Scream 1 will obviously always be the best but the fact that Roman basically started it all himself and was the only solo killer makes it unique in a good way.

They really should have had more scenes in the first hour. But i think it makes it scarier that she didnt know him at all. Imagine finding out you have a brother but hes out to murder you.

I do actually love that as a fully realised idea for a scream film. The characters spend the whole film avoiding the killer and trying to figure out which one of their friends it is, only to learn that this time the killer never ingratiated themselves and they have no idea who they are

On IMDB there was a quote i think from Wes Craven that the script did infact have his girlfriend be the 2nd ghostface but due to Columbine the studios didnt want any bad press so they pressured them into not having multiple killers

@@atimetraveler4910 The film was recorded in such a way that Angelina was the second murderer. In the end it was changed, so, yes, she was the second Ghostface when they were shooting the movie, but canonically Scream 6 confirmed that Roman did it alone
Watching this particular scene again, I can actually see the resemblance between Sidney and Roman. I could pass them off as siblings. Kudos to the casting director for that!

Playing a killer in any Scream movie looks like the best acting gig. All the actors, post-reveal, just go balls-to-wall in the best way and it is always so fun watch!
Heres a fact, In Scream 6 Kirby acknowledged Roman as the only solo killer of the franchise, calling him the most ambitious and big kudos to him. Kirby was lowkey fangirling for Roman, in fact when they were talking about all the previous ghostfaces, all the other she said there names then skipped them, Roman was the only ghostface that she complimented and acknowledged as the king!
Oh another fun fact: in a interview with Screenrant Both Melissa Barrerra and Jenna Ortega said there favorite ghostface is Roman. Hes my favorite as well. The only one who appeared to be super-human. Roman was the brains and the muscle all by himself, whereas other ghostfacee that had partners had 1 of them as the brain and the other as the muscle. Roman was everything all by himself. There will never be one like him again.

Roman Bridger was the most legendary Ghostface in history and makes all the other killers look ameteur in comparison. Even Billy was scared of him. The way Roman refers to him as "kid" I loved that. Also roman giving him pointers and giving him ideas was a nice touch. Billy was a great ghostface but no mastermind. Roman was the real mastermind.
Simple. He is the beginning. The man who made all this happened. The ultimate Ghostface behind the whole story. Like a zero patient in a pandemic.
They just tacked on this far fetched stupid Roman story... and ruined it.

He thought Cotton had Sidney's phonenumber? Why would the man who was put in prison for a year because of Sid have her contact info of all people? No... it's just silly. You go to Dewey, Sid's father etc... not Cotton Weary.
Now why would Roman not want Cotton alive for the reveal of the tapes of him with Maureen... what an absolute waste... Especially from his director's point of view it makes absolutely no sense to kill Cotton without letting him know who he is. They just did it for shock value... and it's really stupid.
He took the broken award from a crimescene (that was already locked up by security) after killing Sarah Darling. Claiming the broken head of the award was a message for him. How'd you get that thing buddy, you just walked into the crimescene with Gale and the rest? The movie should have ended there really.
Why was he so stupid to get himself taken into custody when he had stuff to do? Ok this could have been part of the plan, but it doesn't make any sense from a killer who is working alone with so much more in the works which all has to be done up to his birthday. Makes no sense!
He locks himself in with Sidney, but not Dewey, Gale and Kincaid... so you have no control over them once you are in the other room. Good they didn't see the need to call for any backup... makes no sense. Roman didn't even try to terminate the other three before Sid's attack to make his plan more fullproof.
His tapes of Maureen, Cotton and Billy's dad were just gonna stay in that projector room? The cops were just gonna ignore that? Was he going to just act a victim, disappear after killing Sid or something? We don't get a clear idea of what his plan is after it's been completed.
He just left the costume & multi voice changer thing lying around in an obvious spot for all the others to find and take... So that fake message of Sidney threatening Milton would easily have been dismissed.
This movie and Roman's actions don't make any sense.

Out of all the films, this is my favorite scene of Ghostface speaking. The whole way he says, "She had a new life and a new name....Maureen PRESCOTT! YOU were the only child she claimed, Sidney! She shut me out in the cold forever, her own SONNN!" and the background music were an epic buildup to his reveal.
Yeah, the Percy Jackson movies and The last airbender need to take notes. THIS is how you do suspense and action, you build up to it, making the audience on the edge, so that when it ends, your mind is blown

Roman never imagined there would be anything called ghostface or Woodsboro murder, it was Billy Loomis and Stu Macher who came out with the idea to turn reality into movie, and create the franchise called Scream/Stab. Roman thought he'll use Billy to kill Mauren, because Roman did not recognize Mickey Altieri, if he did, he would use Mickey instead. But Billy ended up becoming friends with a movie freak who wanted to make movies from the kills. The actual creator of ghostface, Stu "Shaggy William Afton" Macher.
He lit the fuse and he knew as soon as everything blew up Maureen would be dead and Billy and stu would the ones with blood on their hands

Roman is definitely underrated. He’s technically the one that kickstarted the Scream plot, and he did all of it by himself. To this day he’s the only Ghostface that did it without a partner.

