😂 I had to go back, that’s freaking funny. Levison really thought he made something groundbreaking.
She won our hearts ❤😂
A MUCH cheaper alternative would be to replace CEOs with AI and call it a day.
I doubt anyone outside the C-suite would notice.
Lol their jobs are literally just reading data and spitting out 2-3 decisions per day. So it makes sense to me. Have the AI draft resolutions and then the board can just vote on them.
time to consider higher taxes on industries that benefit from AI, and ubi.
Just like how we taxed companies for using automatic cars and computers over typewriters…oh wait we didn’t cause using technology shouldn’t be punished. If you the consumer don’t want AI produced content then don’t pay for it.
@@tiffanyroberts6460these mediocre actors and writers are done
@@leftifornian2066you think this is about the big stars? You think this about just acting? No. This about character actors that aren't necessarily stars or multimillionaires, and the smaller actors that aren't even millionaires. It's also about the companies wanting to force the really small actors and extras to sell their likeness for a paltry one-time fee, and for big stars to sell their likeness in death so that when they die the studios can use them over and over again. But like Ms. Drescher said in her fiery, passionate speech, this is about everyone of the laborers out there across the country in vast fields of employment, particularly those in unions or where AI threatens their livelihoods.
Fran ❤
I love to see Fran STILL being the revolutionary Queen!!
It is legitimately hilarious and infuriating that these executives seem to either think everyone is stupid, or they legitimately just cannot imagine that the solution to a problem cause by their bad decisions might include them taking a fucking pay cut
Not to defend executives (by any means) but I do wonder how much that pay inequality is also due to investors’ perception that a well-paid CEO is the best way to keep wages (and therefore expenses) low.
“We can always hire a new CEO for less later but if we let wages increase, we’ll never get them back down.”
@@calebmarmon1310 Seems like less of an investment issue or the fact that they need to generate money and more of an issue with how investment and studios are structured in general.
Perhaps we need a different structure.
No, it is you that don't understand, they are legally bound to make profit for investors, they owe nothing to the workers because the workers are mostly freelancers.
Do you know what else they can do, go to South America, offer the job of capturing hot South American people, then go to Europe, capture some Ukrainian refugees for a few euros because God knows they need them.
hire voice actors from different parts of the world who have great accent in English and then hire talent from everywhere else in the world.
how much do think it is going to cost talent outside the USA? a lot cheaper. And with AI, they can easily produce content for some streaming platform in some other country.
Executives don't really need you at all. They own the rights to lots of those stories.
Not even that, we in Latin America, can use AI to do entertainment. Imagine a young Del Toro that today is going to school, taking on any AI.
Bad writers have made all the wealth dry up. Good. Can't wait to see a bunch of writers on the streets in homeless encampments.
@@laughingvampire7555...you don't understand the strike then. They need only hire the person once than use their likeness without any compensation. This issue is more problematic then you understand. Next up you think they won't abuse yall? As is actors and writers are getting pennies what do you think they will pay you guys? The goal is to short cut however they can. Solidarity DON'T CROSS THE PICKET LINE!!
I LOVE that strikes give visibility to what is undervalued, what's taken for granted. When those people actually become invisible, when they really don't show up, then everyone realizes who are the truly important and essential links in the chain. And AI is sh*t, I just wanted to say
that (of course, those that feed off artists and spit out practically copies without authorization and without distributing the profit).
AI is revolutionary technology and this is just the beginning
Natural selection the weak will be left behind and the smart and strong people will flourish lol for the creatives
@krazykat122 yeah, try and get something "creative" without people. If all you care about is technology, go ahead. You sound 12 by the way, good luck in the job market, trying to get someone to pay you to do something AIs already do and you'll learn nothing.
Creativity and comedy come from the unexpected. All AI does is feed off of things already past in huge amounts, what we've already seen LOADS of.
@@krazykat122without creatives the shows you love wouldn’t exist
@@krazykat122also explain what natural selection is and how it’s applicable to the Hollywood writer’s strike
This is why we need unions and laws that empower them. It should not have taken several years into the streaming era for this to be getting addressed.
Yes let’s have unions protect the most privileged and elite in our society from corporations, let’s ignore how these people get paid into the millions for their best work, these are the people I should feel sympathy for, not the millions across the country losing middle class jobs due to government overreach.
@@tiffanyroberts6460We can worry about multiple things at the same time. Each industry can only protest/ demand what is theirs. Teachers can only demand changes for teachers, doctors can only influence the medical field, etc. Also, actors and people on the entertainment industry that are not famous are not as well paid as one would think, this has been brewing for years.
