As a Bills fan I think it’s on McDermott. The only good run game Buffalo every had under him was 2017 with borderline HOFer LeSean McCoy and a Bills team that had relied on him the previous two seasons. Since then, the Bills have drafted an offensive lineman in the first two rounds of the draft only twice. One of which turned out to be a complete bust taken in round 2, the other is currently a rookie as another 2nd round pick. Buffalo has consistently had one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL for a while and McD doesn’t seem to care. Even under Daboll they didn’t try to run the ball every game. Good offenses like the Chiefs make a point to run the ball at least 20 times a game. The Bills do half that on a good night, and now they don’t even let their quarterback run. But at least McD has good defenses right? Nope! In their last 3 playoff losses combined, Buffalo has forced a total of 5 punts and 0 turnovers while allowing over 1400 yards and 107 points. That is straight atrocious. McD does not know how situational play calling in close games. We’ve seen it a million times over the years, Texans wildcard, 13 seconds, going 0-5 on one score games in 2021, and most choking away the Broncos last week with a horrible blitz call twice in a row and 12 men. I am officially in favor of a full coaching staff clean out. This team has the talent. Allen is great (we’ve seen what he can do under the right system) and the receivers and O-line this year are better than people give them credit for. McD simply doesn’t understand the nuances of the offense which I can understand as a new defensive-minded head coach but he’s been here for 6 years now. You have to understand what your team is doing bro. He’s a good coach for the locker room, but he’s not great for either side of the ball. I’d love to see the Bills miss the playoffs so there’s a reason to fire him and then hopefully hire the Lion OC because I really like that guy’s philosophy. McD did a great job taking this team as far as he has, but it looks like he’s peaked. Maybe at some point in the future he can figure it out and have more success with another team.

Legit i remember when Bills fans were like “cant wait to see you kansas city in the Conference championship ☺️” then the bengals came and closed their window
The Ken Dorsey firing is frustrating, especially considering there was no real fall off in offensive production from year to year, and if you want to point to Allen TOs, that’s been a problem since the beginning. The defensive injuries have plagued this team for years, and through 10 weeks, it’s really hampered this team. I still believe they figure it out down the stretch and make the playoffs, but it’ll be difficult. McDermott needs to go, and I don’t think that’s a wild take. 12 men on the field, that’s his problem, not Dorsey’s. Not to say the play calling has been amazing, by any means, but having a players only meeting a short week ago, I don’t think that was because of Dorsey. One possession game losses for 4 years straight shouldn’t fall on an OC, especially this short tenured. Not in a million years.
I don't think it's fair to fire McDermott yet. Remember what this team was like for 25 years before he showed up? The NFL really does reward patience with a head coach. Most organizations would have fired the likes of Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh by now, but those organizations are better for keeping them.
As a Chiefs fan, I really hope they figure it out. Bills and Bengals games are some of my favorites in a season. Josh Allen hasn't looked the same since Brian Daboll left, and the Bengals are making Joe Burrow into Andrew Luck 2.0. The AFC is stacked with talent, so there's plenty of good games to still be had, but still sucks. Off topic, but I wonder why the Chiefs aren't getting criticized as well? I haven't been particularly impressed with them this year. I know they don't have a true receiver opposite Travis Kelce (Rashee Rice is good, but not #1 material yet), but I didn't expect it to cause them this much trouble, going off of last year. Seems like they're definitely feeling the absence of Eric Bienemy. Maybe it's also that this is a defensive year, especially considering stats for many top QBs are down, but idk.
Most offenses have been shaky this year, but the Chiefs are downright horrible when Kelce can’t get open. It would be interesting if they tried running the ball a lot more. The Eagles defense hasn’t exactly been great this year so hopefully we’ll get to see some classic Chiefs offense in that game. If even that game becomes a defensive battle I would be very worried about the playoffs.
Bienemy doesn't have anything to do with play calling... Its all Andy, OCs in chiefs just work with players during practice and relay info between hc and qb. We're missing a good wr like juju. We need a solid possible free agent wr
@Babylonian-Cowboy their offense really hasn’t been that great, especially in the second halves of games. When teams get carried by their defenses into the playoffs, it almost never ends well unless you have an all time great defense like the 02 Ravens or something. KC’s defense is good but not that good. Plus they have a couple injuries if I’m not mistaken. But every other AFC contender seems to be riddled with injuries as well this season except for the Jags who look like a worse version of the Chiefs.
