      Well the slow part at the end sound a bit like waltz but still it is not waltz. Actually I believe the name death waltz was using waltz for his meaning ( something like balroom ) so the title is something like death's balroom?

    • @Potato-qv6hq
      @Potato-qv6hq 8 років тому +13

      ***** death waltz didn't sound like waltz either, because no one knows what the hell it sounded like, (though i'm sure waltz didn't have gong duets) it's written as a joke and nothing in it makes any musical sense or any other kind of sense for that matter.
      the confusing between the two pieces came by when someone made a black midi of UN owen and the bloke who reuploaded it linked the song with Death Waltz because they are both impossible to play.

      Never played a touhou game in my life but I know the music well because of Vocaloid. This song in particular is practically a meme in any and all anime communities for being impossible to play (and as people have mentioned, he's playing an easier version, but his skill is still extremely impressive).
      If you're an anime fan and you like music, it's almost impossible not to run into Vocaloid and Touhou, especially if you're young and hungry for weeb shit.
      I still don't actually know what the fuck Touhou is other than it started as a bullet hell game and then fans made a million spinoffs. I don't know anything about the characters and frankly I don't really care lol.

      AniGa - Anime, Games & More While it's charming how pretentious you are, and how intelligent you pretend to be, bleeding a little less misguided self-importance would aid you well in the future.
      My comment was in reference to the character who the theme being performed belongs to - Flandre Scarlet (from The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, Touhou Project). Said character spent 495 years locked away in a basement by others for fear of her powers.

    • @SolaticSyot
      @SolaticSyot 9 років тому +9

      Ani Ga Actually, I don't see how that would be an insult really. I would have interpreted this as the kid is subject to abuse and was forced to practice the piano relentlessly. That's not the kid's fault, and nobody would say that as an insult towards the kid. At least any decent human being wouldn't use that as an insult. Maybe as a joke, but not to straight up insult him. Also, as someone else who knows a bit about psychology, I know not to assume things off such a small sample. I especially wouldn't claim to know what the person is going to say next of that.

      "To be a composer you don't even have to play an instrument"
      " It's not the art, it's the person preforming that's being criticized."
      what a time to be alive
      1- the arrangement is arguable, it's just the core theme mingled with some standard improvisation tricks
      2-the arrangement is critisized, not the kid, i personally am not a fan of this arrangement, but i don't even know if he's done it himself
      3-if you want to be a decent composer you have to at least study music theory, but it would be quite useless if you couldn't put it into notes through an instrument

    I doubt you guys could do the same.
    Its not easy to play this kind of songs, but I appreciate the kid's effort, even if it wasn't "perfect".

      KingShoter007 Well, I'm pretty sure the judges weren't pianists, either, but it's about how good it sounds, simple as that. Most people here praise the kid because the music is from a game they like (and because he's a kid, I get it, but children can learn things much faster than adults, and I assume he's been practicing for years). I mean, you can probably tell I like Touhou, too, but this arrangement wasn't very pleasing to listen to. Not discrediting the kid's hard work, though.

    The way some of you managed to condescend only by using piano buzzwords and name dropping easily googled titles of other irrelevant compositions is awe-inspiring. You managed to show dozens, maybe even hundreds of people that you're piano experts without having to prove it, and you tricked them into thinking that it mattered in the first place. You made yourselves feel superior by putting down a fairly harmless video about a boy and his piano, which I think we can all agree is what the internet is really about.
