Both Ashley and Bella have said that Ellie would 100% have agreed to die for a chance at a cure, mostly cause by her survivor's guilt. Both Marlene and Joel knew that Ellie would have said yes. Marlene never asked Ellie for permission because she wasn't willing to risk Ellie saying no, and would never have let her leave the hospital alive. Joel never asked because he knew Ellie would have never willingly left the hospital, and would have even gone back. Joel couldn't let that happen.
[This comment is in the wrong place. I've posted it elsewhere.] I'm glad I spotted you. I really enjoyed your playthrough. I think you are probably one of the younger players I've watched. My sense is that you are under 20. Am I way off? 🙃 A lot of Last of Us fans see the DLC Left Behind as a valuable part of the story. It's like a really nice epilogue. Maybe take a break from the Last of Us, for at least a little while, before starting Part 2, because it's at least as challenging as Part 1 (in multiple ways). If I went straight into Part 2 immediately after Part 1, I think I would feel overwhelmed. Good luck, kiddo.
I find it amazing how EVERY player of this game at this point, doesn't get whats wrong with Ellie ... The girl went through shit up to now and almost just got raped and is feeling dark about losing her friend recently and she know its near the end of the journey with Joel. Then players always ask, "Whats wrong with her?" Sheesh
I just found your channel a few days ago and here I am now finishing your playthrough... Such a amazing game right? About to start into your DLC play... I hope you play part 2 as well its just as good but in the worst way if that makes any kinda sense... liked and subbed... Keep Smiling! I remember being sad when I finished playing it as well, at the time 2 didn't come our for like another 5 years. After playing it I immediately started playing it again and have played it another times since cause you don't want to say goodbye to the characters. I would suggest play it twice you will be surprised how much you miss and stuff just makes more sense the 2nd time.
Thanks for this playthrough, Sofie. This game is a masterpiece. That main dilemma, is the suffering of one child worth the salvation of the world, that's straight from "Brothers Karamazov". Heavy stuff. And the second game is no less impactful. Do you plan to play it as well?
Great let's play series, it's always fun to see other go through this game. Joel is best (surrogate) father in the damn world. Ellie isn't old enough to make decision. In my opinion no life is worth sacrificing for the "common good". The "common good" is also just an opinion, sometimes rationalized with numbers sometimes, but still it is an opinion. As a father I would have done everything Joel did and then some, no hair on my head that would even consider anything else. Protect the people you love... it's the only thing that really matters.
Watching your playthrough made me more emotional than any other i've watched. I could say maybe even more than my first time playing this game. I don't know... the way you feel every little bit of the details in the story of this game, made me feel the same hahah. I'm glad you recorded it for us to see and i can't wait for Part 2. Thank you, Sofie!!

thank you! I really apprechiate all the comments and tips! It has made the playtrough even better ^^ I'm turning 20 this year, spot on! as for the break, I agree, gonna play some other games first, but idk how long I can wait xD
Enjoyed following your game play and genuine reactions. If you are like us who played the game, you likely have or will be thinking about the ending for a while. I recommend you watch the video "alternate ending" for some fun, and also the HBO TLOU "Inside the Episode 9" for some comments from the creator/showrunner. The show follows the game almost exactly on the ending. Left behind is great and Part II does take you for an emotional rollercoaster and is worth finishing it no matter how emotional you might get.
Are you going to watch teh HBO series to this also? Would love to see your reaction to that too. While the HBO series has it's similarities, it also has it major differences and gives you a whole new experience to it. I bawled like a baby watching the HBO series. The game to part 1 and 2 had it's moments where it was emotional, but the HBO series got me almost every episode.
@Sofietiu Alright. Thanks for letting me know. I love Joel and ellie so much that I have now been spending my time watching others react to the game play and the hbo series. I'd suggest watching the hbo season as it only pertains to part 1 of the game. Nothing in the series is from part 2. It's like a whole new experience watching it come to life since a lot of it is different from the game. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Looking forward to you playing part 2 and hopefully the hbo series too.
Hope you are not spoiled for Last of us 2 yet, you are probably going to experience emotions you didn't even know you had, bring tissues. and as other have said, play Red Dead Dredemption 2 too, it is also among my favorite games in terms of story along with these, and since it is a porequel to Red Dead 1, it's not a problem if you start with 2, you'll only miss a reference here and there but no big deal
@@NHNuisance No, it was love. The loss of his daughter was out of his control. He wasn't about to lose another "daughter" when he had a chance to save her. He knew that she would be willing to die for the vaccine, and he lied because he couldn't let that happen. As I'm typing this, I realize that there was, in fact, a level of selfishness on Joel's behalf, but he didn't have any control over that, mostly because he had never worked through the loss of his daughter. Hope that makes sense.
As good as this game is the second game is as bad, I wouldn't play it if they paid me, i won't spoil it in case you decide to play. Are you going to finish Outlast?
“What’s wrong with her” is that she was sexually assaulted and almost cannibalized, after having to take care of a basically dead Joel who she didn’t know if he would make it. Then she was groomed and chased around by a psychopath who she then repeatedly stabs in the face with a machete as all the rage and pain spill out of her, all of which has left her permanently scarred. Yes the reunion between Joel and Ellie in the winter is nice but overall it’s not really a super happy moment. You can even see in the cutscene how she disassociates and doesn’t even hear what Joel is saying. That would cause anyone to not be themselves.
@@Sofietiu that’s understandable, especially considering they’ve been without each other for the first time since the beginning of the game and everyone wants them to reunite

Both Marlene and Joel took the choice away from Ellie.

part 2 is the craziest rollercoaster of emotions i've ever experienced in gaming. Also, you could play rdr 2.
I’ve played through half of rdr2, maybe I could make some videos continuing the game? Not sure yet but maybe xD
When are you going to play Part 2?
story and characterwise part 2 is simply absolute trash! the gameplay is nice, tho