Josh should atleast get one with the Bills. They may have to rebuild soon but the failure the past few seasons is not all on him. The first year the team wasn’t ready. We knew they weren’t ready to play KC and they lost in the AFC championship, fine you’ll be ready next season. Next season they had it and everything clicked until the last drive. I have never understood the point of Prevent Defense. Have never understood it and playing prevent lost them that game. If you played tight man to man or even zone you probably would’ve won that game and possibly would have made it to the Super Bowl. The year after the injuries got the best of them at the wrong time. The defense was picked apart by Joe Burrow and there was nothing they could do to stop it. This year has been both sides of the ball. The defense getting hurt again and the offense having turnover issues and odd play calling. You had James Cook doing well on the ground yet you were passing more than 80% of the time and were still using Josh Allen has your run game more than Cook. Buffalo needs an OC that will give Allen a run game and they need to stay healthy on defense and get younger. Pryor and Hyde will need to be replaced and Miller is only going to regress. Another CB to compliment White will definitely help. Elam doesn’t look like he can provide that
A really good friend of mine is a diehard Bills fan- and to see what this season has done to his faith in this team has been staggering. I don't even expect him to watch the game today- which is sad, because this is when the Bills need the Mafia the most. I really hope Josh and the Bills get it together, they're one of the funnest teams to watch in years- but the Bills Curse (and Madden Curse) for that matter may unfortunately be alive and well. I'm sending all my love and support to Buffalo 🙏, come on, LETS GO BUFFALO!! 🦬 - A Cowboys Fan
It’s ultimately failure to properly address weaknesses 1.) Signed an aging veteran, Von Miller, to help the pass rush….he ends up tearing ACL 2.) Never truly established a run game since Shady Mccoy. 3.) Did not give Josh Allen an offensive coaching staff who could help him with turn overs. 4.) Still can’t win one possession games 5.) Poor draft picks, only recently we have hit in Kincaid. 6.) And we just can’t stay healthy on defense, not really anyone’s fault, but every year a big name on defense gets a season ending injury
13 seconds was what broke them. Just like the Texans blew a 21-0 lead that ended up being destroyed by 20+ points. The Texans seem finally gotten it back together I hope the Bills able to do that.
it's a weird conversation, its obvious what went wrong but its difficult to make a clear diagnosis. to put it plain the failure was in hiring Sean Mcdermott. that's not to say Sean isn't a good coach or that there's inherently something wrong with hiring a DC but there is a ceiling. the difficult thing is that the system is wrong, it's so rooted in zone. that's even difficult to say because most teams are overusing zone and cover 2 and 3 hybrids. but its inherently vulnerable to the point that even saying this defensive unit the last 3 years when healthy are the peak of this scheme results wise, and on any given you can randomly catch this same unit lacking for 30+. i'm a firm believer even most zone oriented coordinators have won their titles when they rely on their players in man. the fact that you have to bring in the type of off man scheme specific personnel in the secondary to run it is the primary issue. idk that tre white is still in the league in a different scheme, but his skillset is absolutely necessary to run this one effectively and when you start drafted less talented similar archetypes. the issue exacerbates itself if you isolate these types of players in space because you force specific personnel groups out on the field when you spread this defense out. when ideally you kinda wanna keep it in dime. that combined with the fact that its a press man league but the risk involved with this teams personnel is that if they miss the press they're not traditionally athletic enough to recover. yes certain players on the team Dane Jackson for one, his skillset is more ideal, but then i can not only find a mismatch for him but his own scheme doesn't flex his best traits consistently, with Frazier they lacked aggression with McDermott they're better BUT now they're unhealthy and they have to pay dudes they didn't pay. overall tho, they make make things too difficult for themselves too often. they've a very easy matchup for both Mahomes and burrow, they literally stand no chance against a majority of the top 10-12 QB's. they're consistently picked apart when it matters.
At least the players get paid millions to disappoint. The fans, however, after decades of investment, are biggest losers. I lived through the early 90’s. And just like the Sabres, it’s DEVASTATING to be a sports fan in Buffalo.
