Oh hey, I am finally am on time to comment on one of your episodes! I can’t watch it yet, but I’m sure it’s great. Nevertheless have a great (though as with the other game) emotionally wrecking time! So looking forward to this on my break at work. (Looks at thumbnail, looks at episode length…yeah, you already know some of it, hold on, it’s a wild ride after this crazy emotional start!)
Eralia, I just finished watching this one and I really enjoyed it and as always you cracked me up a lot but I enjoyed it. As I said I think of you as one of my best friends from watching your videos and I hope you are having a great time with it so far and until the next part of TLOU2 Take Care my Friend. 😎👋
Eraliaa extremely glad your on this series now and can't wait to see the next parts so much love for the decision on just going blind into these games or movies too but thanks for the content I'm new and really enjoying the energy you bring with you cause it shows interest in the game anyways I got the horses in the back and I gotta go hold them till next part lol
Prepare yourself for an insanely emotional, depressing, soul crushing experience. Honestly, when you see the ending credits for this game, you are not fulfilled, you are not satisfied, you are only destroyed and yet somehow still (for me anyways) you walk away feeling like you just played one of the greatest games ever made.
The guy on the chair playing the guitar at 27:29 is Gustavo. He’s the guy who does all the soundtrack for the games and tv series 😊 they made him into a character ❤
Legit probably my favorite video game soundtrack too, even better than the one from the first game, but it's also often how they apply those songs in certain situations. I love that they also used some songs in the HBO show, at times cheekily when you know their titles.
This game gets better when I watch people with emotional intelligence and understanding play it. The story has so many layers and the detail is amazing. Glad to re-live it with your vids. 👍🏽
@@user-jt1js5mr3f Part 2 isn't bad and I don't hate it, but it was still sad to see Joel being used as a catalyst for revenge and a cheap but sadly efficient way to rile up our emotions... I would be less salty if they decided to end him a bit later during the game to make it less predictable in what direction it is heading. Making it so clear early on, that it's going to be nothing more than just revenge from here on just rubbed me the wrong way. Neverless, it still has overall a good story with some decent twists and a unique experience, but comes nowhere near to the first part in my humble opinion 😶
@@larrythepinhead5591 which is fair, and definitely doesn’t put you with the group I’m thinking of. The game isn’t perfect, I have some things I would have done different, absolutely. To me it made sense as a catalyst because it was built in a way that made sense on the consequences of the first game, and it’s honestly what I thought would happen when I tried to think about what a second game would be. The first one wasn’t happy and didn’t end happy, so I certainly expected more pain from part 2 😂 And it wasn’t revenge the rest of the game, I saw it more as a process of grief and loss. Losing him definitely pulled out anger and disgust, but I liked it. In most stories, characters die in cinematic ways, but he went out quickly, without final words, and it hit different, because it was more realistic. If that makes sense in any video game, I’d expect it from the last of us.
@@user-jt1js5mr3f I can definitely see your point. Always nice to see a fellow mate who understands und discusses with you what could have been done better or what you enjoyed. Cheers man 🍻
The reason why it's so awkward at the beginning is because of the events that transpired at the end of the first game. This scene takes place shortly after the end of the first game, and you can tell that Ellie is absolutely crestfallen, partly because she was racked with immense survivor's guilt and she desperately wanted to be the cure for this wretched world. So that coupled with the conversation at the end of the first game with Joel must've been on her mind I bet
That makes sense. I also think that Ellie didn't believe Joel at the end of part 1, but she was prepared to accept it, because she does care for him and knows that whatever may have happened, Joel acted for her benefit. Add in your idea about survivors guilt and we see how she's struggling to find a way to make their relationship work now they're in Jackson. Edit: Also, I think Joel knows that Ellie didn't believe him, so he's wracked with guilt too! No wonder it was awkward 🤣
@@TheJrr71 Yep absolutely, Neil even said well before Part II was ever in production that Ellie didn't quite believe his lie, and knowing Ellie in Part I, and the way she said that "Okay", you could tell she didn't either
Your thoughts at the end (not being angry/hateful but instead understanding of what Abby did and wanting to know more) is *exactly* why you have been one of the very best TLOU reactors I've ever watched and why I know I'll love your playthrough of Part II. I've not seen anyone else on yt react so emotionally to *that scene* but also be so mature, level-headed, and fair about it immediately after. You're such a compassionate and understanding person and very entertaining on top of it! Looking forward to every episode.
