Engaging in meaningful discussions, advocating for transparency, and pushing for policies that benefit citizens should be continuous efforts, not just tied to voting season.
This is a sad excuse for officials to peddle this type of answer. My domestic worker mother invested heavily into the education of her children. Most have post graduate qualifications. One excuse that is always made is that other African countries sheltered South Africans during the Apartheid era. My question to that is how many South Africans fled South Africa. What I know of is that it was just the actavists who the Apartheid government was after that fled across the borders of South Africa. It was not hundreds of thousands and even millions as is happening now in South Africa. It is insane to even compare the two and pretend it is the same. The few South African actavists who fled, fled from a repressive government that was looking to arrest them. Don't tell me that the 5 million foreigners in South Africa all fled from repressive governments or war. There are Egyptians, Senegalese, Nigerians, Zambians Malawians, people from Bangladesh and Pakistan just to name a few countries, what wars or repression are they fleeing from? . As for Zimbabweans they have a dictatorship government which many of them voted for, if they are not happy with their government they must stay at home and make that governments life difficult to make them change. That is exactly what South Africans did. South Africans did not flee in their millions like cowards to Neighbouring counties and burden the lives of the locals there.

6222 foreigners employed in pinlic service, my goodness 😳 SAns have now all the reasons to remove ANC from power. SAns are being replaced in their own countries, no country in the world does what ANC is doing to SAns.
Its very sad that SAns are not paying attention to what is happening in the country until they're completely replaced. This replacement goes with power, SAns will be powerless soon if this trend is allowed to continue. ANC is not the right vehicle to change material conditions of poor SAns.

Your frustration is understandable. It can be disheartening to see so many opportunities given to foreigners while citizens feel overlooked, especially when it comes to employment. This highlights the importance of holding leaders accountable not just during election times, but throughout their term in office.
None enjoyed employment for the last 16 years. The reason for this is that they do not qualify under AA as they deemed Kallard. Now I wonder what their or my great grandfather King DiniZulu will say about such government crap when I meet him in the afterlife.
Here in Cape Town I have seen Engineers with Masters degrees unemployed for years. They were let go to get equity in the govt departments. Josh Môrks.

There are so many foreigners who come to SA on pretext that they have certain qualifications but if you look at what they deliver you wonder. Are their qualifications really verified. Come on ANC wake up
Mdluli your questions are relevant thank you.
Are you saying that even now there are no South Africans in other countries? Lets leave the apartheid and talk about now.

This guy said he is in health and engineering. That's where the scarce skills are. Our justice needed interpreters who speak other languages beside the South African languages. Here are our nurses, doctors, and pharmacists at home. But there are Canadian jobs advertised all over the world every year
@kfutuahnkain86 I am not negating that . I am saying their government put an emphasis on hiring locals first. I am a biochemist, and I had this experience with research over there. They look locally first... ddnt say foreigners don't work there.

Public service employment must prioritise citizens and permanent residents (dare I say). Critical/security sensitive departments must be reserved for upright citizens. I also hope by 'foreign national', they don't include people that have now attained citizenship. People must not carry that label perpetually.
A Foregn national will always be a foregner.. Papers mean nothing.
Government is public service. Which critical skills are in administration which South African universities, colleges and technikons cannot train?
In Dept of PW foreigner Architects in key positions, at UCT in the same dept foreigners are preferred. We need to offer better packages to those professionals who are leaving to work overseas, the same as they do MP's that are not qualified.
