Ryan, you didn't super epoxy the floor??? Wth is wrong with you??? You do ALL THAT to every ⛶ " of the Shop and neglect the Whole floor??? You lazy bastard!!! Lol 🤣 J/k kid, well...Just a little!! Great job bro...Now, get the damn floor done!
I think reclaiming the old plywood was genius! I don't think I would have even thought of it as an option but it looks soo much better on those pillars!! Great job and fantastic renovation! p.s. I never would have chosen green but always trust the wife because it is absolutely perfect with the old wood!!
Without doubt, this was the best workshop reno video I have seen in years. Enough detail, enough time lapse, enough narration and enough honesty to keep me engaged through to the very end. If channels like yours and Tasting History prove anything, it is that there is no magic formula to UA-cam success. Please yourself with what you're doing and the numbers will come ... and all the good and bad that comes along with them.
Mate what you did with this place is amazing.... well done... One thing i would say is - Just make the videos the way you enjoy making them.... Whoever likes them they will come along.
You will never make everyone happy with how you do things so just do the things that you want to do and do them your way. Just do you! Congrats on the progress of your shop, you have done a great job especially for doing it all by yourself.
This was the first of your videos I’ve watched. Would not have mentioned except that you did. The B-roll music was perfect volume. Creators get carried away with that a lot of times. Great video.
Lots of hard work you put in but the space came out looking great. Like the green and ended up liking how you re-used the plywood to pull things together. You are never going to make everyone happy so do what makes you happy and we'll come along for the ride.
My bedroom at my parents house as a teenager was that same color as your shop and i picked it out and painted it myself so i love it, and now i am 70,boy time flies !!I have been watching your channel for about a year and i really enjoy seeing what cool stuff you make. I know how much work it took to do all that because i do some pretty crazy things like that too
Outstanding work and results. One thought… on a next opportunity, treat the exposed concrete with a sealer for a beautiful result. Concrete can also be stained and sealed. I love the look. Regarding what viewers like… just go with what you like. Can’t please everyone all of the time, so no sense trying to. 😉 Cheers.
I almost skipped over your shop renovation video, But I went back and hit play because this isn't any shop! This is Mr. Overkill/Super Beast, renovation! Congratulations on subscribers. I always thought I was an Overkill, protectionist until I met you, my friend! It's funny that you mentioned that people critique your videos so much when I can see 👀 the incredible amount of work that you pour into them! You are 💯 Dewalt should bump you 3k per month for overworking my favorite planer!! Fantastic advertising for Dewalt
Great work getting the shop updated. I wish I had had that much room when I had my shop. I had a 20'X30' with a 4'X8' table saw setup in the middle and my multi use toolboxes taking up room. I did have all the tooling I needed but only had enough room leftover for a single project at a time. I often wondered how some woodworkers got by with much less room without spending too much room getting to the tools. I had twin daughters in the shop with me roller skating and playing hop scotch to start with but they turned into great woodworkers as time passed. I'm physically beyond woodworking now and don't have much more than some drills and circular saws to work with. But I get to enjoy others work through videos like yours. Take care, jack
Amazing for 1 person. Perfect for shop. If you do an occupied space do a brick pattern layout on the gyp. More time for taping but not needed on a shop or garage where you aren’t concerned on lasting finish (cracks/paintfinish / etc. Keep, the good work going. Amazing as always
The new finished shop looks awesome. You worked very hard and it shows. Great job, well done! The green looks good, as does the finished old wood. Narration, low volume instrumenral music and no beard, please. Best of luck to you and your channel. Thanks!
Ryan, have to congratulate you on this shop overhaul, it was massive and time consuming. The end result of your hard work paid off, you shop looks clean, organized, and well thought out. Although your 5+ weeks of hard labor was reduced to a 26 minute video, I have to say that even though you did all of the work, I felt your exhaustion. Looking forward to another one of your projects whenever you get the time to put out a new video. Thanks for sharing this journey with all of you fans.
Amazing shop! I too struggle to know what content to put on my channel, but my hobbies differ from my day job, so I'll never be a week a video kind of guy either. At the end of the day, you do you bro. Very impressed with your DIY skills and thorough process. Do it once, do it right. If I've said that once, I've said it literally 1,000 times. Happy to have stumbled on the channel, and you certainly earned a Sub.
I like everything you did, here. The size of your workspace is unbelievable. I’d be thrilled to have 1/4 of that. My job doesn’t allow me the time to dedicate to projects like yours, so I’ll just make the most of what I have. I think I’d have painted the ceilings white (only for overall space brightness), and I’d have mix’n’match painted the shelving units with some classic colors (just like your walls 💚) to reflect the barn’s heritage. Looking forward to many more videos in this space.