I'm in the same boat. Eralia's part 1 playthrough was one of my absolute favorites, and her part 2 playthrough is shaping up to be an incredible one as well.
here’s the issue I have first of all I understand why she did what she did but imo if that same person saved my life I got a pretty good feeling I’m going to have to rethink my revenge because without that same person I’d be dead so forever fuck Abby
I can't help but wonder how she will react to some of Ellie's actions in the game and the encounter with the [Spoiler] King [ I can't say anymore or It will just ruin surprise we all felt in the encounter she is a very perceptive person]
I just got Ellie's tattoo done a few days ago. To say this game changed my life would be an understatement. I love this game and story with my whole heart and soul and I'm so happy to share this experience with you now ❤
First game: Joel to Ellie when they're arguing - "You have no idea what loss is." Second game: Joel singing to Ellie - "If I were to ever lose you, I'd surely lose myself." That is such an important connection to make between the games IMO. As far as why Ellie and Joel's interaction was awkward at the start of your play through is because at the end of TLOU1 Eliie asks Joel "Promise me everything you said about the Fireflys was true." Eliie is incredibly clever and she knew Joel wasn't being truthful as we all did when we went through that moment. Fun stuff to notice: Ellie still has Sam's transformer in her 'home. The dog you pet at 26:49 is Buckley from the first game. And the guy behind the dog playing banjo on the porch is the musician who created the music for the game - Gustavo Santaolalla. Seth, the guy who gave Ellie the steak sandwich and apologized for what he said -- he was one of the guards at the dam in TLOU1 when Joel and Ellie first connect with Tommy. When Dina and Ellie have the snowball fight, the dynamic detail transition the game goes through from close-up high detail facial animations to the snowball fight which lowers the facial details but scales the environmental details all dynamically with no break in transition -- so damn impressive. Other little things. If you hit a tree that has snow on the branches, the snow will react. When Ellie and Dina find shelter at Eugene's they are initially covered in snow, but as you explore the snow on the clothes slowly melts away. Finally - The Jaba Coffee mug is great.
TIP: Break the glass of Vending Machines, and Store displays on the walls and counters to grab loot and snacks. You can use melee weapons or your arm to break the glass. This does not count as a hit off of the melee weapon.
My wife is just like you with regards to spoilers. No spoilers, no trailers, no accidentally overhearing folk talk about film at movie theater. It takes a level of skill and attention to surroundings, because the world conspires to spoil things. Movies, series, expectations. That’s what it does!
I just have to piggyback on that but most people are spoiled because they're on social media if you remove that component it becomes a bit easier. Note I said it becomes easier it's not 100% solution but it helps alot.
Binge watching your playthrough again because I love your emotinoal response to this game. I gotta say though, I was focused on the revenge and rage. I cried like a baby when Joel died, Ellie's struggle to go into the house, smelling his coat. They really captured those moments and I couldn't imagine them any better. I understand why Joel did what he did. Even knowing Ellie was willing to give up her life, Joel had already become attached and saw her as a daughter. He saw people willing to take her and end her life and he was not going to lose another daughter. If I was in his shoes, I would have done the exact same thing. I love people and I love life, but the rest of the world can suffer if it means losing a daughter just to save them. It'd be different if it was your own life, but you're asking someone to be willing to accept losing someone you love just so others can live.
Glad to watch! Just a helpful, spoiler free tip. DON"T RUSH!! When you're walking with a character and they're talking, don't always keep heading to the location. Sometimes taking your time and standing still and listening without moving can extend the conversation.
I was spoiled on this major plat point before I played the game, and just knowing what happened was so hard for me that it took nearly 3 years to finally sit down and play the game. I finished last week and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. It’s such a powerful story. For me, as sad as I am about Joel, I think the worst thing for me is the effect on Ellie. Joel might have been able to live a fulfilling life in the end for that brief 4 years, but the pain Ellie is going through is what really kills me. I won’t say more than that, but for me it’s always what the character themselves are feeling that influences my emotional response.
This. I’ve been saying for years that the leaks did so much damage. I know so many who got pissed and just didn’t play the game because the didn’t experience it, they just heard pieces and decided it was trash. Unfortunate, but it also encourages my thought that many who hate it struggle with emotional maturity
I love that guitar music in the part 2. It's like cinematic, big sounding guitars. And you can hear the fingers sliding on the strings when changing played notes, a sound of sliding fingers on the fret. Incredible.
@@Uchiha.06 If you think there's nothing wrong with a 56 year old guy having something going on with someone barely over 18 then you'd fit very well into the middle East or the US.
When you said "it's okay, Loki" it made me super happy. I also have a Loki. And he was sitting here watching this with me while I cried watching you cry watching/playing it.
This game (the whole tlou universe infact) holds a special place in my heart so seeing this notification pop us honestly made my day! I truly hope you enjoy what a absolute masterpiece imo this game is, I would love to hear you're thoughts when you finish this game but take you're time and keep up the incredible work Eralia!! Have a good day! 💕💕
Love your take on this first run. You’re intuition is spot on. When you asked if they were Fireflies, I wasn’t surprised you figured it out so quickly. I mean the foreshadowing was making it obvious, but regardless, you felt it coming. I’m so glad that your perspective is that Joel lived a good life loving in Jackson. Not everyone sees it that way. What a great first run! ❤
I felt the same heartbreak watching Ellie lose Joel as I did watching Joel lose Sara. This franchise just loves ripping your heart right out of your chest.
That's the point of those moments. You emotionally bond to Joel when Sarah dies, and you emotionally bond to Ellie when Joel dies. You're there to share that trauma with them, and in this case also the hate for Abby.
