Ahhh, this is so crazy , my dad was stationed there 30 plus years ago , Villagio still looks the same, we lived off base after three months . Awe my absolute fav base and place to live as a Military Brat !

Thanks for the video and my how the military has changed. I was stationed in Vicenza way back in 1964 as a 17 yr old PFC there was no govt. housing for enlisted and actually there were almost no married enlisted in my whole battalion there were probably less than a dozen married enlisted and they all had to find their own place to stay. Good Luck with your stay there I loved it way back then
Was stationed there with my husband in 1974. Loved it! We lived right outside the base in a lovely apartment. Great memories.
I will be reenlisting and relocating to Italy. How exactly does military housing work out there?
Stationed there around 81-82. I was assigned to USAH Meddac. Our barracks were Co-ed.

i almost wound up there but i got pregnant with my first and they made me stay stateside my first tour, second tour i wound up in GE which the housing is the same in GE no fridge stove light fixtures and one 220 plug in each room i left my daughter with my mom stateside and moved in the holiday inn in augsburg. it’s not the holiday inn anymore but that was 30 years ago I had a great time though I just always wonder what it would’ve been like to have gone to vicenza. thanks for the video.
Say, Blyt u say u were stationed in Augsburg did u ever go to Munich and if so, did u party on the base which of course was the NCO Club bc I knew a lot of ppl from Augsburg that partied in Munich roughly 30 yrs ago

This is government leased housing! We’re about 15 minutes from base!

Hey! This is government leased housing about 15 minutes from base! There isn’t technically “on base” housing here, there is Villagio but it still is a few minutes away from base but last I heard they’re renovating it and aren’t letting anyone move onto it right now! Hope that helps, I get it’s a LOT when you first get orders haha!

Have you seen any houses in the community for larger families? Like small yards? Can anyone live off base or do you have to be e6? Thanks
There isn't "technically" any on base housing, there is villagio but they are renovation right now so everyone will live off base, so it doesn't really matter on rank or family size. There are a bunch of houses/townhouse/apartments that have private yards and stuff!

Nope! That came with the apartment! All of our appliances came with the place

Just found out we may be moving here in the near future. Did you get any say over housing or was it assigned to you?
If you go with government leased the housing office will give you 2-3 options of houses and you can pick which one you want !
@@KelseyRayanne do they take rank into consideration with housing? We're in Germany right now and everything is rank dependant and if you don't have any children the most you can get is a 2 bedroom 1 bath
@@whereinthewrld8 I think rank has to do with it but most people still get decent sized housing, we don’t have any kids and we’re lower enlisted and still got a large 3 bedroom 2 bath apartment!!
How does driving work over there ? How much does it cost ?
Where do you ship hhgs to ? Is there a specific address?
I’ve been to Korea, but anybody know how long you have to be in Italy when ur stationed there?