New to your channel, the algorithm knows im a sucker for a workshop renovation. Note to EVERY other woodworking channel on UA-cam - this is how it’s done! A workshop reno doesn’t have to be 35 episodes long!! We got all the information we needed & none we didn’t. It’s obvious your a hard worker because of this. New subscriber here well earned!👍🏼
Hey Ryan. It was fascinating and really fun to watch you renovate your shop. I’ve been watching some of your project videos and am blown away by your creativity and skill! I do have to say I am quite jealous of your spacious shop and your machines. I have to make do with strategically storing all my tools in my single car garage, and then do my DIY projects on my driveway or back patio. Well, you’re an inspiration to try new things with woodworking!! Keep up the great work!!
New here because of this video. I enjoyed watching the project unfold quickly. The green paint looks good for it being a wood shop. It fits trees are green so to have a green shop. good cutting to you and we look forward to seeing what's coming... God Bless
You do you! I watched the whole renovation because it was interesting, educational and entertaining. Your editing is very good, music works, narration works. Keep doing what you want to do.
OMG, you have a lot of wood! I can see that it was a lot of work but it was worth it, you did an amazing job and it looks amazing! I wold live there no problem :)
congrats on persevering through it, it was well worth the effort, also if you don't wanna burn out then do what you wanna do, how you wanna do it and as often as you wanna do it (if YT is not your full time job that is)
I like the green walls. I also really love the space. All those ceiling height windows are a dream I have for my shop. I own the building, so I can add the windows. But, what I like the most is what you said about quality over quantity. That sort of thinking is so important in today's rushed world. Keep making sawdust my friend. John in Bethel, Missouri
This was a monster of a project and I salute you for being able to do all this yourself in just 5 weeks!!! Green walls and windows look absolutely awesome, as well as the columns and the big beam! Fantastic work man!!!!
Fair bit of work there - impressive space and room to grow. The paint choice isn’t to my taste but it still looks good. The shelves are really good. Looking forward to seeing more projects.
Awesome transformation!! Really jealous about that much space. Buuuuut...as an (german) electrician, I have to ask you to take care of the cabling in your shop. Those "wonky" wires coming down from the ceiling drive me crazy...
Wow! Ryan, I’ve done much of the same work at different times in my life, but never at one time or on such a massive scale! The shop looks absolutely amazing and well organized. Looks completely different. Putting the old plywood over the posts and completing the windows was a great idea as they dress up the shop a lot. I like the color and you were right, the shop is plenty big enough to handle a dark color. If you find that your partnership with the winery provides too many barrels for you, I’d be happy to take them off your/their hands. I’d even drive up from Southern California to pick them up! No doubt it feels great to walk in the shop in the morning now and, it’s nicer to work in. It may not make you work faster, but it surely uplifts your spirit while you’re working. Congratulations on the shop makeover and hope you have a very long and lucrative career in it. Look forward to your future builds and videos, with or without music and voiceovers. I’ll even enjoy watching them more now since you have such a nice looking shop!
You nailed the vapour barrier assessment. You need to balance the indoor air quality. It’s a science, it’s complicated. Air flow, filtration, humidity control, temperature control…. For your needs.
Great work! The shop now looks like a proper professional work space. All you need now is a small 100 sqft living space and you would have the perfect HOUSE!
I was out of breath watching your reno - good job. I like the green, too. I watch another woodworker on here who has all his clamps in a tall rollaway - good idea?
am a new subscriber and just going through your videos, as im a 56 year old about to bite the bullet on my own workshop, something i have aspired to do for many years, its now time, and really enjoy your videos of your journey as it helps me and my confidence, so congrats on that :) good luck for the future, am sure it will be bright :)
Amazed how little equipment you have. Usually successful youtube woodworking guys have a shop stuffed full of Festools, and a giant Sawstop saw in the middle of the shop... :-) You simply show that to do cool stuff, you really do not need that much stuff.....
Ryan, you are a great example of the consistent persistence it takes to get a job done, no matter how big. A good example for this casual woodworker who needs to get in the shop more!
I think you shop looks great. Wish I could have a shop like that. Very lucky man. The green is awesome and green is my favorite color is the color of money why wouldn’t it be my favorite color I kind of like money well anyway enjoyed the video hope to watch many more good job.
Hey Ryan, I’m new to your channel and absolutely loving it! As someone who has recently moved into a 600sqft workshop, I truly appreciate how much work has gone into this. My hands and arms hurt just watching it! Congratulations on a superb space 👍🏼
Ryan, excellent job on the project . Working all that amount of space by yourself made me exhausted watching. You should feel proud of what you accomplished.