@Dark Thoughts I feel like this moment was worse than Sara because we spent the whole first game playing as Joel. We WERE Joel to some extent, at least I was in my head.
@@Dark__Thoughts crazy thing though, I started to hope Ellie would forgive Abby and at the end she finally let’s go of her hate and Abby lives. You can see the pain and suffering in Abby as well when Ellie cut her down from the pole.
Glad you seem to be trusting & accepting in the story. As a fan of this game and story, it was disheartening to see a number of content creators lose trust in Naughty Dog, Neil Druckman, and the developers as soon as they killed off Joel. A lot of people barely tried to give the game a chance after that. For me, it was one of the most emotional & rewarding gaming experiences I've had.
@@Сайтамен 1. Because you can't judge a story if you haven't at least played it through 2. Give it a chance because a lot of people have been saying it's good 3. It's actually okay to feel angry because you've spent so much time with Joel. It's about how you process that anger (5 stages of grief) 4. Disrespectful in what way? Joel was a bad man in many occasions. Just in this example. Any of the 500 actual people you kill in part 1 can have a daughter of their own like Ellie, or a father like Joel. The story is actually beautiful in its irony but I don't think you'll ever finish it if you're still commenting on playthroughs of part 2. I hope you do though!
Don't forget that the story details leaked way before the game even came out. A lot of those same content creators read the leaks, knew what was coming, and went into the game already hating it. Also Part II came out at the start of the pandemic. Not great timing for such a depressing story. Most people were looking for a positive escape.
@@Tarlenn 1. Spoiler: playthrough is not worth it. 2. Yeah, bought journalists, only criteria for them is diversity. 3. Main anger is coming from how contrived and dumb his death is. Abby just walked into town and first person she bumped into is him, and he even saves her life. Then there's a blizzard and infected crowd at the same town so she can lure them to her team. And Joel who never trusted anyone in 20 years just tells strangers surrounding him his name... 4. These actual people attacked us or Ellie first. And no, "try to make a cure" is not an excuse for murdering a child, besides, they didn't pay him, they robbed him. He was fully justified. 5. Yeah, how ironic that Abby got her revenge on Joel even though her dad started it, but Ellie has to spare her because revenge is bad, and she loses everything...
Been waiting for this and it didn't disappoint, you're so attentive to small details like the Curtis and Viper movie! You really pay attention and pick up on all the unspoken things conveyed through facial expressions and things not said, I think this game will be really rewarding to you :)
Wow. That was such a powerful playthrough! From your first impression of being back in the world of the last of us and your first impression of Abby (muscle mama) to your reaction to THAT MOMENT and your beautiful closing thoughts. THANK YOU! I wanted to rewatch part II after watching the HBO show but could not bring myself to do it. Watching along with you is the PERFECT way to refresh myself on the story and relive my own first impressions. By the way I am the same as you. If I already want to see a film or a show, the trailer is basically spoiling it for me. I like to go in blind once I know I want to see something. Can't wait for your next Last of Us II session.
This is by far my favorite game of all, can't wait to see you laugh, cry, get emotional and go through the rollercoaster of emotions this game brings you.
Very interested to see you through this journey! Already got some very different reactions from the norm with muscle mommy” and the very unfortunate “Joel we found you a new wife!” lol Most interesting is your willingness to try and understand the possible motivations for these new characters coming in and taking out a beloved character. The lack of rage and your immediate mention and appreciation for Joel’s life is very telling that we’re in for a very different reaction and I’m here for it! I do wonder how much of your reaction is also affected by the lack of a big gap in between games. I would not be surprised if others found that at least part of their loss and anger were influenced by so much anticipation and waiting. Can’t fair for part 2 of part 2!
I just love how you just got it… a lot of people got pissed off when they realize that Joel kicks the can because he didn’t deserve it. Like bro! Dude made a loooot of enemies along the way. People got pissed off because he died the way that he did, like he has to go in a blaze of glory… bro… shit happens… I always remember a quote from a movie called the unforgiven when Little Bill said “I don’t deserve to die like this” and William Munny said “deserving got nothing to do with it” I love your new expression! “How the turns have tabled” :) But yeah… like the sixers fans… “trust the process” this is just starting!
People weren’t angry with the way he died. It had to do with when he died. Early into the game. People waited close to a decade to play as Jole not Ellie. They could’ve done a Last of Us 3 with Ellie getting her vengeance.