Another interesting thing to note about Scream 3's Roman is he is techincally mentioned/or referenced in every sequel after
SCREAM 4: Romans little cousin Jill actually brought his name up to Sidney but they unfortunately cut that line and removed it from the script while filming.
SCREAM 5: The actor that played Roman (Scott Foley) had a cameo in the hospital scene, if you watch closesly Tara on her tv screen is watching dawsons creek and you can see Roman in it, it was a nod to him because the new directors are huge fans of him as they said in interviews too.
SCREAM 6: Roman was mentioned many times, once by detective bailey saying his name and kirby shooting back saying "ghostface that was directing stab 3" and then another time where Kirby pointed him out as the only killer out of everyone that did it all alone without a partner. Whereas the rest of the killers were only mentioned once in scream 6, Roman, billy and stu were all mentioned 3 times by name in scream 6. One more thing..in the shrine roman has the biggest prop the giant happy birthday roman sign was in the shrine and it was the biggest prop used for the shrine. All Scream movies technically pay huge homage to Roman! Sadly Scream 4 they removed that roman reference literally while making the movie.
Perhaps what i find most interesting and fascinating as a roman fan, is i recently found out they have a whole group dedicated to him online, he's celebrated daily like he's the hero. It is getting scary how obsessive and united has fanbase has gotten. Not even Billy and Stu have a fanbase as loud and crazy as Romans fanbase. It's only getting more and more insane. For a character that barely had screentime, he sure left a major legacy. Could you imagine if they had given him even more screentime or development? He'd be virtually more iconic than Sidney herself. The actor scott foley gave an epic emotional delivery. He was the deadliest, smartest and strongest ghostface, a warrior with the most achievements and kills. I'm happy his fanbase has become an army. ❤❤❤❤❤

@@atimetraveler4910 it was a meh retcon that probably looked good on paper but the execution on film left a lot to be desired. Roman being the only killer takes away the grounded tone this franchise was known for. The guy would literally have to be in two places at once in order to be the only Ghostface in this movie. Also, Roman wasn’t kept as the sole killer because “Craven believed in him.” It was the because the Weinstein brothers came in and started charging things with the script. Other than Kevin Williamson not writing the script, It was heavy studio meddling that ruined this film.
The third movie certainly has its flaws, but it kinda fills some gaps that were left in the first film. All we knew in the beginning was that Maureen had secret affairs in the town that got her killed in the end, nothing more... so I really like the fact that in the last movie of the trilogy we get to learn more about Maureen's character and backstory (After all, she's the reason everything happened). This is why I also appreciate the idea of having Roman as Maureen's rejected son and mastermind behind all the events. Again, there are certain aspects of the third film that could have been improved, but I think the trilogy itself was so good that they shouldn't have made more Scream movies.

I think it's cause he's a relative. Mickey and Debbie weren't explored much pre-reveal but the scene still worked in the meta satirical way. Making him behind it all could have used more development.
Still, it is fun to watch.

And even though he did it all alone he has the highest kill count even more than any ghostface DUO/TRIO. He even has more kills than all the scream 6 killers kills collectively. Same with any other previous scream, all the duos from each film collectively (from each scream) didnt beat his amount of kills. He still holds records for most kills and still to this day the only one who did it all alone.

Im a bit bias to scream 3 as its my fav but i get why people think the movie has flaws (comedic tone etc) but scream 3 has one of the highest box office. It was a major success

Other than Billy, Roman is still my favorite Ghostface. The backstory, the solo act, and he was perhaps the best fighter and an absolute raging beast till the end.
Roman is actually the most popular ghostface killer in most scream communities, usually scream 3 or 4 end up last on rankings as movies but it's crazy to think that even people that rank scream 3 last as movie still rank roman in their top 3 favorite ghostfaces, infact as a killer he's usually ranked number one. That is quite neat considering he was given a super campy script in the first hour, however nearly everyone agrees scream 3 had the best finale and monologue. Goes to show how powerful romans fanbase has gotten.

