  • In this video, I'm taking a short internal flight with Sansa, Costa Rica's largest domestic airline on a hop from the deep jungle of Drake Bay up to the nations capital, San Jose. This flight was on board their Cessna C208B Grand Caravan.
I'll show you the journey to the airport, what flying out of Drake Bay is like, what to expect when flying Sansa, as well as the arrival into San Jose.
    I flew with Sansa: flysansa.com/
I'd previously spent 4 nights in Drake Bay, where I spent a night in the jungle while trekking the Corcovado National Park, check out the video here: • Drake Bay and Corcovad...

Minute 11:46, when your are arriving to the terminal in the purple caravan you can see 2 pilots and the ramp guy taking a photo. I m one of that pilots, i got my Caravan rating that day.

It’s such a small world, that’s incredible! Congratulations Diego on your type rating too, wishing you all the success. A fun aircraft to be flying for sure!

@@jetawayjoe Thank you, I used to fly Let 410 and twin Otter before, but the Cessna Caravan is very very easy and fun to fly. And its true very small world.

My experience with Sansa occured in FEB & MAR 2024 through Natural Habitats. We flew San Jose (SJO) to Tortuguero Airport (TTQ) hence to Drake Bay (DRK) and return to SJO. I believe these flights were all charters as our group took up all seats on the Cessna 208 Caravan. The operation was smooth and seamless. Natural Habitats steamrolls all problems for guests, hence, Sansa performed wonderfully.

Glad you had a good experience Joe, mine was definitely a tale of two flights. I found that when things went wrong Sansa were very poor in communication and service, but when it goes right were a good and fun experience on the Caravan!

TI-BKW was imported to Costa Rica in 2022 from Saipan. It was built in 2019, prev reg N910BS operated by Tandem Skydive Saipan. The aircraft still wears the original paint scheme with some slight variations.

Hi! Thank you for sharing! I am considering a Liberia - San Jose flight and was wondering if you can take a regular large checked luggage with you that is more than the 30lbs I see on their website. Any idea? Thank you!

Thanks! I’m in no position to be able to comment on that, you’d really need to speak to Sansa. The planes are very small so the weight limit is likely 30lb per checked bag for a reason.
