I think the iPhone 16 Pro and DJI Osmo Pocket 3 are both formidable opponents, however, one has to win.

Osmo Pocket 3 all day everyday! 🔥
The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 wins as it has the larger sensor and it takes up less space and it has superior gimbal stabilization which is superior to electronic stabilization especially when it comes to maintain the video quality in low light AND it's cheaper too. For video editing you can use programs that are actually compatible with Windows. Most UA-camrs use a PC to do video editing.
Im 4 minutes in but never seen a comparison with 2 images output that are incredibly similars! But you are right a phone that can receive calls while your in the middle of recording is wild 😂

I used to vlog on my phone that was my only device and definitely it's not a good experience, the storage gets full and phone runs out of battery during shoots and then you can't communicate

Pocket 3 is going to produce the superior footage, but you need a second device to edit the footage. You only need the iPhone to film, edit, and publish.

No it's not. The Apple ProRes with the 400-600mbps blows the Pocket out of the water. Far more detail in the iPhone files. Not to mention you get way more versatility in focal lengths.
@@michaelbell75Pocket 3 is superior in low light, natural bokeh / focus, stability (Especially in low light, since digital stabilization really decreases the low light footage). Pocket 3 is also half the price.

Iphone jitters at night
Nice but iPhone is way more expensive then the osmo pocket 3, mounting your phone on the car for roller shots is also not possible without big attatchments

iPhone footage looking better than the osmo in almost every shot to me..except for that shot of you with the tree behind you, that’ was fire for the osmo..But maybe is the focal length doing..idk I tend to lean toward the iPhone colors as well..great video..
This.Might just be me but the problem I have with my phone is I just don’t find myself using it as a camera. When I take out the pocket 3 I seem to be more creative

iPhone 16 pro all day and everything else. I don’t want Osmo Pocket 3. I can’t call, text, limited zoom. I can’t edits, I can’t post on social medias. iPhone can save my life in certain ways.

Don't forget with the Pocket 3, you can pair 2 Mic 2 Tx and you can use the Internal recording as well as the Noise Cancelling. If the Mic 2 is paired to a phone/tablet/non-dji action camera like Gopro Hero/Insta360 Ace Pro/X4/X3....the Noise Cancelling and 32-bit float internal recording does not work, however, said features work on the DJI Action 4 & 5Pro

The iPhone had a more cinematic look. I think you could remove some green from skin and it would be way better than osmo. Osmo looked good but too blue. For me at least.
Simple color adjustment can fix that. I think it’s really more to do with the tint that the iPhone has alllied, or the ND filter I had on there

I make my videos on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which I don’t do any fancy edits or color grading or anything but I am still really happy with the results. One big advantage for the iPhone is you can film, edit, and publish all on the same device. Can’t do that on the pocket 3

Nice video, nicer gold cross. I used to have one just like that and let my ex-gf wear it and then we broke up and I never got it back. I looked on amazon but I can't find one like it. You’re always going to have your phone. Pocket 3 gives you a superior standard video camera. And gimbal with tracking. That’s why I bought it. I don’t use it as much as my phone or Sony mirrorless because I’m photography-heavy but pocket 3 is a boss for video.
I return it because I didn't use it that much. I use my iPhone everywhere. It's always with me.
The iPhone has to win this one. ONE STOP SHOPPING.

I own both and I love them. I want to get a gimbal to use the iphones 150mm lens for some sick parallax shots (one thing I wish the Osmo would have a version that can shoot at least 50mm) any one have any experience with this?

Although I always get the highest spec iPhone whenever I upgrade (currently on 15 pro max) I never use the camera for really anything other than quick clips/pics of family or something I see in a store or documents for work since it’s so easy to for me to get click on Instagram or UA-cam or whatever and miss too many moments. When I’m using the Pocket 3 I feel way more dedicated to capturing good video and focusing on where I am and what I’m doing, and it’s so easy to carry around!
Awesome video, great comparison between the specs too. I have the Pocket3, and it’s a great camera. I also use my iPhone 12 Pro Max for video sometimes, which is no match for the Pocket3. I’ll eventually upgrade to the 16 Pro Max. Keep up the great work bruh, your videos do have value.👍🏾👊🏾
Awesome comparison! Wondering if there would be much of a difference on the iPhone 16 Pro when selecting LOG in ProRes vs HEVC in the BlackMagic App. BTW Phantom LUTs for the Osmo Pocket and the iPhone Pro could make this a very fair comparison as it would translate the colors to match

Samsung S24 Ultra has already been proven to be better then the iPhone 16 pro. So don't understand the video. Especially when comparing it to a OP3

I've had the Osmo Pocket 3 for almost a year now. It's my main vlogging camera. I've wanted to be able to use my phone to supplement for those moments I'm not carrying the Osmo Pocket around. I had a OnePlus 9Pro, which technically is an amazing camera... BUT. On the OnePlus I could double click the power button and bring the camera up quick, when I would shoot video though, the first 3 seconds would be choppy and totally unusable. So, it's been 2 years and I was ready for something new. I've never, NEVER had an iphone. I really liked that camera button/slider they put on the 16. So I went for it. I got the Pro Max. So far I'm loving it. I need to play around with colors more because it's been coming out pretty flat. I can color grade it but I'd like it to put some more color right out of the camera.

Would be cool if you could lock the gimbal on the pocket 3 and still shoot. But that is maybe a bit nit picky haha.
I just find it amazing that if you shoot Sony or BM (I say Sony and BM as i have the most experience with them) as main rig you can kinda get away with using the pocket 3 when you need stabilized shoots(specially for youtube content), so you don't have switch your main rig to a gimbal setup. And (to some extent finally! ) are getting to the point that an iphone is a good c cam or in my case monitor for a cam(it's a time it was the best screen people carried with them for a while now). One can shoot pro level music video or doc's with a shoulder/handheld main rig, osmo pocket 3, osmo action 5 pro, and an iphone. And still fit all of that in a carry on Peli and have room left for extra underwear. Because that action 5 is obviously mounted in a place where you'll sh t yourself placing it to get that shot haha. The iPhone 16 audio sounds like mud to me. There's no comparison in your video between the native mics. (Thank you Apple marketing propaganda) Also, you need to compare the DJI mic 2 audio on the pocket 3 (RF) versus Bluetooth audio on the iPhone I think you will find that the Mic 2 sounds way better on the pocket 3 than it does on the iPhone because of BT vs RF

Over sharpness
Unfortunately, iPhone is soft. I could see the difference in all your samples even with the UA-cam compression. It's true resolution is more like eight megapixels once can you take into account pixel bining , And don't use digital zoom. It gets much worse. Try photographing a newspaper with both cameras and load them into ps and zoom in and compare both images. You'll be surprised. how bad the iPhone looks.