To be honest I'm only pissed off at how Joel wasn't more cautious and careful with strangers then how he died there's some foreshadowing in the TLOU part 1 when you play as Ellie in the one of the chapters and the end of the game as well as the DLC
@@illuminate8321 a lot of people that I read back then had issues with how he got killed… that’s why it became a really distasteful meme. And I think the idea of playing as Ellie was always on the table, I mean you get to play as her during winter and left behind… Don’t get me wrong. I was sad when they killed him off but I understood that it was a real possibility because of Joel’s recklessness…
@@CrimsonFucker412 I love this series so much that I’ve read, and I’ve seen so many video essays about it and that criticism of “how could Joel let his guard down” has been present in a lot of them… some of them have come to a conclusion, and I think I agree with it that when Joel started to live this new life in Jackson, he took it as a second chance… he started to let his guard down, because he felt like he was part of a community, if you notice when Ellie goes to Joel’s house, it has a lot of flowers on the steps because he was loved in this community. Usually when you're unafraid to feel your emotions and be who you are you let your guard down… and that’s what Joel did. He was a woodcarver, he was a luthier, he sang songs… he didn’t trust anybody because his surroundings were untrustworthy, Jackson allowed him to be somewhat “him” pre-outbreak Yeah… just that :)
@@bartocorleone I couldn't have agreed more in TLOU part 1 Joel only had one person he could trust and that was Tess and we all know what happened to her. I bet if it wasn't for Ellie he would have ended up just like Bill never trusting anyone and always being alone. The sad truth is that a lot of people tend to ignore that Joel was a smuggler who did a lot of bad things and made many enemies just to survive and after joining Jackson he became soft and he let his guard down but I can take some comfort in the fact that Joel even while knowing that he's going to die is that he never begged
I never knew about Joel until TODAY 😢 still crying and sobbing 😭 I’m going totally blind with you on this game Eralia I don’t know how it ends and I don’t want to spoiler myself until we discover it together 🥹
i appreciate you not hating on abby from the start, once we learn her story we see how similar she is to ellie so you really can’t love one and hate the other
"Fuck us up, Neil!" God, I love her. I do a TLOU pod on the side with my buddy so I watch a lot of these reactions and playthroughs and could not be happier about watching Eralia's experience, one of the best and most enjoyable playthroughs/reactions I've ever seen. Subbed to the Patreon!
I didn't think you were going to jump right into TLOU2, but here we are! I'm excited for you, this is one of the best stories ever told, masterpiece. I'm looking forward to riding this emotional roller-coaster with you.
I just finish the TLOUS Part 1 playthrough today so this is coming up perfectly, thanks eralia! I don't know anything about this one so I'm ready to suffer and cry with u 😅💀
The sound design in it is crazy , the cinematic feeling when there is tention/action but also the gore sounds, all of it , amazing. It realy ads to the immersion
Well you didn't disappoint what a magnificent start & your ending monologue was the perfect example of why we love you & your channel eralia & all I have to do is wait for the next episode 🙌 take care & sending sunshine smiles and good vibes to all 🌻🐝🌺🤘💜
Commentary at the end was amazing... as many playthroughs I have seen, i dont think anyone ever mentioned how they were glad the last 4 years of Joel's life was for the most art "peaceful". Even I have never thought of that... ❤❤😢
Yes. A lot of people are flabbergasted at how Joel "just walked into" the situation that ultimately got him killed, citing that he always had that survivor instinct and that paranoid awareness from living hard. But they miss what you - and Eralia - point out - that its been four years, and those have been four years of peace - Jackson is secure, supplied, and full of well-meaning people - a suitable village that it would take to raise any person, any family. You could definitely say he got "soft" in those years, but peace - true peace - is what makes people soft. Man this is why I like reading comments, despite how toxic they can sometimes be. So many things that I'd never notice.
IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS !! u have no idea .. i’ve been looking forward to u playing part 2 and omg i can’t wait to see u play and react and experience this !! i luv u and ur videos
This is the best TloU playthrough (including Part 1) i have seen so far. You have lots of emotional intelligence which makes this a joy to watch even though i know the game in and out.
I finally caught up to the series! If anyone is interested, it is in fact worth going back and watching part 1. I'm really digging watching Eralia experience this games story for the first time!
Fun fact: The song that Ellie is listening to while sketching during the first cut-scene is the song she sang in the first teaser trailer we ever say 2ish years before the game came out. Through the Valley by Shawn James.
Thank-you for your service. The attention to detail of this game, every room, every word. It is the standard by which games will be judged for a long time.
The details start with Ellie's room itself ..like you can see Joel's house through Ellie's house window bcoz she lives in Joel's house backyard. That robot is there above the table which she gave Sam. There is a PlayStation in Ellie's room which you can't shoot you know that's Sony's you gotta respect that. The aim button doesn't allow you to shoot that it will turn dark. There is a photo of Ellie's ex gf Cat above Ellie's bed who made that tattoo on her arm. And Gustavo Santaolalla makes a presence in the game. He is right there with his Banjo when Ellie pet's the dog which is the same dog at Tommy's in the first game... that's why Ellie says hello old timer. I can go on and on with the details....i hope you have found all. That makes the game 100 times more beautiful then it is
I strive for this but I can never help myself to watch trailers, spoilers, etc. I'm glad you're not doing any research beforehand, I think going completely blind is the way to go. Because leaks are what made this game so divisive in the first place.
