I love to see T2 gameplay. Back in 2019 when it came out I was a sim player and I still hold a 15:1 KD for sim. It was so fast that you could circle some maps in just a few minutes. Fly low on the deck and back then with the rudimentary missile physics it would out run them. Plus it had a radar which was rare at the time and the associated computing gunsight. Completely overpowered. Personally I got bored and moved to DCS, but the memories of the T2 are still very fond and its always such a good looking plane. Thanks for the vid DEFYN

Any plane paste 10.0 without flares is utterly useless. Gaijin needs to concede a bit in favour of balance or they'll just keep creating unnecessary barriers and dead content...
F104J in japan has no flairs at 10.3 and it turns worse lol

Considering that in today's patch Swedish jets were given tracers, maybe someday Japanese pilots will be welcome. Of course, I have already adapted to use suspended unguided missiles instead of flares, but at speeds above 1200 the plane refuses to launch them D:
Teeeeechnically... The T-2 never had flares as it was a trainer and wasn't designed to have them.
The F-1 likewise didn't have flares or chaff, BUT could bring a Chaff pod. Best reason I can think of is that it was meant as CAS support or as a means to fly out anti-ship missiles which means they probably weren't meant to be engaged with anything IR, hence the chaff pod.
Both vehicles do need it though, especially the F-1.

T-2 is my most played jet by far. Have loads of videos using it. Sad that it got power crept out of use but I still love it all the same

the T-2 doesnt get Aim-9J's, it gets Aim-9P's which you can radar slave, which is super useful for offbore shots with it
i really like the T-2 for its looks in particular, its not so thin that it looks odd like the F-104 and its not too chunky, its in that sweetspot of just big enough and i always prefer the 2 engine look over 1 big engine

Speaking of Aim-9Js the F-104J can carry 6 of them now, tough out of all the F-104 I was unfortunate to fly so far, it was the most painful grind (and still not fully spaded). Other 104s at least can carry bombs and/or has flares to help farming (I skipped the 9.3s).
The 9.3 104´s are the most OP ones in the whole game lol.

if it were 9.7 it would be miles better, 10.0+ is shitty for F104s

I had a great time grinding up to the EJ with the T-2 recently. Friendly matchmaker and a fairly capable plane even in the uptier with the new missiles. You still run into plenty of other planes with no flares (or ones with very few flares like the A-5 and the 35XS) so while it sucks to not have them you're at least not alone in lacking them and are basically playing rocket tag with them. I used two Zuni pods, quite reliable as ghetto flares both front and rear aspect. I also would sometimes shoot a Zuni at a plane I was tailing that had flares to try and get them to waste a pop.
I just wish they gave either the T-2 or F-1 their guided bombs. There is literally no reason to grind either anymore, as they’re both just flareless planes facing all aspects. I still love both of them, but they both don’t do that well currently. Having better CAS capabilities would definitely get more people grinding them though. They both carried the Type 91/GCS-1 Guided bombs. (Basically an IR guided bomb kit that could be mounted on the JM117 and Mk.82 bombs). The F-1 also carried 9Ls, but that would move it up in br, so it probably wouldn’t be a good addition.

I'm not very good at missile thunder, but I actually really liked my T2 when I got it. I think being able to throw the nose on target to catch cheeky snapshots is a fun way to play...it's not that strong but you can shock people with the way you can bring the gun around onto them.
Recently grinded the japanese top air ranks, and the T-2 was by far the most fun I've had there
I had to talisman the t2 for my aj grind and I was actually pretty pleasantly surprised with it, no flares at 9.7 can be tough but it’s a unique vehicle and it was fun to play something different than the meta for once

I'd say about 90% (or less) of all planes are OP in a full downtier fe.: early Hunters, MiG-17, SK-60 or the Fokker D (just to name a prop too), are far worse performers when are the top of the MM.
right now im halfway through the modifications for f15j. The T2 helped me get everything before the f16AJ and was such beautifully braindead gameplay that i didnt use any other plane when grinding. Very many aces and high kill games they were every other game, 100% recommend tthat plane.
One of my all time favorite jet in the game. Started playing on it with K/D 10/40, but now it's about 200/100, very satisfied (I'm a ground player btw). Thx for video, u so good :)👺

I love this plane so much, I prefer running it with 2 Zuni pods since they are more reliable as flares tho.

Been grinding the Japan tree and finally got the f15 the t-2 through the f16 has been the most fun high tier
I grinded through the T-2 during the events on christmas... in like 100 games i got less than 10 games that havent been 10.3 or higher XD

I Luv'd this Jet when it first came out and the F1 but now is a little bit rough getting always up tiered in this jet never mind this jet its any plane doesn't matter what you play, hell you could play 12.3 and the game will find a way to MAKE SURE you get up-tiered either way this jet still has a place in my mind and in my hangar even and I take it out time to time to make sure it don't collect to much dust.
Its kinda funny, I have grinded with the T2 in the last few weeks and finally got past it
the T-2 is my best plane in terms of KD on my player card, bullying sea vixens was fun and then seeing them cry almost made me feel bad but gave me more of a reason to laugh
Ive recently gone through the japanese tech tree, and while it wasnt great the T-2 was still the most enjoyable of the bunch tbh. Currently stuck on the f4 EJ. Now that is pure suffering...

I really loved the T-2 and F-1 when I was grinding through them. The F4's to me felt way worse in terms of suffering at their BR - especially the 2nd one.
The T2 / Jaguars are all like this. Very very hard planes to fly. They don’t quite have the power or speed to make their lack of turning viable, unlike a 104.

I'm at the very least glad that it got 9Ps, back when it only had 9Es it's borderline unplayable
I spaded this and the F-1 recently, whilst the F-1 was fun if you manage to not get yoinked by a missile, the T-2 was such a treat to punish F-104 players with, that alone is worth it.

That aside i really like the T-2. Dodging and outrunning missiles is fun. The engines are great too.
The radar is also pretty good, but since it has no radar missiles it doesn't get used much. I like to lock someone at bvr at the start of the match as a psychological attack, but then i turn it off when i go for the kill.
honestly i suffer more in F-4EJ than this thing, but i agree, it gets boring quickly flying the T-2

I skipped the T-2, F-1 and F104J, it was easier grinding the EJ with the Premium Sabre
I don't know why but I found myself constantly bottom tier with this thing and 11.0 planes. This just make the grinding experience so terrible....
Unpopular opinion, but after trying out the F15J, I feel like I'm doing better in the F16AJ... It might be because at 12.3 I face the most experienced players there are, but idk to be honest

9.7 no countermeasures, it is fine and you have to dodge missiles or not take headons with a10s and su25. position yourself good and the thing is fun. 10.3 f1 no countermeasures and it is unplayable. you will die so quickly and there is mostly nothing you can do.

No agile eagle + super inflated BR due to 4x radar missiles yet it has a garbage radar with no pulse doppler. Has only rear aspect IR missiles
