Studio versions of Wolf Alice songs are always great but somehow the songs feel like they come alive when played live. I always look forward to seeing their music live because for me that often ends up feeling like the definitive versions. This is such a awesome version.....
I agree, their live version of Last Man on Earth is perfect
Saw them at Reading, wasn't expecting anything incredible based on their albums. Was very pleasantly surprised.
I agree. Seeing videos of live performances is what made me like the band much more, and understand what they’re aiming for with their music. Sometimes they make odd production choices in the studio that turn me off at first, especially in their earlier work.
@@Luschan Yes very much agreed. I sometimes find the studio stuff feels like it is too "busy" sounding. So much going on with many layers of sound that can give me the feeling that the song itself gets a bit lost amongst all the bells and whistles. While live performances tend to be more straightforward with less decoration so to speak.
They are a live band and that's what I liked and why I bought their CD's because it means they are a sure bet
First time hearing this band. I don't think it will be the last.
What a tune
Same song: ua-cam.com/video/qTrIrqoZu-A/v-deo.html “I Am One” by the smashing pumpkins
Entourage opening song!
These songs from this weekend are great, but the intros and outros are ten times louder then the song.
Ok but ellie looks like a freaking goddess
I like how Wolf Alice are the type of band to make space for the Keyboard/ Tambourine player who’s not in the band. He got an equal amount of stage space at the back as Joel (the drummer)
Really says a lot about the band and how humble they are. They could have easily Joel’s drum kit in the very middle. Love Wolf Alice ❤️
I wish they would have turn up the volume of the mic!💥
I think it's doing on purpose, in the studio version is the same
It supposed to be like that
Not sure why it's taken me this long to watch a live clip of these guys... Fuck, they're so good.
Need to see these live.
This starts like Would by Alice in Chains
Wolf Alice in chains
And sounds as Chreub Rock by Smashing Pumpkins
It’s a Note For Note Copy of “I Am One” by The Smashing Pumpkins.
Rightt
id say more Nirvana You Know Your Right but ye can hear Alice In Chains in there as well.
Man when the guitars come in it fuckin hits
Dang the bassist is so animated…got the adrenaline pumped🔋
Can't explain to you how excited I am to see them live again.
Her pulling her top up is such a cool move I can't explain it
It's called being hot
It’s not original and tove lo does it all the time
2000's j.lo and gwen stefani did it all the time
@@denachtconducteur7070 that's pretty interesting
Been around a long time before Lopes and Stefani.
Strong 90's vibes. LOVE IT
I hear a lot of Jane’s Addiction in this song.
Garbage and Smashing Pumpkins.
Smashing Pumpkins meets Garbage with Blondie. Rapture styled rap vocal.
Seems like they have fun writing music. Its a style you cant mass produce, that 90s grunge influence. Great live performance.
Actually I hear a lot of Jane’s Addiction in this song. It
One of the best live bands around.
Seems like the child of U2's industrial albums Achtung Baby, Zooropa, POP
Really enjoyed this performance. Wolf Alice were one of the best acts on this Weekender! And a welcome relief from all the rather mediocre urban R&B type artists. (Except Mabel)!
Same song: ua-cam.com/video/qTrIrqoZu-A/v-deo.html “I Am One” by the smashing pumpkins
this song is too powerful, I love it!
My favorite band! Versatile, well produced and tight live. Joel’s playing is awesome and who doesn’t love a great riff!
Wolf Alice I love you, thank you so much for coming and touring the U.S. I needed a night out to your music so bad, it was therapeutic really.. Love the atmosphere of Wolf Alice shows..
Only just discovered this band...late to the party...but like their sound/image...bit retro..this track reminds me of the Red Budda Plastic Band...
You talk 90s vibes! I love it!
🤘🏻😝🤘🏻 its Wolf fucking Alice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love this song! I could listen to it all day long...
I kind of hate they changed the last chorus for the live version. I'm talking about the last "AAAAAH" Ellie sings at a higher note.
WOW, oh how I've missed your live performances! WELCOME BACK WA!!!!
Kurt would of loved this band the bass intro sounds very reminiscent of Nirvana You Know Your Right, great tune.
This is everything, best band in the UK
Best MAINSTREAM band in the UK.
Black midi...
@@shannonbusley I've seen them live and tried to get into them, but I just don't see anything special about them. I know a few people who think they're really good, though.
I love them, but Royal Blood takes it for me
This is so amazing, the whole new album is. Can't wait to see them live someday!
Sounds like a billy corgan opening
they are such an awesome band....for me i wish Blue Weekend was more on the heavy side. i just listen to play the greatest hits on repeat...
They are so tight here...the power thus performance puts out. ....
This band deserve more success. A talented island surrounded by a quagmire of trash.
my favorite rapper!!
i love this band and i cant wait for the new album, bring it on
Smashing Pumpkins meets Luscious Jackson.
I am one
Love this, sounds like something taken from the 90's Smashing Pumpkins or Chilli Peppers. So cool!
Same song: ua-cam.com/video/qTrIrqoZu-A/v-deo.html “I Am One” by the smashing pumpkins
I was thinking the same thing. It's like a modern take on the 90's.
slight Transvision Vamp vibe/ I like 🤩
Wolf Alice is at a very important moment in his career, which is quite versatile and creative. They should not neglect their musical production, which must be of quality.
Since a band of this level should not neglect this! ....as a comment says (Yes) closer to Smashing Pumpkins, nothing close to Alice in Chains. Felicitaciones por mantener el Rock vivo! / muitos parabéns.
Same song: ua-cam.com/video/qTrIrqoZu-A/v-deo.html “I Am One” by the smashing pumpkins
This is just awesome.
Amazing band!

