OMG! Thank you so much for simplifying this process for me! I've been collecting ponderosa pine resin to make a wax blend for jewelry casting. I couldn't get it to crystalize until I watched the way you did it! SOOOO much easier and faster than what I was doing before. Perfect! many many thanks!!!

    Hey there!
Curious to know what can your final product, be used for? Is there a way to make these into small pebbles that people can use to burn ? ( I'm sort of confused on how to make little pebble rocks out of pine sap)

I am going to try it with cherry tree resin and putting an insect inside. Curious if it will work out.

Do you know how to make a "lollypop" to use it as a tool to apply to stands of cloth as a friction paste? The Japanese use something like that on the back of the silk or cotton cord (called ito) to help hold it in place as the wrap it around a sword handle. They pull the material across the lollypop to add the adhesion / tacky substance to the cord. Anyway, that is what I am trying to do. I have some pine gum that is in a yellowish rock form. I know this is an odd question, but thought I would ask since you seem to know a lot about this. Thanks.

I am not too sure, but if I was going to try it would be heating it and adding bees wax and maybe a mineral oil to get it to the right consistency/stickiness. This is also a guess on my part - good luck & would love to know if you ever figure it out!

In our experience you really have to heat & constantly stir when you mix the resin with wax. Eventually it does combine, but takes a bit of time & work. Good Luck!

Melt sap first. Beeswax has a lower melt temp