Incredible solo work with the shop reno and the green looks great. Love the honesty and ownership of where you are at, where you want to be, what you have accomplished, and what you haven't followed through on. Keep up the great work.
WOW! I am only a fan of one week but I have managed to go back and watch as many videos of yours as I can. I was also glad to send $, I really think your creative genius should be driven by your own sense of challenge and desire to accomplish. I imagine the ideas can really gang up on you. Perhaps you might jot down these ideas on 3 by 5 cards or in a notebook - just describe the project, add a sketch etc and review the notes during your snack breaks etc. And when the time is right, i.e. materials go on sale or are given to you, go for a test run and put it up on your beautiful web site. As for the beard, you decide; I'd rather not have one as they tend to itch and you'd have dust all over your face. The updated shop is very smart, organized and I love the attention to detail especially using all that scrap material to great effect. Carry on. and Thanks
Wow, what a mammoth task that was. Thank goodness for time lapse. Well done, the shop looks amazing and love the colour. If you talk too much I’ll just put the sound off, as long as I get to watch the process of you making stuff.
You are going to have water in you walls moisture is going to condense where you didn’t put insulation. Little mold never hurt anyone. Excellent job. Keep up the hard hard work.
Well Ryan I have to say I find you refreshing, sharp, and interesting. I have just watched this renovation video of your workshop and I can honestly say it is one of the best I have ever seen on UA-cam. Thank you for that, Thank you for taking the added time to film it, as well as all the work you have done, It could not have been easy stopping and starting to get all the shots just right. Amazing work all around. I have now subscribed and look forward to much more of your content moving forward. Keep up the great work Ryan. Love and Respect from North London UK.
I like the green walls and really enjoy your videos. So any content you put out is fine with me. I know the videoing and working and editing is a lot. I have a small you tube channel and it is hard to keep all that going. A lot of times i just want to work and build stuff and not do the filming because it slows me down and takes up so much more time. The renovation looks amazing. It is funny how much stuff you can accumulate over time. Take care and stay safe.
You could try stripping the paint off with a sandblaster using dry ice or walnut depending on how gentle you want to be on the wall behind it being that the MPa/compressive strength of the cement may or may not stand up to such treatment. I just hope the paint on the wall your stripping off isn't that old and lead based.
Hello Ryan, I am Real and first congratulations for all your hard work as I when true that in my old 1832 3 floors feed mill, and see that you take the time to redo when you realize it may be was a mistake... and I do appreciate all the recycling, for the green wall i really like when it was prime light green, as they hunter green makes the place look smaller than it is, love the time laps video and it does close down as you apply the finish coat but they are some good solutions around that for the future if you decide to light it up, Keep up the good work and we will be following up with your channel. Sincerely Real N.
Wow! What a fantastic work space! I confess, green is my least favorite color and when you said you were painting it green, I thought, NOOOO! 😁 But, I have to admit it looks really nice, especially with all the wood tones to break it up. The refurbished plywood even turned out great. I really love how you finished out the windows! That was a huge space to tackle on your own and you did a wonderful job. Enjoy your space and I look forward to seeing the future projects you create there!
Thanks for watching! If you receive a reply from me asking you to message me on Telegram or for anything at all, that is NOT me. Please report as spam or simply ignore.

It's happening allot right now.
Dont make cutting board videos only, its so boring
I think reclaiming the old plywood was genius! I don't think I would have even thought of it as an option but it looks soo much better on those pillars!! Great job and fantastic renovation! p.s. @@ryanhawkins I second this. Sorry I wasn't here with the first 100k. Take your time and keep doing you. I'll be here for the 1Mil. Cheers
Beer back. 😂
Looks great! I feel that shop spaces go through 3 stages. The shop you think you need, The shop you realize you do need, and The shop you dont need.
Mate what you did with this place is amazing.... well done... One thing i would say is - Just make the videos the way you enjoy making them.... Whoever likes them they will come along.
I am amazed how much you did all by yourself!!! What a transformation!
Very nice way to turn something "messy" into a very cozy workplace
You will never make everyone happy with how you do things so just do the things that you want to do and do them your way. Just do you! Congrats on the progress of your shop, you have done a great job especially for doing it all by yourself.
I very much admire the "clean as you work" ethic on display.
This was the first of your videos I’ve watched. Would not have mentioned except that you did. The B-roll music was perfect volume. Creators get carried away with that a lot of times. Great video.

loved the look of the patchwork plywood pillars, chaotic yet aesthetically pleasing to the eyes!

Love your choice of color for the green walls & ceiling. It has a nice calming effect, at least I hope it does for you. Great video.
This is the true passion for the craft ❤
@T.elegram_OfficialRyanHawkins. hey you MF, scammer
just like me ... 20 years ago .. great work

Wow …. What an incredible transformation … looks great !