I’m a little late to watching you play through this. But no matter how many times I play part 1 & 2, I’m always an emotional wreck in the beginning of each game. I’ve gotten that I had to skip the cutscenes because every time I feel like I lose a family member. The way naughty dog makes you feel so attached to a character is insane and it makes this series such a masterpiece ❤
I thought I was over the sad part in this video, but you made me cry so much! Your face, your expressions, your eyes, even your cheeks, chin and eyebrows showed SO MUCH EMOTIONAL PAIN AND SADNESS! I couldn't stop crying while I watch you suffer "that moment"... I can't... Every expression of sadness and sorrow... I can't describe how many feelings you made me feel... Such a powerful game and story
YAAAYYY!! I didn’t expect for you to post this so soon! You truly are AMAZING!!! You give me confidence and motivation to upload a lot more on UA-cam. Editing is NOT FOR THE WEAK! You are so busy and the fact that you are consistent says a lot about you as a person ❤️❤️I hope you play this game with an open mindset. Anyone who complains the WHOLE TIME playing The Last Of Us Part Two is honestly MAAAAD annoying! So I pray you are a little different 🤣So far you are great with these story driven games. Can’t wait to see more! (;
So soon!? I wasn't expecting it. You're absolutely killing it on this channel, delivering great and thoughtful content super fast and I know it isn't but it seems so effortless and natural for you. Watched every one of your videos since I've found your channel, can't say that for anyone else. Keep it up!
Omg you might be the best reactor I've ever seen. I also love to go into stories/experiences without knowing anything about them, although it is really hard for me to do so. Can't wait to start this journey and see what your thoughts are on this (imo) incredible masterpiece.
I just started watching this series cause I just finished the show. I watched your play through of tlou 1 and the add on. I always feel seen when you’re crying at the same time as me lol. I wasn’t expecting to be sobbing so much dude.
Based on your reaction to beginning of the game, I think you gonna love the game and will understand the message just fine, which is believe it or not sooo incredibly rare in this community Have fun playing😊
I just started watching, i am at minute 4:00 so i don't now how far you played in this videeo yet, but either way, i can say: you have no idea, what you are walking into. I'm fu**ing excited for this ride.
@@Dark__Thoughts Thanks, i know how to use the timeline bar 🤣 I did not want to spoil myself, just wanted to get my comment out before i was really starting.
Really appreciate how calm your reaction is at the end, considering the devastating events that took place. The majority of people have been too stubborn (yes through our love for the characters) to be able to fully appreciate and understand this incredible game. It is a heartbreaking thing to happen, but it is what develops characters and the story. It is such an amazing game and we can't wait to see your reaction to the full story!
I knew Eralia's empathy would kick in for this game. She gets why Ellie would go out to Seattle - why nothing Tommy or anyone else said or did would matter. She also gets why such a thing could happen to Joel, why the people who tracked him down would do so. Its the theme of the game. It's not "revenge" as so many people have thought it to be. Its about being able to say "i get it" to the things that every single character does - to have every character's actions and motivations be understandable - and yet for those same characters to all still be fucking miserable, due to these actions. That, miserably, is sometimes just how life is. ...not often, thankfully. This year (2023 as of this writing), a new batch of people have picked up thse games to play, as shown by channels like Eralia. It's been long enoguh since these games came out that its a new "generation" of players of these games - and i've noticed that they all seem to get it. None of the (appropriate, ironically) hatred that pervaded the people who played this game when it first released, or the year or so thereafter. It's kinda nice.
Can’t lie it really wasn’t, the story and plot + characters except Tommy and dina was average bro, but the gameplay and graphics were worth that’s it IMO
the movie sarah and joel were watching in the show was curtis and viper 2! it was definitely a reference to this game, it wasn't in the first game. cool that you picked up on that :D
I played like a month or 2 months ago and I still can't stop thinking about it either. It's crazy how the story sticks with you long after you finish it
@@3lle272 Everything about this game is phenomenal the music Gameplay Graphics … but What Naughty dog did to Joel wasted all and It’s still hunts me every time I think about it ..
@@maskon996 no not really the story Is bad poorly played out bad pacing, and then they make u PLAY as the piece of shit Abby after she kills Joel, like what are they thinking?? Are they tryna make us like her😂? And the end was just cringe ‘🥹revenge is bad’ and Dina left her anyway gameplay and graphics were the only good thing about this game and Tommy THATS IT
can't think of a more perfect person to be playing trough this - you are coming at it with the exact right mindset. You'd be amazed how many 'true fans' stopped playing at that moment and snapped their disc in half. how many death threats Laura Bailey received, how awful a vocal minority were about this. this isn't the only challenge this game throws at you, but A+ for how you dealt with the first major hurdle :) I'm excited to see how you react to the rest of the story.
Been looking forward to this series getting going and this first video did not disappoint. So much investment in the characters, visceral reaction to the story, genuine smiles, blushes, sorrow. It is great to see someone get so into this narrative and these characters, Really looking forward to the rest of the series. There is so much more to come 👌
2:27:38 The emotional damage in this game is real, no spoilers, but first game was like happy days in comparison, prep yourself, looking forward to your awesome reactions as usual, no matter how many times that part with Joel is emotional damage 😭😭
Don't think it's been mentioned yet but the song Joel plays is called "Future Days" by Pearl Jam. Apparently Druckman is a superfan and sang this song to his kid when they were growing up. Great playthrough, can't wait to go on the rest of this wild emotional ride with you.