She does 😭😭😭😭

Como não amar wolf alice? Eles são demais.
the bass intro reminds me of would by Alice in chains
Same song: ua-cam.com/video/qTrIrqoZu-A/v-deo.html “I Am One” by the smashing pumpkins
this is so sick
Ripoff of "I Am One" by Smashing Pumpkins
I’m late ⏰ to the WA Party, but class band, bit of a Muse vibe on this hit
No puedo esperar al Álbum
If this woman fell into hell, she would even burn it!!

Anyone who has heard the song “I Am One” by The Smashing Pumpkins since around 1991. This is a Note For Note Copy.
Wolf Alice you are The BEST!
Watched them live on Glastonbury set. WOWSAS.
Similar to Alice in Chains.
Same song: ua-cam.com/video/qTrIrqoZu-A/v-deo.html “I Am One” by the smashing pumpkins
Nicee
The best part of this song is its run time. In and out in 3 min. Great song.
Same song: ua-cam.com/video/qTrIrqoZu-A/v-deo.html “I Am One” by the smashing pumpkins
@@wildmercuryfilms Whatever man. Music is Music. Wolf Alice made it their own. Simple melodies like that get borrowed all the time.
@@patrickcarroll1754 I’m not against it. It’s a note for note copy. Led Zeppelin copied people, too. So did Red Hot Chili Peppers. It’s totally fine. But if you listen to “I Am One,” you’ll see it’s the same. I saw Wolf Alice in concert at a small venue in Kansas City in 2017. They are amazing. Peace Brother
Very glad to see and listen you!..🇰🇿
I really like it but I can hear the playback!
wow, they're all grown up
Loveeeeeeeee
In this song, very powerful energetics!👍🔥
loooveee
nice
Thanks!
This is literally a Note For Note Copy of “I Am One” by The Smashing Pumpkins. ua-cam.com/video/qTrIrqoZu-A/v-deo.html
The intro and main riff are reminiscent of it but the vocals/melodies are nothing like.
@@ScottBlade1889 Obviously, the lyrics are completely different. I’m a fan of Wolf Alice, and saw them at a small venue in 2017 in Kansas City. But if you listen to the entirety of I Am One and the entirety of this song, you’ll see that “musically,” 60% of this song is I Am One. Peace Brother.
@@wildmercuryfilms I'll admit i didn't notice the resemblance until i saw your comment and i'm a big SP fan. The first 30 seconds or so does have a very strong 'I Am One' vibe to it and the main riff is pretty similar but that's about it. To claim that it's "note for note" or "musically 60% copy" is an exaggeration. The vocal melodies throughout and structure of the rest of the song are completely different, especially the chorus.
@@ScottBlade1889 I personally enjoy similarities in songs, like My Sweet Lord and She’s So Fine, which George Harrison got sued for. I don’t think people should Sue, just enjoy the compliment. Yes, obviously, the vocals are completely different in Smile compared to I Am One. If you listen to Mary Jane’s Last Dance and Dani California, you’ll hear a lot of similarities. And Jimmy Page actually Stole Dazed And Confused from Jake Holmes. Decades later, Jake Holmes got paid handsomely for that theft. In the case of Dazed And Confused, I absolutely think Holmes should have sued because that was wholesale robbery on Page’s part.
@@wildmercuryfilms Those songs you mention were straight rip offs though. If you take away the vaguely similar guitar riff the rest of the song is nothing like 'I Am One'.
Hi
2:46 Nirvana :)

Hey bbc radio 1, fill in the full version of the live wolf alice 2016. this is the coolest !!!
Can't really understand what she is saying... Great sound though
look at them they are so cool
This is a GREAT song.
Same song: ua-cam.com/video/qTrIrqoZu-A/v-deo.html “I Am One” by the smashing pumpkins
@@wildmercuryfilms The intro bass riff is similar, that's true but it ain't the same song in terms of arrangement and melody.
@@therepublicofcynica Yes it is. Listen to all of “I Am One” in its entirety, and this song in its entirety. 60% of this song is “I Am One.” Obviously, the lyrics are different. I saw Wolf Alice in 2017 at a small venue in Kansas City. I am a fan of theirs, and I like influences. But this is nearly the same song. Perhaps she got Corgan’s permission: He likes female musicians, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he gave his blessing. I haven’t seen a theft like this since Led Zeppelin stole Dazed and Confused from Jake Holmes.
Indeed, smiling is something very important
Once again, you have to love the auto-generated captioning…”is [music] these”…well…yeah. L Great song.
AOTY?
