолет стоял горизонтально и было более 6 спутников GPS. если не хочешь ждать GPS, то в CLI вбей команду set nav_extra_arming_safety = OFF и потом сохрани настройку командой safe
Why didn't you connect a rssi?
godz320 RSSI doesn't work with the L9R and omnibus f3
I'm sorry, you have omnibus f3. it doesn't have analog RSSI input.
I am only starting out with flight controllers, but I am pretty sure I spotted an article where they used put the analog rssi to a current pad and altered something in cli. Does that make any sense? My f3 and L9R have just arrived and I am trying to get my head around it all! Great video by the way!!
What's with these hobbyist using a lighter rather than a heat gun? Is $10+ electricity really that expensive? Just curious.
Is £10 + electricty really necessary, when a 30p lighter does just as good a job? :p
4.20 min your video/
Check on the picture where you connected 3 servo.( to 2)
Yeah somebody pointed out that mistake in one of the earlier comments. Unfortunately no way I can ammend it
Mnohokrát děkuji za inspiraci a návod jak na to. Jsi nejlepší ua-cam.com/video/I4zhiz6X7po/v-deo.html
У нас в России это называется тяп - ляп и готово! :)
And you could not collect me. I would buy from you.
