This is one thing I dislike about Harley. That bike should have come from the factory with a 2 into 1, low, so the right saddlebag could match the left one in the first place.

I rode my 22 street bob hone from the dealership and immediately swapped the exhaust and flashed a new map. The sound of a real exhaust and a better tune puts a smile on my face not a warranty.
Should have unplugged the o2 sensors twisting them while still in the pipe is how the wiring gets messed up, that way you can thread them into the new system off the bike and tighten/plug them in once the pipe is mounted. Makes life more simple.
I had a discussion with someone who used to work for corporate. They said the amount of red tape from the EPA and other countries is overwhelming. They spent a ton in legal fees fighting in courts to no avail. There are multiple legal reasons why they do things they do. In order to be able to sell they now have to follow very strict rules. He said don't be surprised if you see some states try to ban the gas powered motorcycle altogether in coming years. Washington already passed laws pushing to switch to electric vehicles by 2030. California and Oregon have bills in legislature currently. Then gas powered motorcycles are next while India and China goes bonkers polluting the world. Just research air pollution in those countries but we are going to suffer for it. If you weren't aware, many of the politicians of a certain party have invested in companies that make electric vehicles and especially the supplies of raw materials.

San Francisco Harley builds brand new Low Rider S models all the time with 2 into 1 S&S exhaust , there is one in their showroom right now. It is the tuner that will get you into trouble.

I don't have the volume up. I'm sitting on the couch but I'm pretty sure as long as you use the SE tuner you didn't void the warranty. Maybe it's a newer thing? I know it's was that way but it's been changed.
I run a RR3 on my 21 FXLRS here in the UK, you’re right, it really brings it to life, plus it’s a total head turner. Not sold on a 22 ST yet, but I wanna go bags and FXRT so it might be a worth while investment, time will tell!!
I’m torn on this myself. I just bought a FXLRST and blew the motor right after leaving the dealer. Less then 15 miles on it. Now I’m stuck with this bike. I usually don’t care about a warranty but now I think I should run the new motor for a year or so under warranty. I’ve had multiple Harley’s from Evos to twin cams and never had this issue.
Did it wet sump…. I had a 19 RG that I put a thundermax in right after I bought it and voided my warranty… right after that it wet sumped and burned up my motor… I’ve been gun shy ever since at voiding the warranty
Nothing new seen one of the first twin cam 99 ultra engines developed a knock within 50 miles. Fortunately all stock at the dealership so we replaced the engine. Also found a 03 v rod engine with a leaky head gasket. Found the factory drove a valve adjustment shim or pill into the head with the head bolt. HD opted to just replace the head and hardware on this one.
After almost a month Harley has gotten back to me and said they found the cylinders were bored too big and that caused the scoring. They are replacing the top end and I’m looking at possibly another 5-6 weeks or more just for shipping the cylinders.

I really want this bike. .but the more I think about this thing the more I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it. It only really covers major engine failures basically, which of course is great if you needed but even simple things like this void your warranty. Even completing your first oil change yourself voids the warranty and they want $515 to complete that…..
@@rileyhebert6254 Exhaust will not void the warranty unless it's what caused the damage. The tuner on the otherhand will get your bike flagged. Completing the first service will not void it either you just have to prove that it was done according to the service manual.

I have the exact same bike in grey color~ The stock exhaust SUCKS! However, HD quoted me almost 3k and they specifically told me that if I don't use a Harley tuner it will void my factory warranty? :( Not sure if this is a sales tactic or good advice~

My local NW Washington Harley shop voided a new bike warrantee because owner mounted H-D flag too bike! I was amazed, an laughed in their face, when shop started talking, negative wind resistance effects on motorcycle due too flag mounting?
So you voided warranty why? You can use SE Pro Street tuner still limits top speed to 120 mph but there is a work around without voiding warranty. Also S&S Superstreet has 2-1 pipe that doesn’t void warranty. But maybe you have bigger plans
@@rileyhebert6254 I’m not a fan of the HD epa compliant tuner either but it has done the job. In addition to it and the S&S pipe like you I did a cam. The SE-498. It made 116 HP. That was back in 2019 so I’m past warranty now and never had an issue but I know of a guy locally that was not so lucky and had to pay for a rebuild. But it was an early M8 that sumpted.
@@RB-tx4mn Nope. The work around was only referring to limiting speed and not through swapping in and out tuners. As stated on my last post if I wasn’t clear I used only the HD SE Pro Street tuner. The dealership tech / dyno tuner did use a 117ci map though to help get more fuel for my 114ci stage 3 build. And this helped to get the 116HP while keeping the AFR on point and in friendly EPA compliant zone.

Maybe it needs a stage 2 cam to pair with it for it to really sound right? Maybe the motor needs to have a load on it, or the throttle needs opened more? But from the short sound you gave us, the sound is just not appealing to me. Then again, maybe in person it's just different than over a video. Idk. the reason i went bassani is because i ran it on my Dyna and just loved the look and sound and when i mentioned it to fuel moto they didnt even try to sell me on their own pipe which obviously i appreciate. Thanks for the support!
Pipes are one thing, but by law Harley has to follow EPA guidelines, The moment you change the tune to a 3rd party is going to get your bike flagged and yuor warranty is toast.

Stage 1 does NOT affect warranty in any way. Literally just talked to my dealer about this.
Just have to use a Harley approved tuner and you’re good. I was told as long as I don’t touch the internals they don’t void the warranty.

Correct I was told S&S and vance hines will not void you warranty because they are backedand sold by Harley

For the bag mount bracket, did you have to take the round part of the OEM bracket and put it on the bracket that came with the pipes?
Did you get full header heat shields in the box? Looks like they are not installed?
How fast were you going into a right turn when you scratched the front right peg mount?

sounds like what happened is very rare and could have just been a batch of bad luck. I also would be hesitant though.

It did come with heat shields yes I just don’t run them and no need for spacers on the foot peg mount they were able to stay right where they were

yes sir made a bag bracket myself. Flat stock steel two 3/8ths holes 1 inch and 3/8ths apart center to center

The flash does void the warranty correct unless you go with a screaming eagle one. But I did not wait no I only had 125 miles on it when I tuned it

Harley uses an extreme amount of their very aggressive lock tite. Try heating it up with a torch