@@sodiumsodiumsodium1109 my point was why should I give a shit about talentless activist hacks that get paid thousands per episode to pull out sludge? Actors and writers are paid plenty in today’s market it’s not like they hide it at this point, all they hide is how bad their streaming services do. Yes they have been making crap for years and now they’re suffering the consequences of third actions.
@@tiffanyroberts6460This is actually about those that AREN'T the elites in Hollywood. Well, not JUST the rich elites anyway. Besides... those CEOs and studio executives, and shareholders are actually the REALLY rich ones, and the ones that do very, VERY little work compared to ANY- and EVERYONE else that works to make movies and television shows.
This is about smaller actors and extras, about CEOs trying to force the small actors/extras to sell their likeness so they don't have to pay them again. And for the big stars to sell their likeness in death, literally. Studios want - when an A or B list actor dies - to be able to use their likeness in films in the future, never-ending. This is also bad for anyone that wants to become an actor. If they have all these actors and their likeness to use at will already bought and paid for, why would they need new, fresh faces? Why pay anyone else ever again? It's about taking out the only element that truly matters: humanity.
All in the name of a perverse, bastardized form of capitalism: American Capitalism - an infected capitalism that has developed and mutated into a truly frightening, incurable or untreatable ungodly disease: greed.
@@tiffanyroberts6460...ever thought middle class jobs being lost is being caused because of corporate greed? Next up if you are complaining because remote work from home is more popular? Uuhhh people don't need a hovering controlling busy body stressing the worker out. Gov overreach? Please how about look at who is lobbying who and what those lobbyists are wanting! Blame the actual source of the problem. Yes the gov has issues but it's a machine that is ran by big money -_-
I won't be going to any movies until this is over.
CEOs get fat bonuses because people go to movies.
Neither guild is calling for a boycott yet. The movies out now have already been made. Still I understand why you feel like doing that.

@@1Kent unfortunately they seem to be playing hardball. But yeah if the guilds call a fall season boycott I'll be all for it.
They're just not training AIs on CEO because there's nothing to extract from those empty brains
Based on the Zabrov salary figure, the average pay of a writer is $259k per year. That's actually way more than I would have thought.
Dwayne Johnson has donated a ‘historic’ sum to SAG-AFTRA strike support.
“It’s the largest single donation that we’ve ever received from one individual at one time.”
Fran still looks great!
So the industry is currently set up to pay 1% of actors 80-90% of the salary of a production, that 1 percent “shows up in solidarity” (mainly because its great PR) but isn’t handing out checks to their fellow “wage slaves”.

Interesting. Where was WGA/SAG when automation hit the manufacturers? 🤔🤔🤔
Discussions like those at Swingers have been taking place all over Hollywood. Recently, at Jay London's comedy show inside Kanter's Kibbutz Room the harsh reality of the WGA SAG-AFTRA strike had settled in as well.
Whether it's Swingers or Kanter's Kibbutz Room, until Fran Drescher gets the Writers Strike resolved, the only people affording Swinger's Breakfast Granola or Kanter's Corned Beef Reubens and pickles are the AMPTP studio chiefs, agency reps and the occasional mail room bootlickers
Tv dark ages are upon us
Get ready for “Ass: The Movie”!
Yeah, because we weren't there with Velma, Rings of Power, or Halo.
All the execs have to do is walk into any LA Starbucks and start *actually* looking at the headshots and screenplays they've been using as coasters.
They've been upon up since the early 2000's
Embrace change! Change is a constant in life! You should always live as if it could all go away tomorrow, and plan accordingly. Those that fail to plan, plan to fail. Learn a trade that's actually essential to society. I hear there's a shortage of sewage workers. Hollywood pumps out sewage on the daily, so they already have the experience...
Thanks for this video, I now feel up to date with the situation.
Wow what was happening within gaming FOR YEARS NOW is now happening with movies how sad..
It time for a deal to be made and end the strike
Lol! This is quite The Take! Maybe -- just maybe -- if the "creatives" didn't turn insulting & alienating half their audience into a competitive sport then we might care more about their ridiculous strike. But, they did, and so we don't. 🤷 The good news is they can always learn to code alongside displaced coal miners. 🤗
AMPTP, WGA, SAG. It’s hard to tell who has the most disregard and disdain for the film and television working class and I. A. T.S.E. Guild and crew. AMPTP, WGA & SAG are all the elites rolled into one. All complaining about how much money the other ones are making while the rest of us fall into debt despair and face down foreclosure. They are all going to find a different attitude from the crews they will be depending on in the future, and it won’t be nice.
love to see the solidarity of not buying into the gossip rags misquotes and stuff
I mean, with all the quality shows being written today like she Hulk, batgirl, all the Disney remakes and the star wars series that are so awesome, how can they not pay them well?
Thank You for that
Inflation hits HOLLYWOOD. Welcome to the real world.