*Out of everyone I’ve seen play this game, you have the most rational perspective when it comes to Joel’s death. Naturally being a attached to his character, you can’t help but feel vengeful for what happened. It pissed a lot of fans off. No one cared to know why Abby carried out the act. They just knew she killed Joel and now she has to pay. So there’s automatically a bias. But what matters is the journey to find out why and that’s the most exciting part about it when I first played through. I didn’t just suddenly felt the urge to kill her but instead sought for answers. This game in particular caught a lot of backlash for how it was handled. However continuing to follow the story made it worth it*
OMG I love your coffee cup this go round! I have not seen that and I'm a huge Star Wars buff. That is definitely on my shopping list now. Watching this and hearing Joel sing this brought me to tears. It's such a beautiful song. That whole awkward feeling you got, I felt the same way playing this for the first time. I have to say, you're taking it much better than I was at the end of your part 1. You're more rational than I was, but I guess I got more emotionally attached to Joel and Ellie and that bond they formed over the first game. I literally had to pause the game and come back hours later after calming down. I was so heart broken. Even watching you play and react to it, it brings me tears all over again and every time I play through this game. I hope you continue to enjoy playing this as I will definitely continue to watch. I just love watching others play this game to see how they react and that's how I found your channel. Seeing you and others react to not only the game going in blind but also the series, it makes me really love tuning in to the channels.
You asking why they did it is a great question. Hold onto that question while you play through this. This story is divisive and I think a lot of it is because half the people wanted to know why this happened and the other half didn't care. Wanting to know why will keep you invested in this difficult, but fascinating story.
I have played this 3 times now. Got the platinum. Saw 2 playthroughs on YT. You seem very charismatic, I will see this playthrough as well. Good work Eralia, nice to meet your channel!
Bro I am so excited for this I cannot even explain. I’m sitting here at work drooling over it 🤤- wait that sounded weird 😹 but I know what I’m watching when I get home! 💯 🏡 🍻 Also, I hope you made sure the dog gets a good scratch 🐕
The face model for Dina has also played this game without really having gaming knowledge beforehand. Cascina Caradonna if one felt the urge to watch that at some point. Not a plug promise, just a fun fact xD .. If only Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson had proper Let's Plays as well xD

Eralia,
I just finished watching this one and I really
enjoyed it and as always you cracked
me up a lot but I enjoyed it.
As I said I think of you as one of my
best friends from watching your videos
and I hope you are having a great time
with it so far and until the next part
of TLOU2 Take Care my Friend.
That moment you realize the last time you play as Joel, you literally ride off into the sunset.
That's a great tidbit I didn't know this!
that's epic!!! ❤️
One of my favorite reactions to seeing Abby for the first time LOL “who is the MUSCLE MOMMY?!” 😂
LMAOOOOO
And then suggesting she be Joel’s wife 😬😂
Looking at someone you love, die... like this. Not only that, but you also can't do anything about it. It truly crushes the soul.
yeah it’s almost like ND goal was to make a character somehow more traumatized than Joel😅😭
so heartbreaking.... 💔
me watching you trying to loot with Joel was heartbreaking😭 he won’t be needing any supplies
AWH MAN 💔
OR maybe he did need supplies :/
@@norexplorer865 who are u replying to?
This game gets better when I watch people with emotional intelligence and understanding play it. The story has so many layers and the detail is amazing. Glad to re-live it with your vids. 👍🏽
This. Most of the people I’ve encountered who hate the game clearly struggle with processing emotions in a healthy way
@@user-jt1js5mr3f Part 2 isn't bad and I don't hate it, but it was still sad to see Joel being used as a catalyst for revenge and a cheap but sadly efficient way to rile up our emotions...
The first one wasn’t happy and didn’t end happy, so I certainly expected more pain from part 2 😂
And it wasn’t revenge the rest of the game, I saw it more as a process of grief and loss.
Cheers man 🍻
@@larrythepinhead5591 and to you, have a good day!
Cool detail at 2:47:13 the mirror is missing off Joel’s bathroom wall, because he took it off and gave it to Ellie, the same mirror at 22:14
The reason why it's so awkward at the beginning is because of the events that transpired at the end of the first game.
@@TheJrr71 you are both so right on
@@TheJrr71 Yep absolutely, Neil even said well before Part II was ever in production that Ellie didn't quite believe his lie, and knowing Ellie in Part I, and the way she said that "Okay", you could tell she didn't either
@@jaysundae Did not know ND said that! Ah, I thought I had some deep insight... turns out everyone knew already 🤣
@@TheJrr71 I mean, you were right either way, and tbf, it wasn't that well-known unless you went looking for his interviews, etc
Legit this. I've literally watched DOZENS ot lets play reactors and never, ever, ever seen a reaction this level-headed before. So impressed.