Kinda funny , Tyreek Hill didn't get flagged for pointing at the defense when he ran in , just last week Josh Allen got flagged for that during the Broncos game 🤔 No team can beat the Refs the NFLs #1 team
That game against the Broncos was absolutely appalling if you're a Bills fan. Talk about playing down to the (bad) competition. Even if these guys somehow sneak into the playoffs as a wildcard they're going to get smoked badly in the first round.
Buffalo has been choking since the 90’s. Funny just how delusional bills fans are for thinking that their interception king of a QB and crybaby diggs can win them a ring. Hope I never witness a bills super bowl win
As a bills fan I can say it’s that they’re scared to mess up in close games, they over think and mess up. They don’t perform consistently and we lose games that we shouldn’t lose because we play “conservative football”. I miss those games where the bills would score touchdowns left and right like if it was nothing. They thought their offense was good as is and instead of investing more into it they didn’t. Especially the run game. I wish we would’ve gotten CMC or Henry. Cooks is doing good but he needs to live up to his potential. Diggs is good but he needs another consistent receiver to get him open. Gabe is great when he is but he is bad when he is bad. Kincaid is saving us thankfully but he’s a tight end that’s basically another receiver but we need another receiver. We just keep underperforming
I know you guys are gonna try to lose the division lead down the stretch but I really need you to win it so McDermott can be fired. Don’t screw this up!
You skipped over the mysterious men in black windbreakers overturning a TD in the Houston game. Which has still never happened before or since and has never been explained.
Andy Reid’s Chiefs were consistent contenders in the 2010’s and didn’t make it over the hump until 2019. There was a reason “Going Full Andy Reid” was a joke in the community. Years of playoff exits for a stacked team. Buffalo will have their shot.
personnel. it was not hard to predict the way 2023 was going to happen. It felt all off season that each other AFC team had gotten better in terms of talent acquisition while the bills did not. coaching, last non-offensive coach to win superbowl was harbaugh, not counting Brady/belechik. In today's NFL need someone with at least some scheme creativity. cap situation: can't invest in personnel if most of the cap is tied to QB/WR.
Playing in Buffalo in general has a lot of pressure. A city that hasn’t won a championship before between the Bills and the Sabres but they should’ve been a lot better than this…
The 2019-present Buffalo Bills are basically the 2011-2014 Detroit Tigers of the NFL. Championship contenders who continually fail to get over the hump
If you're a colts fan you know whats up. I think Allen still has what it takes but we need a restructure of major positions. We have plenty of talent but some of our guys are older now and we need fresh talent. Josh Allen has plenty of time to get a ring and i hope he does.
Losing to the Broncos in the worst possible way. Being 15.5 point favourites over the Giants and barely winning. Losing to the Jaguars in London. Losing to the Jets in week 1 against Zach Wilson. This team has looked awful.

@@Shigzmi The Jaguars are the London team. As they are essentially guaranteed a home game every year there, they are going to have a bigger home field advantage than any other team that plays there. There's a reason why there have long been rumors of the Jaguars moving to London full-time. And the Bills really have been hobbled by injuries, mainly to their defensive core. In addition to losing Tre'Davious White, who might be forced to retire after the season due to his injuries, they had significant injuries as a result of the Tottenham turf in that said Jaguars game, which is why they struggled against the Giants. @@Shigzmi You clearly have no concept of how football works. You can't just say "play better" and a team magically goes 17-0 because you told them to play better. There's a reason why the term "any given Sunday" exists. A good team can play bad. A bad team can play well. Upsets and off days happen all the time and teams can beat spreads. If the so-called good teams won all the time, it would be boring. Also, I am not defending the Bills. I'm only stating things how they are. Also, I noticed you basically implied the Jaguars were trash because the Bills lost to them. The Jaguars are 6-3 and leading their division.

His stats are still there just a few more turnovers but that is what happens when your losing more games than you should. I expect him still to be around 4,300 yards and 34 TD's and over 10 TD's rushing. He needs to hold on to the ball at times and take sacks rather than making risky throws.

@@tyleryeranian857 The numbers and production are the exact same with and without Daboll… that’s the point. There also aren’t 3 QBs better than Allen year in and year out
Those 13 seconds broke the Bills. Josh literally handed the game to Vikings last year. They just don't have the confidence or dominance anymore.