Ryan Great Video !!! I really loved the way you reused/repurposed all the wood and dry wall ! Great job keep up the good work !
Your workshop looks absolutely great. You did an awesome job.
An Amazing Transformation of your shop!
Well done, Ryan!
wow this place look so much better now congrats
Awesome transformation!! Really jealous about that much space. Buuuuut...as an (german) electrician, I have to ask you to take care of the cabling in your shop. Those "wonky" wires coming down from the ceiling drive me crazy...

Thank you for the kind and detailed comment🙂
You nailed the vapour barrier assessment. You need to balance the indoor air quality. It’s a science, it’s complicated.
Air flow, filtration, humidity control, temperature control…. For your needs.
Nailed it. The paint color and finished wood really gives it a 1920's industrial/craftsman vibe.
Great work! The shop now looks like a proper professional work space. All you need now is a small 100 sqft living space and you would have the perfect HOUSE!
Dobrý večer jste úžasně šikovný člověk vaše práce je umělecké dílo
Thank you for the tour of your new shop. You done an amazing job!
Amazing video. Thank you. The amount of hard work and detail is surprising.
Wow! I didn't think I would like green walls but turned out fancy. Btw beard looks cool on you 😉
the shop looks awesome and makes me really envious! I really like the dark green
Mercy sakes, sir, YOU are a machine! Very nice job
I was out of breath watching your reno - good job. I like the green, too. I watch another woodworker on here who has all his clamps in a tall rollaway - good idea?
Tons and tons of work and dust. Real respect for the work you've done.
What a huge renovation!
Amazing transformation. Well done.
am a new subscriber and just going through your videos, as im a 56 year old about to bite the bullet on my own workshop, something i have aspired to do for many years, its now time, and really enjoy your videos of your journey as it helps me and my confidence, so congrats on that :) good luck for the future, am sure it will be bright :)
Amazed how little equipment you have. Usually successful youtube woodworking guys have a shop stuffed full of Festools, and a giant Sawstop saw in the middle of the shop... :-) You simply show that to do cool stuff, you really do not need that much stuff.....
It’s amazing what can be done with basic tools. Of course I’m working towards that dream set up but for now I’ll work with what I got
Love the new shop. The green is a great match with the exposed cedar and wood.
Great job in transformation of you shop. Few more items on the list but you'll get there. 👍
I love the new wood shop. It was really cool watching the renovation, you did a great job. As far as the music and beard go, you do you.
What a great space. Good job.
Ryan, excellent job on the project . Working all that amount of space by yourself made me exhausted watching. You should feel proud of what you accomplished.
Well done, when you walk in your workshop on a morning it will bring a smile to your face 😉
It certainly does!
I like the green very much. The space is wonderfully organized and clean. Hard work but well worth the effort. Excellent job!
the windows look SOOO much better. thank you for finishing them out!
your work ethic is insane, I am puffed just watching this video
Incredible solo work with the shop reno and the green looks great. Love the honesty and ownership of where you are at, where you want to be, what you have accomplished, and what you haven't followed through on. Keep up the great work.
🙂

That was a heck of a project. Thanks for sharing 👍
Looks nice, Ryan. Two thumbs up.
Lo felicito por el excelente trabajo realizado, lo que más mi impresionó fue su forma tan eficiente de tratar y reciclar los matetiales
I love your green walls! You've done a fantastic job!
My votes: no beard, no music 💜
You are going to have water in you walls moisture is going to condense where you didn’t put insulation. Little mold never hurt anyone.
Excellent job. Keep up the hard hard work.
That is amazing! You are the most ambitious person I know! Wow! It’s beautiful and a great story!
Well Ryan I have to say I find you refreshing, sharp, and interesting. I have just watched this renovation video of your workshop and I can honestly say it is one of the best I have ever seen on UA-cam. Really appreciate hearing that! So glad you subscribed, look forward to bringing you more fun build videos!
Wow!! That is a lot of work.
That was a ton of work, great job
I like the green walls and really enjoy your videos. So any content you put out is fine with me. I know the videoing and working and editing is a lot. I have a small you tube channel and it is hard to keep all that going. New space is great and for sure organized. It will make projects smoother
A lot of hard work went into the shop renovation, but it was all worth it in the end , as you killed it, well done.
That was a ton of work. Good for you! That's a work ethic. Almost forgot, the shop looks great. I'm just ever so slightly jealous. Cheers.
Seen one of your previous videos,by accident.
Your shop makes me jealous and inspired.
Enjoy
Wow that was so much work to do by yourself
Cool shop transformation, thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the green walls.
some serious work there
Great job Ryan!
