he reminds me of my old GM when he had the Vamp prince tell our noob party of kindred we would die super death if we did what we were planning and tried to hunt the werewolf in central park. And we didn't listen so we almost had a party wipe with the one social specced high humanity vamp making it out.

Yup. Werewolves are maybe the strongest supernatural beings out of the spiritual realm itself in the setting. Its to the point the strongest of vampires will struggle against your average, run of the mill werewolf.. and to make things worse a werewolf is rarely ever alone.
And then you consider that despite all this power.. this war Big D Mentions, that basically werewolves acting as a kind of spiritual police? Werewolves are slowly but surely losing it... Because even they are weak compared to the spirits they have to fight and reign in (heck, its even maybe the biggest reason why werewolves operate in groups).

They're legit terrifying in The World of Darkness.
Our party was pretty high level Vampires and all it took was one Werewolf to SLAUGHTER the entire group.
It took us a year to come back to VTM after that...

      And that is if you:
      1. Only face a single Werewolf and not a pack of them
      2. If you only have to fight the Wolves and none of the other Fera, of which some put Werewolves to absolute shame in terms of lethality. Like the f*cking Weresharks!!!

Canada sells bag milk, but somehow I don't think that Big D went to a specialty store for imported unpasteurized milk. More likely he took a gallon zip-lock out to a farm he was trespassing on.
The hotel in LA is probably a reference to a section the the video game, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. A comic reviewer's patreon sponsored review of it was my introduction to World of Darkness. "Why am I in Freddy Kreuger's Boiler Room!?" "Screw your falling elevator!" "Who's Johnny now, asshole!?" "I'm a vampire! I'm a vampire! I'm a..."
I've heard anecdotes about what nonsense players got up to with ghouled animals. Invisible rats with spy cams strapped to them, ghouled bears, and ghouled racoons with cigarette lighters and pipe bombs.

Dunno if they doing new or old WoD. Can't speak to what the Tszmitce (f'ed the name I'm sure) but if we doin old WoD the younger ones are FAR more likely to have Vicissitude instead of Koldunic Sorcery. The funny thing about Black Shuck is that it's more likely a Hellhound, which I don't know if they exist in something like Demon: the Fallen, a very Hellish part of the World of Darkness.
This is because A.) Shuck, as far as I've researched, mostly appears near crossroads, symbolic of the path between Heaven and Hell; B.) Its form and powers: pyromancy, teleportation, a projected aura of fear, amd maybe even foresight; these are powers usually associated witb demons and the like (I'm a Catholic who likes studying demons and angels, y'know best to distinguish friend and foe, so I do know some small bits of lore here and there); and C.) Britain has a history of strange and demonic folk stories, like Spring-heeled Jack for example or the Graveyard-dwelling Black Hounds.

Well, hellhounds technically do exist in World of Darkness, but they're not in Demon: the Fallen.
In Vampire: the Masquerade and its Chronicles of Darkness reboot, they're basically just dogs that were either ghouled by vampires or somehow managed to acquire supernatural powers via sorcery (it's not said what kind of sorcery, and what info I managed to dig up doesn't say whether it's Infernalist shenanigans or what!).

That Vampire game is coming out in like a month. SwanSong. I am disappointed by the slow progress on WoD. There should be a bunch of at least decent games from them by now. But it has been nearly 2 decades since Bloodlines and then there was a couple hunter games and werewolf games... that just were bad to maybe mediocre. Then there was the whole farce of that MMO that got cancelled. This IP should be easy to make some good video games with.

    • @bthsr7113

The failing that a game about playing an ecoterrorist werewolf was meh to bleh is..... such a tragedy. In concept, it is such a rich opportunity for memorable action packed gameplay.

    • @mattroxursoul
      @mattroxursoul 2 роки тому +3

@@bthsr7113 The IP is a good one for a big mixture of different games. Werewolf and Vampire being the best for RPG type experience. I think the worst one would probably be the Mage stuff. Just because they are so powerful that it would be hard to really do them justice.
Those Hunter games were alright for what they were. But that license could be good for a lot of different stuff besides just 4 player co-op. Not really familiar with a lot of the other works but I imagine some of the others would be good for at least antagonist stuff if they got around to it.
But until they can make a Vampire game good I am not holding my breath. Vampire should really just write itself with how vast the lore is. I honestly feel like I could write a better story with a weak vampire trying to survive modern nights in a small city while hiding away being a hacker/programmer.
