WOW!! That’s soooo simple. Thank you. Two questions if I may. Will this work as a dimmer for a few LED’s & is the display a simple 3 digit 7 segment display? Thank you 🙏
As far as I know, LED dimmers provide a constant voltage (12 / 24V) and variate the current (for ex 0-30 A) . As far as I can see, this circuit only controls the voltage output and has no impact on the current . So if you want to power a LED, you set it to 5V to limit the voltage (for a white LED - voltage differs for other LED colors), but unless your power supply provides max 20mA (ideally 10mA if you want your LED to last), it will exceed the max current supported by the LED and it will burn it. So you will need a current limiting element as well, in thia case, a simple resistor to protect the LED. I hope this helps

Dear Jeff, The amps a battery takes is dependant on the voltage. High amp chargers do so with high voltage. Therefore, setting the voltage at a low level such as 4 V for a lithium cell can only bring it up to its maximum voltage without high amps. Theoretically, you can keep a lithium battery at 4 volts permanently. The battery was already at a pretty high voltage so it wouldn't have taken much current. It would be better to have an ammeter just in case but I doubt the battery will be ruined at that low voltage because the small potential difference won't allow much current compared to a high voltage high amp bulk charge that later switches to constant voltage. 13.5 volts is a low amp charge for a lead acid battery, and you can keep it there forever too. A constant current charger does so by increasing the voltage and decreasing the voltage.
@@beyondwhatisknown that's not how volts and amps interact. You can have drastic ranges like 100A at 0.1V. @@SeanReevesD There is an equation which predicts amperage according to voltage and resistance. Everybody learns this equation in school. This low volt high amp circuit is used when you want to make something thick get hot, such as making a butter knife hot so it cuts webbing in your back pack factory, other plastic cutting requirements, or a classic soldering iron with a trigger. Tiny rechargable 2032 watch batteries will not pull huge amps at a small voltage difference, nor will a AA or AAA battery, nor will a small lithium ion battery, because small parts have a lot of resistance due to the fact that the electricity need to go through their small chemical electrolytes. A 12 volt car battery requires 16 volts to go into fast charge high amp mode, but once it's 80% full the intelligent charger will drop the voltage and slowly top it up. Then it will drop the voltage to .8 volts above the battery's 12.7 maximum voltage and let it sit there. My charger puts 2.1 volts into 1.2 volt rechargable batteries. I know because I've measured it. No massive amp dump. Battery internal resistance is different for each battery, but the chemical electrolytes do prevent the battery from acting like a thick high voltage copper cable that easily conducts power at low voltage differences.
