- For all my new stylists and future stylists, I wanted to share a little day in the life and show you how I make the most of my free time when I have a slow day at work -- and what I do to grow my business so I'll have less slow days in the future. Listen, it's tough when you're first starting out and I know that feeling of just sitting around with no clients to work on, but you're never going to become a fully booked, successful stylist if you don't put in the work!

Hey girl I’m about to graduate beauty school and would love to see a video on how you take your hair photos. Your videos are so educational!
I’m a retired hairstylist. To keep the number of clients up, remember to treat the older ladies with respect because those cuts, colors, and perms are your bread and butter! They are more likely to remain loyal to you and not go elsewhere. I enjoyed doing their hair and had most interesting conversations.
My mother in law is a stylist and I've had the same stylist for 15 years. I have mad respect for these folks because I can only imagine how hard it is.
You can save posts at drafts too!! I just found out and love it it’s a life saver. All you have to do is go on insta and pic a picture and caption like you’re going to post it but then hit the back arrow like your gonna delete it instead and save it as draft and Instagram will save them all so all you have to do is pick one you have saved and it post!
I’m guilty of doing this 😂 And then I forget to post them so I end up with a gazillion drafts on Instagram 💀

I’ve been hairdressing for 14 years & It’s very true my schedule fluctuates all the time. On quieter days It’s definitely good to post a lot on social media. Roll on the Christmas period 👌🏻 Long days of back to back clients with no food, I can’t wait to be burnt out. It’s my

I manage a salon but I am not a hairstylist. So many of your videos are helpful to me! I will be sharing this video with my staff! My staff struggles with utilizing social media and building business on their own and when they have a slow day, they sit in the break room... which we call the 'broke' room. Thank you for the tips!

The way I grew my books to be booked out for weeks is to ALWAYS PREBOOK CLIENTS!!!!! When you do this you’ll always have someone each day!!! I’ve been full time behind the chair for almost 2 years and am fully booked every week! Just make yourself VALUABLE and the money will follow!!!!
Absolutely a must!! But if you only have like 5 clients in total and majority of them get a balayage or something that they only touch up like twice a year, that alone won't help you become *fully* booked.

I would love how you get your content. I’m licensed as well and have been working from home because I had a bad salon experience but in general I have such a hard time figuring out how to take the best pictures. Like better to use iPhone camera, purchase a good canon, how do you get pictures of yourself doing work, etc 🤗

I have a question for any stylist i havent seen anyone talk about. Do you guys get upset when a client doesnt like the outcome of their hair? And how do you tend to i guess resolve the situation?i have gotten my hair done many times and one time it didn't get blended properly and i was too afraid to say anything so i just blended my roots myself with box dye. And another time a woman had done my roots when i didn't want them done but i didn't think of it as she was doing it (cause i trusted her judgement and what she was doing, i have no clue whats going up there so i was like oh okay) but when i said something she just defended herself and said thats what i asked for so i didnt say anything after and was fine and just again box dyed my hair (probably not the best solution but send it i guess haha) i just wanted to know how to go about telling a stylist if you dont like the outcome and what to expect when it comes to fixing it?💖💖
It sounds like you need to make sure at the beginning to tell the hairstylist exactly what you want. Do you go to the same stylist each time? Sometimes it will take a couple times before the stylist will get it exactly how you want your hair.

have you ever dealt with anxiety doing hair? i did hair at my salon for about a year, and with clients on top of college my anxiety was unreal. i quit doing hair to become the receptionist. i miss doing hair, i just can’t get out of this funk 😕
Yeah, definitely, especially in the very beginning! But I just forced myself to power through and now I almost never get anxious or nervous.

Hello I enjoyed the video But actually I don’t know for me I want to actually do cosmetology or start working in a beauty parlor and just drop out of community college or continue and graduate with an associates in accounting. What do you think I should do?
I can't tell you what to do with your own life!!
You should finish your Associates degree be cause
It could be a good backup plan in case you find that being a cosmetologist is too demanding on your feet and back.

Oh yeah that’s what I’m doing, and actually I changed to associates in education since I think I’m goth want to be a teacher and do cosmetology on the side. Then thanks for the suggestion🙂

The hair is actually attached to the mannequin head, but I'm not sure where it's from. My boss has a bunch of them at the salon... I'm sure you can find some on Amazon though.
Do people know where you are located? Not to doxx you. Maybe your subscribers would come in droves. I WOULD. I wear no make up and people call me bun girl. I have no idea what to do with my hair and have no idea how to do makeup. Maybe you can do a video helping people who have no clue! I watch your channel purely for your amazing personality. You are so cute, sweet, and humble. Maybe do a collab with a viewer who is completely clueless.

srmd86 sorry to hear that, but maintaining a UA-cam channel requires a lot of hours of work. You’re getting free content and all you have to do is sit through a few seconds of ads. If it bothers you that badly, you don’t have to watch. 🤷♀️