Mickey was crazy and badass but roman was strong and intelligent. And the combo of strong and intelligent will always win imo. Roman would take him forsure. Its a pretty much a fact that, it would probably take the rest of the ghostfaces working together combined just to stop him. He would beat everyone even all the duos together.
When watching this I always think Scott Foley would've made a good Clark Kent/Superman or Riddler.
Alright my guys and gals, I'm going to prove without a shadow of a doubt that Roman was by far the Best ghostface with the most skills, strenght, intelligence of any ghostface. Please read this and I'll happily debate even. Roman was a ONCE IN A LIFETIME ghostface. Here are a plethora of reasons why
-Only ghostface to do everything without a partner yet still came so close to ending sidney on 4 seperate occasions in the final act
- Most kills of any ghostface (9 kills)
- Only ghostface that fought large groups of people and had combat skills
- Only ghostface to knock out people with punches (dewey, gale etc), he knocked out every legacy character including his sister sidney
- Threw Tysons body off the mansion (crazy strenght)
- Killed the 350 LB bodyguard without breaking a sweat
- Killed the strongest legacy character Cotton whos strong too and even his gf at the same time
Please explain besides old ppl and teenage girls who did billy kill or fight and show me where billy was ever intelligent. (Btw I love Billy, but when it comes to achievements, there are many who did more then him, but roman has more achievements then all ghostfaces combined)
- oh also hes Is the one who practically gave Billy Tips on how to be smart and what to do and tips. billy used romans ideas and advice and influence.
- UA-camr tommy jarvis analyzes and came conclusion no ghostface duo or trio could match roman alone.
- Took on like 6- 8 people at miltons mansion all by himself and won
- Randy said in his cameo roman is superhuman and unstoppable and was almost right
- Toook everyone in there prime working together to stop roman
- Most of all why I love him.....his performance as a actor was top notch.
In fact, Roman has many more feats but in general, he is the most powerful Ghostface in the saga

I mean when you’re doing a “who done it” mystery it really shouldn’t be unpredictable.
Like yeah of course you wouldn’t suspect Roman as the killer. Not because they hid it well or made it seem like he couldn’t be. It’s because he’s barely in the movie, has an incredibly minimal hand in anything that happens in the runtime, is so irrelevant that his introduction is a group shot in which he’s not the focus and the camera angle is from behind him not even showing his face, never even meets Sydney before the climax, and at the point of the reveal we literally haven’t seen him in the movie for over 45 minutes.
There’s no strong misdirection, there’s no shading him as a red herring, there’s no reasonable suspicion placed on him, he’s not a central figure in the story. You wouldn’t predict it’s him because it’s very possible you’d outright forget he’s even in the movie by the time he’s revealed to by the killer since his role is so small and he’s so unimportant up to that point.
Roman will always be my fav Ghostface, he shoulda won a damn award for that performance. I know people wished him and sidneys relation was built up more and he was given more scenes in the first act. The long lost brother story could have been written for better i agree, but man did Roman (scott foley) do such a fantastic job. Scream 3 is actually the one I watch the most in the franchise, it is so thrilling. Roman was easily no doubt the most clever killer and the most durable and superstrong, i mean he nearly choked sidney to death with his bare hands had dewey not shut the lights, i also loved how in the end sidney grabs his hand in a sort of compassion for her brother, roman was the only ghostface that got sidney that emotional where she held his hand after the heart stab, then he gets back up superhuman and takes like 12 more gunshots to every part of his body by dewey. I was so sad he was the best killer
The actor was terrible... no screen presence at all. Roman was an idiot and completely illogical, but that's just the terrible writing of Ehren Kruger. The only award this dude deserved was a Razzie.

They rewrote the script more than 4 times and this was obviously the watered down version. I've been a huge Scream fan since the first installment came out.
I made a good case why Roman is a lowzy character and how terribly written the third film is in general and nobody could/ wanted to disprove it. All they could do is attack me... which is fine. Be that way.

The greatest thing about this film is that it’s popularity has only increased long after it’s release and I always knew that this film was the best in the series all along.

That part where Roman puts that bloody coroner sheet over himself earlier on the Stab set, and then uses it at the end is some scary looking shit, very smart idea. Scream 3 is the darkest, one. It doesn't get a lot of respect or higher rankings which is a shame. Scream 3 gets unappreciated, I thought Ehren Kruger did an awesome job with the writing of it despite Kevin Willamson not being present, give Ehren some love and this movie more love.
I won't lie. I can see why Roman is as angry as he is. His own mom pretty much just gave him the middle finger and left him to fend for himself! Not saying it gives him a good excuse to commit mass genocide. But I can understand his resentment...
Sidney's Mother, Maureen, didn't have to die; Roman could've just showed the footage of her affairs to Sidney's father, and convinced him to divorce her. He didn't have to manipulate Billy and Stu to kill her; but he's a psychopath, who couldn't care less about the damage his actions might cause.

