I'm a new visitor to your site Mark. Your product and methods are so very good that I was expecting someone about twice your age to have sufficient experience to do this. My congratulations to you and to your tutors.
Excellent! The plans look great, and that trick about clamping to a right angle to cut the keys is a time saver. I would've spent an hour or so trying to rig up some kind of sled type jig or something. I'll be using cherry for the case and oak or maple for the inserts. You forgot to mention the blade angle should be 60 degrees for the sides and 30 degrees for the inserts. One Christmas gift idea down.
great idea im actually planning to use this idea as a floating media shelf for my mini projector and ps3 i keep in the basement thanks for the tech specs.
funny I want to make a hexagon wedding arbor that's about 84" across to serve as a backdrop for the wedding couple . I'm having trouble getting those 30 degree miter cuts on a 2x2 to line up. I'm using a chop saw to make the cuts then glue and pocket screw the pieces. Small pieces are easier to hold together but with pieces that are around 48" gluing a bit tougher. Lastly what's a parallel vs non parallel miter cut? I'm assuming it's angle on piece is the same direction on both ends of the piece. thanks
Just saw this and decided would make a great upcoming wedding gift. Thanks.
Great video. Expect wine should always tip a bot forward so the cork is wet.
Great video. Can't wait for more of this stuff besides finishing and contest videos. Mark is a great personality. Cheers! Chris.

Welcome aboard! Thanks for watching, we do appreciate it.
Beautiful project. Great and easy to understand explanations of the steps. Thanks!
I just created one for ourselves using your video as a guide. Thanks for sharing the craftsmanship with fellow wood workers! @Mark @Corey
mint mate and the free plans made it even better, would have liked splines instead of dovetail as they are easier but mint i must say
Very nice build ,it's got a very up to date geometric look .
Cheers

Great video with plenty of detail! How would you approach rounding the corners a little bit on the hexagon, inside and outside?
Sanding probably
You look kinda like the crazy guy from Hurt Locker. Nice job!

Excellent video, but which 4 corners are you referring to @8:47?
Thanks for sharing a wonderful idea. So how do I hang it up on the wall. What kind of diy bracket can be made ? Thanks once again
A French cleat is perfect for this

woodprix is full of awesome tips. Very helpful to me. Thanks
I did it myself thanks to Woodglut.
I bought plans from Woodglut and did it very quickly.
I have done very similar with Woodprix designs.
I really like it. Also check out Woodglut and plans.
