I find comfort in knowing Luther's goal wasn't to start a new church or be schismatic. When there's a split, the one being obstinate and unrepentant in their sinning surely has to take the most blame (like the selling of indulgences). I wish Rome had admitted it was wrong for selling indulgences as the whole reformation could have been avoided.
