Where's all the spectators? At the :27 mark the hill behind the front straight/turn 1 is empty. It used to be a sea of people (me being one of them, if we were later than our "normal" arrival @ 8:00AM to claim our spot on the jump).
They all left. Wasn’t many to begin with but the delays pissed people off and they were leaving in droves. I was there (will be my last time too), racing didn’t begin until 3:02 in the afternoon- ridiculous. They’d do ten minutes of racing, 45 mins of track prep and it was like that all day long, even between practice/qualifying. They claim rain was the reason, but there was no rain at the track- no puddles and it was dusty all day. We left at 5:00 and the first main hadn’t even finished. PMC is a joke these days. The glory days are in the past. To top it off, charging $40 admission is insulting for the MAYBE 45 mins of actual racing. Watch it in tv people. This place is failing fast.
As usual you put greedy people in charge of anything and all they do is screw it up .... Used to go to this and the Springfield mile every year ..... Not anymore.
How lame, the announcers are apparently not allowed to mention the make of bikes being ridden. "The No. 3 bike", etc. That's so stupid. Fans like to root for the brands they like, and the competition between the various brands is just as intense as that between the riders.
Bauman's win was insane at 8+ seconds. This coverage in FLAT TRACK racing at AFT is always top shelf, but very cool this year.