Honestly I kinda wish she hated Abby more because i love to see SPOILERS
the journey from hating Abby to caring about her
I'm in the same boat.
I can't help but wonder how she will react to some of Ellie's actions in the game and the encounter with the [Spoiler] King
[ I can't say anymore or It will just ruin surprise we all felt in the encounter she is a very perceptive person]
I just got Ellie's tattoo done a few days ago. To say this game changed my life would be an understatement. I love this game and story with my whole heart and soul and I'm so happy to share this experience with you now ❤
Wow wat a dork. Why not use ur own real life experiences to get a tattoo n not a made up video game story lol
Very late response, but that’s awesome! I absolutely want an Ellie tattoo when I’m older as well.
honestly i wanna get one too
First game: Joel to Ellie when they're arguing - "You have no idea what loss is."
Second game: Joel singing to Ellie - "If I were to ever lose you, I'd surely lose myself."
That is such an important connection to make between the games IMO.
That’s what it does!
she's got good taste! ❤️
I just have to piggyback on that but most people are spoiled because they're on social media if you remove that component it becomes a bit easier. Note I said it becomes easier it's not 100% solution but it helps alot.
19:48 Thank you!! That transition is so ominous and cool yet no one ever mentions it! It's sounds so good through headphones
❤️
Grats on finishing it buddy! You glad you did?
@@brinu5341 yeah very glad. I freaking loved it. I plan to play through again soon
This. I’ve been saying for years that the leaks did so much damage. I know so many who got pissed and just didn’t play the game because the didn’t experience it, they just heard pieces and decided it was trash. Unfortunate, but it also encourages my thought that many who hate it struggle with emotional maturity
totally agree. poor ellie has gone through a lot in this game. Joel’s death was really sad, but the way it changes Ellie is what really fucked me up.
Well there you go, that’s the first blow in this game. Expect the unexpected in this one and I hope you enjoy it till the end.
❤️ cheers! we're in for a treat!
This will be a journey - Please play it through to the end before making your judgement.
A very long one, but one that has changed me irl as well 😭😂
Definitely. By the time I finished this game, I absolutely loved it.
lmao
I agree with these comments!!
exactly!!
I love that guitar music in the part 2. It's like cinematic, big sounding guitars. And you can hear the fingers sliding on the strings when changing played notes, a sound of sliding fingers on the fret. Incredible.
Its so intimate, personal and immensely beautiful.
"Joel we found you a new wife" 😭😭😭😭😭😭
A bit fucked up considering that Abby is just slightly older than Ellie.
@@Dark__Thoughts that's a very dark thought

@@CrimsonFucker412 Oh hell yeah it does, I highly recommend you give it a go, another game I love to death lol
@@CrimsonFucker412 absolutely. One of those games that is just timeless, the mechanics and levels are top tier.
@@XxRemotexX you worded this perfectly
@@Dark__Thoughts crazy thing though, I started to hope Ellie would forgive Abby and at the end she finally let’s go of her hate and Abby lives. You can see the pain and suffering in Abby as well when Ellie cut her down from the pole.
I’ve played the game multiple times, watched gameplay from multiple creators, and Joel’s death makes me cry every single time
Glad you seem to be trusting & accepting in the story.
Why should we give it a chance after this stupidly set up and most disrespectful beginning ever?
@@Сайтамен
1. Because you can't judge a story if you haven't at least played it through
2. Give it a chance because a lot of people have been saying it's good
3. It's actually okay to feel angry because you've spent so much time with Joel. It's about how you process that anger (5 stages of grief)
@@Сайтамен You don't have to do anything. You missed out on a fantastic game, but that's your prerogative.
You really pay attention and pick up on all the unspoken things conveyed through facial expressions and things not said, I think this game will be really rewarding to you :)
thanks so much!! hope i can catch onto more ❤️
The opening music where Joel and Tommy are riding back to Jackson is called Unbroken and it's one of the best video game tracks I've ever heard
awh man ;~; so emotional!

"I'm not looting anything, I'm on a mission" *Proceeds to loot the entire house* 😂
Very interested to see you through this journey! Already got some very different reactions from the norm with muscle mommy” and the very unfortunate “Joel we found you a new wife!” lol
Most interesting is your willingness to try and understand the possible motivations for these new characters coming in and taking out a beloved character.
I know it’s just a game, but every time I get sad about joel, I remind myself that he’s with sarah and tess now
her reaction to the den scene is amazing
❤️ ty peachy!
I just love how you just got it… a lot of people got pissed off when they realize that Joel kicks the can because he didn’t deserve it. Like bro! Dude made a loooot of enemies along the way. People got pissed off because he died the way that he did, like he has to go in a blaze of glory… bro… shit happens… I always remember a quote from a movie called the unforgiven when Little Bill said “I don’t deserve to die like this” and William Munny said “deserving got nothing to do with it”
I love your new expression! “How the turns have tabled” :)
But yeah… like the sixers fans… “trust the process” this is just starting!
And I think the idea of playing as Ellie was always on the table, I mean you get to play as her during winter and left behind…
Don’t get me wrong.
He was a woodcarver, he was a luthier, he sang songs… he didn’t trust anybody because his surroundings were untrustworthy, Jackson allowed him to be somewhat “him” pre-outbreak
Yeah… just that :)

Fun fact: The song that Ellie is listening to while sketching during the first cut-scene is the song she sang in the first teaser trailer we ever say 2ish years before the game came out. Through the Valley by Shawn James.
It’s crazy to see how much better at stealth she’s gotten.
And yet she still doesn't know how to use the bottle/bricks for stealth it's actually kinda amusing no offense eralia
HAHHA thank you! ❤️
Thank-you for your service. The attention to detail of this game, every room, every word. It is the standard by which games will be judged for a long time.
Oh damn this is way sooner than i thought! I hope you enjoy the game!
You're right, the DVD Sarah and Joel watch in the TV show was 'Curtis and Viper 2', which is a reference to TLOU Part II.
i gasped so hard at this notification 😂 ur the goat fr !!!!
Saaaaame 🤣
❤❤❤

I just started watching this series cause I just finished the show. I watched your play through of tlou 1 and the add on. I always feel seen when you’re crying at the same time as me lol. I wasn’t expecting to be sobbing so much dude.
Based on your reaction to beginning of the game, I think you gonna love the game and will understand the message just fine, which is believe it or not sooo incredibly rare in this community
Have fun playing😊
She’s right about the wait for this game and it being emotional on the first play. I’ll never forget how speechless the opening scenes had me
already so pumped for part two! this was a blast to watch as always!!
❤️❤️ woo thanks!!
The tears on her notebook page when she draws the owl gets me everytime
I just started watching, i am at minute 4:00 so i don't now how far you played in this videeo yet, but either way, i can say: you have no idea, what you are walking into. I'm fu**ing excited for this ride.
You can kinda see if you hover over the bar at the end. She made her break pretty much where everyone else takes their break though.
@@Dark__Thoughts Thanks, i know how to use the timeline bar 🤣 I did not want to spoil myself, just wanted to get my comment out before i was really starting.
thanks for watching aaaah!! ❤️
I don't think I've ever laughed and cried so hard watching a game play video before. Love your work. :)
16:09 we waited the whole first game + 7 years … it was worth it.
This game killed me …. Can’t stop thinking about it even after 3 years..
And the end was just cringe ‘🥹revenge is bad’ and Dina left her anyway gameplay and graphics were the only good thing about this game and Tommy THATS IT
@@mrcooshie8436 Exactly 👍🏻
@@mrcooshie8436 do stfu with the spoilers
We all cried, baby girl. So glad you are playing this unspoiled.
41:19 "JOEL WE FIND YOU A NEW WIFE" ☠️☠️🏌️♀️
lol 💀
can't think of a more perfect person to be playing trough this - you are coming at it with the exact right mindset.
Breaking their discs is just stupid, I mean they paid for it, could have sold it but instead just trashed their money. Also, the game is soooo good.
Been looking forward to this series getting going and this first video did not disappoint.
So much investment in the characters, visceral reaction to the story, genuine smiles, blushes, sorrow. It is great to see someone get so into this narrative and these characters, Really looking forward to the rest of the series. There is so much more to come 👌
(Tommy and Joel frantically trying to keep everyone alive) "Give us a hand with this thing!" Eralia: (softly) "loot..... loot......... loot......."
😂😂😂😂💀
2:27:38 The emotional damage in this game is real, no spoilers, but first game was like happy days in comparison, prep yourself, looking forward to your awesome reactions as usual, no matter how many times that part with Joel is emotional damage 😭😭
“Abby! That’s her name. I’ll remember that name forever.”
❤️
Don't think it's been mentioned yet but the song Joel plays is called "Future Days" by Pearl Jam. Apparently Druckman is a superfan and sang this song to his kid when they were growing up. Great playthrough, can't wait to go on the rest of this wild emotional ride with you.
This game is tough. But it’s a hell of a experience. Good luck.
I JUST CAME BACK FROM AN EXHAUSTING DAY AT WORK AND YOURE SAVING ME WITH THIS VIDEO🙏🙏 SO EXCITED TO WATCH 😊😊
❤️
I have played this 3 times now. Got the platinum. Saw 2 playthroughs on YT.
You seem very charismatic, I will see this playthrough as well.
Good work Eralia, nice to meet your channel!
Bro I am so excited for this I cannot even explain. I’m sitting here at work drooling over it 🤤- wait that sounded weird 😹 but I know what I’m watching when I get home! 💯 🏡 🍻 Also, I hope you made sure the dog gets a good scratch 🐕
LMAO! always pet the dogs! enjoy the series ❤️
The face model for Dina has also played this game without really having gaming knowledge beforehand. Cascina Caradonna if one felt the urge to watch that at some point. Not a plug promise, just a fun fact xD .. If only Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson had proper Let's Plays as well xD
