About the Cadence CR10 Specimen 10ft and 11ft Rods
Why make a shorter version of our hugely popular CR10 Specimen Rods? Well, simple, there are lots of anglers that love to fish with shorter rods, especially when fishing smaller lakes and rivers. Due to their length, both rods are super light with an ultra-responsive action, perfect for smaller species in lakes and rivers. The 10ft is a joy on the quiver with big river roach and makes a smashing float rod on small, narrow rivers, when a 13ft or 12ft rod is too long. There will always be room for a shorter specimen rod in your rod bag. The 11ft Specimen Rod is excellent for bream fishing on the feeder with the quiver tip. There will always be room for a shorter specimen rod in your rod bag.

    About Cadence CR10 Specimen Rods
When you have a Cadence twin tip specimen rod in your armoury you have one of the most versatile bits of kit you will ever own. Obviously, the decision of what test curve you are going to buy will be dictated by the species and the venue you are fishing but whether you are wanting to fish for roach, bream, tench or carp in still waters or the likes of barbel and chub on rivers there is a rod in this range that will see the job done. All the rods have a delightful through action on the one piece top which makes for the perfect ledgering rod but also makes a lovely float rod for stillwater and rivers. Then there is the second top to the rod which has two push-in tips making a fabulous tip rod for the likes of bream on stillwaters and roach and chub on rivers. These really are the next generation in Specimen twin tips rods with the added advantaged of looking just as good as they perform.

Cadence make some very good rods. These new Specimen rods look great. I think for me the 10ft would be ideal for smaller rivers and streams, and also tighter pegs. I like that a shorter handle has been designed into these as well.

Nice to see the handles aren't a ridiculous length. 10' 1lb test next?

Having used the 12ft versions of the specimen rods and finding them brilliant. I am really interested in looking at these.
Will they be at the Big One Shows. Another Cadence winner.

Why do I see so many comments of Avon not being good for float fishing. Because am looking for all rounder for my centerpin but largely float fishing close in on stillwaters but having the option to throw a feeder on would be spot on .

Hi Adam, think Avon rods make great float rods when fishing heavier gear for specimen fish. So versatile! Cheers James

What would you use the 1.25lb for? Tench, bream and small pike?

Just ordered a couple of the 10ft Specimen rods 1 for me & 1 for the Mrs. Love the look of the Specimen Rods wanted the 5000 reels but you had none left so the 4000 will do. We wanted a slightly shorter rod than our 12ft Barbel & Carp rods we have as will be Ideal for closer work on smaller rivers like the Teme. We also wanted a versatile rod that could also be used on still waters float fishing. As we usually do a lot of float fishing but would also like the option to switch over to ledger fishing when needed. Most of our fishing is Specimen Tench, chub, Barbel, Crucian, Rudd & Roach fishing. But to have a rod that can handle a carp if necessary is a great. After watching Des's videos of fishing with the Specimen rods & that he has been involved in the Design of the rods was one of the reasons we have bought them. They look expertly thought out in there design by an Experienced Specimen angler such as Des Taylor. Looking forward for them to arrive. Regards John & Tracey

Hey james! Love your attention to detail, I’ve got a twin top duo ( drennan ) 1: 5/ test curve with the Avon top & didn’t realise u could use the Avon top 4 feeder fishing, same principle as cadence I assume! I always assumed u couldn’t feeder fish with a tip that wasn’t pronounced with colour, & thought maybe it’s a different spec altogether from float fishing!

Hi! Yes you can use the avon top with a feeder / lead in heavier flows and when using heavier gear. Cheers James

It looks like the main tip isn't white on these 11ft rods but they are on the 12ft?

White tips are no good if the rod is pointing at the sky

Only against a sky background. Simple to change temporarily with Sensas float bristle paint. I'd chose a white tip every time, makes the best colour for a base coat.@@chrisguygeezer
