Lovebites seems to be a pretty solid band, and this "A Frozen Serenade" song is pretty entertaining. I hope you enjoy my reaction

Great reaction and thank you for taking the time to react to them. They really are an incredibly talented band.
This is relatively light for them, they are master musicians and they truly excel in power/thrash/speed metal. But you can see here they are still very capable of toning it down and creating wonderful music with touch and soul. If you wanna hear the opposite side of the spectrum where they go very hard with blistering solos. I would suggest:
(Thrash) Break the wall - ua-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LB_WOLFPACK
(Thrash) Set the World on Fire - ua-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LOVEBITES
    (Powermetal) Holy War - ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LOVEBITES

    (Thrash) Thunder Vengeance - ua-cam.com/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LOVEBITES

Do not try to compare the behavior of Japanese viewers and Western (Europe, America). Another culture, other traditions. The Japanese public treat their favorite artists and bands with great respect. In addition, there is one important point that you do not know about. The LOVEBITES concerts throughout 2020 and 2021 have been canceled and rescheduled many times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This concert took place in Tokyo on March 26, 2021 in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the beginning of 2021, a new wave of Covid-19 began in Japan. A very tense situation was created, many people got sick. The Japanese government declared a state of emergency. The LOVEBITES concert tour was rescheduled from January 2021 to March - April 2021 and took place with mandatory anti-COVID safety measures: the hall was not completely filled (the number of viewers is limited, many people who wanted to get to the concert could not buy tickets) maintaining social distance between people, viewers must stay where they are, everyone is wearing masks, are not allowed to express their emotions loudly (shouting, sing ), only applause is allowed, disinfection (hands ), etc. , ect
If you want to see a more emotional reaction from the public (not limited by anti-Covid bans), you need to check out the songs from the LOVEBITES concerts in the pre-Covid years ( 2018, 2019 ). For example, you can check out the songs from the DVD / Blu-ray LOVEBITES "Daughters of the Dawn - Live in Tokyo" (2019) or from the DVD LOVEBITES "Crusaders Standing at Wacken - Live in Germany 2018" (the band's performance at the famous rock festival Wacken Open Air in 2018).

The Covid reference didn't occur to me before the comments. I've seen Japanese audiences go WILD for great metal-esque performances. I think their low energy in this one fed an incorrect feeling that they were phoning it in.

This concert was held during the COVID pandemic. The audience had strict rules about what they could and couldn't do, and unlike most Western countries, Japanese culture is one of compliance and obedience - so the rules were obeyed. Also, the fans there are there to predominantly to enjoy the elite musical talent on the stage, rather than just to jump up and down.
This is one of their tamest songs, so I don't think it is reasonable to dismiss them based on this one single song. If you like your music on the harder side (as I do), then you should check out some of their thrash songs, which are as good (and in my opinion, better) than anything released by Slayer or Anthrax. Also, they have a large catalogue of "Power Metal" which could be described as a cross between Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, but slightly heavier than either of those bands.
Of course, if you don't like hard music, then Lovebites obviously aren't the band for you. But for anyone who is a fan of 80s classic metal, the Lovebites are simply the best band playing that style of music today.

Sterile environment and they still brought the house down. If you want crowd engagement try Raise Some Hell from 2019 (pre COVID). The dual leads ( Midori and Miyako) a/k/a M&M are the best trading off, battling and wait to they harmonize flawless, you jaw will drop. Normally they are a Thrash/Power Metal band. This is not a good First Reaction song for a Metalhead - it's more of a 'See, we can do this too' song. I would suggest Reacting to the Title Track MV from their New (Feb '23) CD - I promise you a full-on Heavy Metal song - with all the solos you were hoping for. • @hiawatha.g

Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. And you dove right in the deep end with this one--I consider it a masterpiece on the order of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", Zeppelin's "Kashmir", the Beatles' "A Day in the LIfe" or Nightwish's "Ghost Love Score".
In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing.
In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. Their first song with Fami is “Judgement Day” ua-cam.com/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/v-deo.html
The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."
Here are more clips you should check out:
“Set the World on Fire” ua-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/v-deo.html from their 2021 concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”.
    “Don’t Bite the Dust” ua-cam.com/video/oHnKGEj1CMc/v-deo.html, from the same concert;
"Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: ua-cam.com/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/v-deo.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope.
    Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: ua-cam.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/v-deo.html;
And their most reacted-to video, “Holy War”: ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html
Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: ua-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/v-deo.html.
For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” ua-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/v-deo.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M.
For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” ua-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/v-deo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both)
While you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are four of the most spectacular:
    "Shadowmaker" ua-cam.com/video/Brmoln5Gxus/v-deo.html
This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world
    "When Destinies Align" ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html
    "Glory to the World" ua-cam.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/v-deo.html
    "Winds of Transylvania" ua-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/v-deo.html.
Finally, the audio tracks of some of the new album are up on youtube, and worth checking out. The band clearly came out swinging and wanted to make a statement. Every song on the album is a showcase of their incredible talent and songwriting capabilities. “Stand and Deliver” is a thrasher with a fun video of them in the studio. “Soldier Stands Solitarily”, the final song on the album, is being touted by some as the best thing they’ve done so far-I encourage you to see and decide for yourself!
You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

You almost vocalised my favourite comment about this song. It’s a Bond tie in if ever there was one. As for the audience, they were there under ludicrous Covid constraints. Nobody could shout…because the virus knows the difference. Lovebites were performing to a very restrained and restricted audience.
The band doesn’t play a song, it performs one. This song doesn’t warrant audience engagement…especially if you’re on a catwalk performing ballet. Believe it or not, Asami the vocalist is probably the best in the business at crowd engagement. She can play the audience like a fiddle. This particular song has a particular character and being a former ballerina, Asami uses her arms very gracefully throughout any performance, from thrash to ballad.
This is just a teeny tiny fraction of what the band is capable of.
Thanks for helping spread the word…they are criminally “unknown” to the vast majority of their potential audience.

Thanks for your reaction. Lovebites is not my #1 band, that is Band Maid, however I do find Lovebites song writing fantastic, Swan Song and Shadowmaker really stands out to me although I like their music despite of it being somewhat fast and heavy and not because of. Of what I have heard from them so far A Frozen Serenade is one of their slower songs, one of the reasons I like it so much, and I would also just been standing still quite and listen to it if I were there, it is that kind of song, sad and emotional. If you want a song with crowd interaction I figure the wolfpack, Lovebites fans, has already suggested Holy war, official live.. Have fun! :)

you may be the first one i've seen to react to this song as your first exposure to LOVEBITES. you kind of get the full palette of what they are capable of - miyako going to the piano - and midori switching to her enchanting spanish style acoustic. it' is one of their power ballads imo but you have to hear more of their heavy stuff to see their capabilities. for thrash : M.D.O. or hammer of wrath or break the wall. for power and speed metal 'set the world on fire' or 'holy war'. then there's the other 50 or so songs - all self written and all just as good and better. currently the best metal band on earth

Good attempt but your reaction is like a blind man who was asked to describe an elephant and so he went over to the tail of the elephant and felt of the tail and said "an elephant is like a small snake". By that I mean that since you didn't know that the audience was forbidden to yell or scream and could only clap you misunderstood the whole thing. Also, this was one of their softest songs and you didn't know that, so you thought that this song is representative of their music. Nope, most of their songs are harder and faster with the exception of 1 or 2. To get a better feel try "Holy War" live from Zepp Diver City Toyko.

I kno right!! I feel the same way...the dresses are a nice touch to the metal sound but it's just kinda boring that's why I love Aerosmith, The Stones, Queen, Rod Stewart, etc bc they're interaction with the crowd. The band Kansas in concert really didn't need theatrics but those bands are far & few between while on stage anyway

Guys, who of you recommended this song to a man who calls his UA-cam channel and his cap "Odin's Call" for an initial reaction video for LOVEBITES. ? Please excuse Odin's Call.
Info for Odin's Call : These women play famously, hard and fast : Powermetal, Speedmetal and Thrashmetal. But they are Japanese women. If you are waiting for them to bite off a bat's head, puke on the stage and take out their dick, you will be disappointed. Even though the LOVEBITES women name Pantera (but the original ones) as one of their idols, they won't do the "Hitler salute" or scream "White Power" at the end.
Please also note that many other of the numerous LOVEBITES "live" songs here on UA-cam took place during 2020 and 2021. Because of the Covid virus, the audience was forbidden to cheer, shout and dance during concerts because of this. For this reason, every second seat in the audience could not be sold and had to remain unoccupied during the concert.
If these facts don't scare you, then I recommend the following LOVEBITES for your next reaction video : 'If you are music lover, you will not be disappointed 🤘🤘:
