I won't lie, I have a lot of trust issues. I love God, and Christ is my rock. But there are churches that scare me. I just joined a Baptist church where I live, and so far, I cannot find any concerning things about it. Its not John MacArthur's church or whoever else is a big time bible teacher. but so far its ok... I think it's important for anyone to listen to what is taught and to test everything said with the word of God. My associate pastor the other day, when I was questioning my sinful nature although i had given my life to Christ, and he read right out of the bible the passage where Paul talks about struggling with sin. And he said the fact that i was bothered by my sin so much was an indication that I was on the right path.
I really think the church I've been going to the last 3.5 years pretty much does everything right according to the Bible except for one thing that I can think of. I've never once heard the pastor preach about repentance. Even the deciples wouldn't baptize sometimes because they needed to see proof of repentance. This church has a lot of college "kids" so they come to church with their Starbucks and shorts way to to you know where but if no one tells them it's wrong, how will they know? That's my main concern about this particular church. People don't know they need to change and they need to hear that from the pulpit. They can't keep doing what they've always done just because they said "the sinners prayer". Repentance is part of salvation. I know God has to do the work and he will. These things just really bother me.
I can't disagree with 90% of this. Here comes the 'however' though. If a church quoting "handles the Word of God well", it will view friendships/relationships and it's worship music well. They are not mutually exclusive. If the 'preaching' is biblical, but the music is legalistic, or people 'prefer' some kinds of people over others and lack welcoming love, then I argue, it really isn't "handling the Word of God well".
Wouldn't it be of the utmost importance to find the church that teaches the absolute, doctrinal and apostolic truth? This would seem more important than finding a church that is aesthetically appealing. Jesus taught the absolute, doctrinal truth to His apostles and then commissioned them to go out and evangelize the entire world. So, where do we find the church that teaches this absolute, doctrinal truth since the time of the apostles?
Yeah I can’t imagine where one would find a church that was established by Jesus and contains the apostolic deposit of truth passed down through the ages.
1 Corinthians 11:26- the Eucharist is the body, soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ. Please come to the Catholic Church..the Church Our Good Lord founded when he ordained our first Pope Peter over 2,000 years ago. Come home.

The church you see today are just business centers
Find a church that follows God's commandments all 10 of them including worshipping on the sabbath which is Saturday.