I'm actually wanting an entire goddamn cult but yes I do agree I really want a Mastermind all over again like Roman maybe stu even though I don't know how he could survive getting a TV bashed on his head what is my main problem of bringing him back it's not like I don't want him back it's just that I don't know if it would realistically make sense of him being still alive after all those years and since in the original film he was supposed to have a cult of ghostface Killers it would be nice for that idea to save for the 7th film unless it can be someone else that would make it even more unexpected since no one was expecting Roman to be Sydney's brother in The Mastermind at all since there was no buildup which made it even more epic because it was just out of nowhere like a f****** ghost.

My favorite Ghostface of all time. Roman!!!!!!!! Hes the only killer i actually wanted to win. And ive seen all the movies in theaters! I watch romans reveal like once a week atleast just for memories and his performance.
I wasn't old enough to watch the original trilogy in cinemas but my first scream experience in cinema was Scream 4 and the twist with Jill blew my mind.

He was the architect of the Ghostface killings, he manipulated Billy into murdering Sidney's mother and he did his own murder spree solo. He is the original and probably the best Ghostface of the franchise yet he's so overlooked and underrated in my opinion.
NOT UNDERRATED at all anymore, Roman is highly praised. I'd say there are a lot more underrated ghostfaces that also deserve love. I'm happy Roman receives all the love but I refuse to call someone that widely respected underrated 😂 my fave killer tho

This is how many times roman almost killed in scream 3. roman had sidney killed 3 times first when he was choking sidney but dewey shut the lights, 2nd when he shot sid but sidney was wearing the vest and a 3rd time when he came back at them when dewey gale guys finally shot him in head. Thats 3 times right there roman almost won. How this man was so deadly is scary. Hes the real closest to winning. Physically and mentally he was by far the strongest.

I was in my teens and sussed him out in his first scene. I was studying Performing Arts Acting at college therefore learning how to get into the minds of others and what I remember thinking is 'Roman's being taken in for questioning over Sarah's murder. He immediately shouts and yells at cops. That's not going to look good for his defense. Plus he's a director, maybe he's staging his own horror movie. I think he's the killer.'

He wasn't there trying to be friends with Sydney, he wasn't trying to ask her questions so his movie could become better, he was a background character but knew what was going on, which fits with the him being the one that inspired the two kids to begin the killings, he was just directing but of course like every other villain, he finally has a chance but he can't help but gloat and eventually will be his downfall😖

For some reason, I've seen alotta reviews from Scream fans saying they hated this one the most. I don't get it. The reveal was pretty epic and a good wrap up for a trilogy.
They say it had too much comedy, but even scream 3 haters admit the last 20 mins were the best finale of any scream. If they toned down on the comedy in the first hour i think no one would hate the film

Looking back at this and how the killer came out in bloody cloth talking in maureen voice is probably the darkest killer reveal not in movie terms but in real life terms
I missed when ghost face reveals felt more impactful, and authentic and just hard core cold blooded, now we just have a bunch of gen z copy cats doing it for the sake of being famous and the story line for me has run stale…🤧 this scream has foundation original blood legitimate reasoning bring this back please I beg!
This.. imo while scream 6 is great. The reveals will probably never be as good or well written as it should be.. which is why I really how someone like Stu can come back as a villain. Really spice it up a bit.

Everything in these films always goes back to generational trauma. None of this is Sidney’s fault, I understood that Roman felt abandoned by their mother but that wasn’t on Sidney. The mom obviously needed help but she didn’t deal with it the right way, honestly a lot of people don’t know how to deal with trauma and that’s why so many people doing drugs and other things, to help cope. Billy and his mother didn’t have to put Sidney in her mother’s mess either . What she did was wrong for sleeping with a married man, but Billy’s mom abandoned him when she left the husband, but of course she couldn’t admit to that. She wanted to put the blame on an innocent young person because of their mother’s actions !! 💯💯
The only Ghostface who didn't have an accomplice, and who Sidney genuinely didn't have a clue who he was.

I just love how Roman was behind everything he was even responsible for the murders that happened in the first and second film that led to this I really love how it tied up so well I don't really think most trilogies even tie up things that well full circle I even love how he did everything himself in this film didn't need a partner or whatever he will always be on top most legendary ghostface to think this could have all been avoided if Sydney's mother just accepted her son and gave him another chance he may have been a byproduct of rape but he was still her son and deserved real love he probably never got it from his foster parents and Sadly most Foster families are awful as tragic as Billy Loomis and his mother's actions were this is even more sad not to mention further reason why he's the best ghostfaced.

Not gonna lie I never suspected him when I watch it for the first time.
Spoilers for Scream 6 but something I didn't like about the two new killers was that they wore the Ghostface robes as they died that takes away from Roman given how he was supposed to be the main antagonist of the whole series. Might have done it as a tribute but I'm not sure.