It will be a cold day in hell when actors tell Harry Flugelman what to do!
Studios should just hire foreign talents since locals are not working XD
Low grade actors want to be paid more like name actors. Truth is, they may only work about one week a month for about $2,000.
They then look at average people making $40K to $50K a year and think that's what they should get, because it's "a living wage".
They don't though :/ even if they happen to make that it's for that season then things can get dead depending if they can get picked up for something else. Not only that NOT EVERYONE IS AN A LIST ACTOR -_- Most people in SAG can't even qualify for health insurance that requires 27k minimum annually. Please update your facts they are grossly wrong
How many A star celebrities think they shouldn’t earn ridiculous amounts of millions? Non I am sure. Your in movies. Big whoop. The people around you and under you make it all happen just as much as you. Why do the actors and head of companies only deserve the multi millions? Time for change.
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Chapter by Chapter / Verse by Verse !!!!!!!

Hollywood is over
Hollywood has been over for years it’s just the last dying whimpers left.
Good
yeah i guess maybe but maybe better if mediocre actors and writes are paid not to act and write
Hope they stay on strike Forever
It doesnt everything they write is shit its absolute garbage that noone wants to watch they dont matter content on YT is way more captivating and well done. I remember a short film i saw 3 years ago. I cant remember a single good movie made in the last 5 years.
Sadly Fran, AI is the prove that they can exist without you the creators. You are already history.
BOOTLICKER!
I hope these do-nothings lose so mightily lmao
Sorry but its the job you chose. Why these people should be paid more then a public servant is beyond me. Dont like the pay get a real job like everyone else no one holding a gun to your head.
These people really think they should make $100,000+ a year because they won’t cancel their 27 streaming services and spend half their income on Uber eats learn how to be a responsible adult and ur problems magically start going away
no one cares about this strike.
Enough already get back to work!!!!
I found the delusional comment section on UA-cam i guess. If you think that these writers should be getting paid more for garbage content you're quite clearly delusional.
Woke hollywood millionnaires go on strike! 🤣🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂😂🤣😂😂
This is actually about those that aren't the elites in Hollywood. This is more about the smaller actors, even the extras. It's about CEOs trying to force the small actors/extras to sell their likeness so they don't have to pay them again. And for the big ones to sell their likeness in death... literally. When a big star dies, they want to be able to use their likeness in films in the future, never-ending. This is also bad for anyone that wants to become an actor. @@FLQueerLiberal1982fyi. These are bots. Every channel talking about the Strike.are being hit by a mass boting.
@@FLQueerLiberal1982Right, and who are the greedy ones in this situation? You guessed it, folks that vote the same exact way you do. Do you see a problem with that?
@@DemonDog444 no... Studios want to pay one-time fees, or very low reoccurring fees... so they they don't have to pay actors to act, and instead want their entire likeness (appearance, voice, and anything else the corporate legal community can wrangle up and define as "likeness"), even after the actor dies. The big stars do make a lot of money, yes, but most actors don't.
Besides, as it stands - and has stood since the days of studios and contracted actors/players came to an end - actors have the right, and like having the right, to choose the roles they take and attach their name to. But the studios, the CEOs, the shareholders, they make a lot... especially the CEO, VP, and other executives. As usual, corporations want to be greedy, and keep the money for themselves through outrageous salaries, annual salary increases, stock buy backs, bonuses, and dividends.
And yet, they're the ones looking to put screenwriters out of work, period. They want to use AI to write screenplays. They might let writers polish the AI's screenplay, they might let writers write the outline, or the story treatment (which is like a short 30 page novella).
@@FLQueerLiberal1982lmao a lib 🤢😂
I DO NOT feel sorry for these actors. you sold your souls. you thought there wasn't gonna be a time when the devil was gonna collect?? i hope this put all these demons out of work tbh. you obviously followed the wrong agenda and now your paying for it.
Some writers deserve more, not all. A union strike dosent really work here because of that. It’s not a standardized labor. Good writers, should be compensated properly. They brought more value to the project, that should be reflected.
There's already more quality shows out there that anyone can ever watch. With this being the case, why should anyone hire a "creative" ever again?
Creatives are people, and shows that contain characters with humanity in them must be written by human beings who are creatives. AI cannot replicate humanity in writing, storytelling, or acting.
@@idekanymore8361 First off that's not true. You simply can't know what AI will or won't be able to do in the future. Second off it's irrelevant it hasn't been shown we even need new shows at all. Why do you need new ones when you haven't even watched all the old ones that are good yet?
There's already more interesting comments on the internet that anyone could ever read. Why would you post a comment when you know someone probably has already said it? Because you have something to say/ an opinion and want to be heard, that's what art is about ❤
