Thank you all so much for watching! If you liked this lesson, watch my lesson on famous Shakespeare quotations: ua-cam.com/video/vlpq241xQTw/v-deo.html My video about terms for new and old British currency will also help you understand classic English novels: ua-cam.com/video/OcKqzB9pxQw/v-deo.html
Good, thanks i am an english teacher yozr lectures are very useful for me! I know english classic lectreture and American writers and also the books which a have read.
Stop thinking that people are stupid. Those who are are the ones watching your videos and enjoying them. Do not annunciate and explain carefully what a word or a phrase means: if people do not know what the hell you are talking about they can search it up. It takes three seconds to say, ‘Today’s lesson is on an English authors’, but You chose to dwell on it for more than 8 or so seconds. I do not feel bad that less people are watching you, you deserve it.
Some of the old quots are never obsolete. They come handy now and again and I, for one , love using them, not being afraid to sound old-fashioned 🙂 Such a pleasure to listen to your calm, thoughtful explanations, Gill🤝❄️♥️
Dear Ma'am Gill, This was a fantastic lesson with the caption " Famous Quotations From Charles Dickens !" Amongst these novels Great Expectations and David Copperfield are very well known to the readers. The quotations perhaps help us to relate well to the content of the book and give us quite an enriched feeling ! Thanks for coming up with these wonderful quotations, which are true to all times !😊
Thanks Gill for your amazing lesson on Dickens. You aren’t only an English teacher you are also an excellent economist. Your explanation of inflation and borrowing is fantastic. Word of economist. I’ll never ask your age !!! Take care.
I want to see you one day by visiting you in England if I can afford it dear teacher. Thanks to your support I learn English deeply and effectively. A lot of respect from Türkiye
Hello dear hope you are doing great in all the aspects of your life. And don’t worry about stupid rude people. Because here we don’t any right to ask questions about your private life. We must be thanksgiving for the free lessons that you give us for boosting our English. I too must have to thank you 🙏 for the lessons that you give here. I follow you very often. But not yet everyday because I am at school and I don’t have a lot of time. But I feel blessed with you lessons and isn’t a hypocrite from my part it’s absolutely right to tell you thanks 🙏. Have a nice afternoon God bless you dear
David Copperfield has been called 'the hero of the novel'. I thought a hero is only the character who saves the world. Thank you for the language insight.
I'm from Iraq. I'm very interested in your lessons and enjoyed the way you introduce them. I do like your pronunciation. Thank you much for the awesome subjects you introduce to your followers.
Merry Christmas Gill! A Christmas Carol, David Coperfield, are my favourites. He wrote on so many topics, and as you read some qoutations from his booka, I thought, oh me, oh my, isn't that strange, that they mean the same today as they did in those days. I guess, their thoughts made the world richer my many ways. I read Charles Dickens in the Senior Classes in School with a very well read Teacher.
Love your lessons!❤ You're such a good teacher!😊🌹 Love Dickens and good quotes! I've read Dickens in both Swedish and English! Greetings from Sweden!🇸🇪 Thanks for proper English subtitles!🙏 Wisdom of the head and wisdom the heart, so true! A minister at my church used to say "the longest distance in the world is that from our head to our heart"!
I’m very grateful for your detailed explanation, I watched this video till the end and I’ve understood everything you said. 👍🏻 I’m from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 I hope that I will elevate my English level with your incredible lessons 😊 and I need advice from you - I understand almost every English video, but when I try to speak ,I forget the structure of the sentences ,the right using of tenses, vocabulary ,I cannot express my thoughts, even I have my notebook, where I wrote many B2-C1 words
Charles Dickens is an artist to have been drawing the pictures not applying the paints but the words. To render the brightness for his narratives he often used the language of not educated people whereas it has turned out to be necessary. It was difficult for me as not native speaker to make out what they had spoken.
Started to watch this video just to give it a thumb up, but couldn't stop watching it until the end. Thanks. PS. I also wouldn't mind knowing your age. It's okay.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Dear Jill, thank you for your excellent lessons . Nerry Christmas🎄🎅🔔❄ abd Happy new year 2024. The knowledge is so important, anyway. Sincerely Larisa , at the monent my great thought is about your method of teaching that is quite perfect. Thank you.
It's amazing, but I understand your speech and the meaning. why don't I understand other people who speak English as their native language when I watch movies
Ma'am, please clarify whether is it correct to skip k sound in the word ask or asking while reciting this word in a sentence, for example, I asked your feedback. I'm asking your suggestion. In these above two sentences, is it correct to skip k pronounciation, like it's a...sing instead of asking.
Lols. I too want to know how old you are, I’ve even thought about asking in the comments, but then I’m like… “NO.” I then think, “What benefits does that information give me?” And because it’s just not something we do in our society so I don’t say anything.
