    I know this video is two years old, but I just stumbled upon it, and I had to say thank you so much! I had a couple of candles I started burning a few years ago, and (before I knew better) I had let them start tunneling, so I set them aside for a long time. I tried the foil trick today, and it worked so well! Thanks!

    OMG THE FOIL TRICK! You have changed my life! :) I don't have any tunnel issues with my BBW candles but I do with some of my favourites from Target. Heck yeah! Problem = Solved!

    This was incredibly informative. I have been always a loyal Yankee gal but I have since branched out to BBW and Goose Creek etc. You give excellent information...thank you!

    I loved this video. I knew a few of the tricks but you def had some I didn't know. Like looking at the marble if the candle...I would've never taken that into consideration. And I totally get what you mean by wanting the smell to hit you when you walk in a room. I LOVE smelling good smelling stuff. I can not go into a candle store, or perfume section without smellin EVERYTHING lol needless to say I can spend hours in Bath and Body Works just smelling everything. I love the places that put out coffee beans to cleanse your sense of smell so you can smell everything accuratly without previous scents lingering.
    P.S. I was very happy to see you in my feed. I hated going a whole summer with out yoyr videos. You easily one of my favorites because you are so real :)

      Thank you Erica! I've been doing good with the multiple recordings on one day so its working out to being able to actually upload pretty regularly. It feels odd doing that but it seems to be working out well :) Hope I can keep it up! Only about 3 months to go!

    Great tips. I love BBW and Yankee, also. They seem to be the most fragrant and evenly burning. A tip I learned years ago from my grandparents is to use a little lighter fluid (now you can get Goo Gone, too) with a paper towel to remove any residual label glue and wax. Works great. :)

    The newer bbw candles rly do burn faster. I burnt thru a bbw candle in less them 2 days. The older ones, (last years) would take me AT LEAST 4 or 5 days to finish one of their candles.

    I heard of some Yankee lovers storing the jars upside down, in order to encourage oils to seep through the candle more evenly perhaps....or to rise to the surface of the candle.....not sure however I'm going to give it a go! Mel

    • @MrKongsMom
      @MrKongsMom  9 років тому

      +discopants “discopantsandhaircuts” and haircuts I tried that too :) It did result in the oils seeping into the lid for the Red Velvet cake that I tried it with lol! I would watch and make sure that does not happen with yours :)

      How do you care for candles that don't come in a jar? ( I don't know the correct terminology? lol) How do you make them burn evenly and not burn inward?

  • @lilblondehooker

    Thank you for this!! My small Gelato candle is tunneling, despite letting it burn a few hours the first go around. I shall be trying that tin foil trick!

    • @MrKongsMom
      @MrKongsMom  10 років тому

      Try that, OR take it back. I know its weird but those candles cost a lot. If they suck they should know.

      I used to have tunneling issues also... Since I have quit trimming my wicks on the FRIST burn I have had not one issue.

    I have a couple questions. I've always been into candles but never actually purchased anyway yet.
    how many candles do you light at one time?
    if you light more than one at a time, are the both the same fragrance?
    if you do light more than 1 (same fragrance) do you buy 2 of each fragrance every time you go candle shopping?
    if you do not light more than 1 candle at a time, how long do you wait to light another fragrance?
    sorry for all the questions, lol

    • @MrKongsMom
      @MrKongsMom  10 років тому

      Seiry Acedo I light anywhere from 2-3 at a time. Nope, I mix similar fragrances to get something totally unique and yummy. I just kind of buy what I feel like. I honestly just kind of do whatever I feel when I am lighting them in the morning. No method to the madness :)

    Btw if you put a bit of water in your tart warmer then putting in your tart or wax, when you are done it slides right out. No need to put it in the freezer anymore. I gave an old pump jar that I keep water in and near my warmer. Works like a dream!

    I believe the bbw candles are soy which burn evenly and more quickly which is why they burn so much better thank Yankee. Yankee is wax and tunnels like crazy☹️ so high maintenance.

      Hi Deb, honestly I recently repainted the house when we remodeled and I cannot remember that color. It was from Valspar at Lowes. I think Sumatra Blend or something like that?

    Hi, I was wondering what to do when you have the wax pool. Do you throw it out or keep it in the candle?

    • @MrKongsMom
      @MrKongsMom  8 років тому

      I'm not sure what you mean?

    • @mileysworld9425
      @mileysworld9425 6 років тому

      Dont dump it out bc that will make the candle go way faster bc just bc the wax is in a liquid state doesnt mean all the fragrance is all out. U could be wasting a lot if u did that.

  • @babyyvie
    @babyyvie 5 років тому

    My bath and body candles need 2 hours and my Yankee candles needs 5-6 hours to fully pool with an illumalid 😫😫😫 1/2 inch wick is good.

    Just checking, did you mean to say fragrance oils instead of essential oils?? Essential oils are plant based and fragrance oils are chemical based..Most of Yankee if not all are chemical fragranced..thanks for your help..

  • @ChuuChuuPanda

    You should smell the lid to know what they'll truly smell like. Not the actual candle itself.

    • @MrKongsMom
      @MrKongsMom  10 років тому +1

      ChuuChuuPanda I find I can smell the lids with Yankee but I get a more accurate scent from smelling the candle with BBW.