Legit i remember when Bills fans were like “cant wait to see you kansas city in the Conference championship ☺️” then the bengals came and closed their window
Josh Allen choked again in typical Buffalo Bills fashion.
You talk about defensive injuries and yet the backup defenders mostly prevented the broncos from scoring touchdowns on all those turnovers
@Babylonian-Cowboyhe falsely gets the credit, thats on media/fans. The team itself isn’t great and even then Allen isn’t flawless.
I don't think it's fair to fire McDermott yet. Remember what this team was like for 25 years before he showed up? The NFL really does reward patience with a head coach. Most organizations would have fired the likes of Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh by now, but those organizations are better for keeping them.
What’s funny is Hamlin was the 12th man on the field
Really?
@@pairashootpants5373No. He wasn’t even on the field.
@@Evanrholloway it would've been pretty funny
They did it again
@Babylonian-Cowboy Baltimore are the only team left that can challenge KC now.
@@mytwosense9135Houston too
I honestly don’t really trust Baltimore
I don’t think Lamar is good enough at Q
Elam doesn’t look like he can provide that
Don’t expect them to rebuild for the fact their new stadium plans is coming soon before they are ready to win.

At least Buffalo got to 4 Superbowls. There are still some teams that haven’t even gotten there yet.
It’s ultimately failure to properly address weaknesses
1.) Signed an aging veteran, Von Miller, to help the pass rush….he ends up tearing ACL
2.) Never truly established a run game since Shady Mccoy.
3.) Did not give Josh Allen an offensive coaching staff who could help him with turn overs.
4.) Still can’t win one possession games
5.) Poor draft picks, only recently we have hit in Kincaid.
6.) And we just can’t stay healthy on defense, not really anyone’s fault, but every year a big name on defense gets a season ending injury
The real reason is the Bills can't defeat Patrick Holmes & the Kansas City Chiefs. Choked.
they didn't just become one, they always were, I LIVE in WNY!!!!! heh heh
13 seconds was what broke them. Just like the Texans blew a 21-0 lead that ended up being destroyed by 20+ points.
The Texans seem finally gotten it back together I hope the Bills able to do that.
I truly think the 13 second blunder took the teams mojo away. They haven't been the same since.
it's a weird conversation, its obvious what went wrong but its difficult to make a clear diagnosis. to put it plain the failure was in hiring Sean Mcdermott. that's not to say Sean isn't a good coach or that there's inherently something wrong with hiring a DC but there is a ceiling. the difficult thing is that the system is wrong, it's so rooted in zone. that's even difficult to say because most teams are overusing zone and cover 2 and 3 hybrids. but its inherently vulnerable to the point that even saying this defensive unit the last 3 years when healthy are the peak of this scheme results wise, and on any given you can randomly catch this same unit lacking for 30+. i'm a firm believer even most zone oriented coordinators have won their titles when they rely on their players in man. the fact that you have to bring in the type of off man scheme specific personnel in the secondary to run it is the primary issue. idk that tre white is still in the league in a different scheme, but his skillset is absolutely necessary to run this one effectively and when you start drafted less talented similar archetypes. the issue exacerbates itself if you isolate these types of players in space because you force specific personnel groups out on the field when you spread this defense out. when ideally you kinda wanna keep it in dime. that combined with the fact that its a press man league but the risk involved with this teams personnel is that if they miss the press they're not traditionally athletic enough to recover. yes certain players on the team Dane Jackson for one, his skillset is more ideal, but then i can not only find a mismatch for him but his own scheme doesn't flex his best traits consistently, with Frazier they lacked aggression with McDermott they're better BUT now they're unhealthy and they have to pay dudes they didn't pay. overall tho, they make make things too difficult for themselves too often. they've a very easy matchup for both Mahomes and burrow, they literally stand no chance against a majority of the top 10-12 QB's. they're consistently picked apart when it matters.
Reminds me of Jim Kelly and the 90's Bills. Could get there, just couldn't do anything with it.
I'm still waiting for the 90s Bills to get featured in a Secret Base "Collapse" video. No team deserves it more.
Bills just living up to their history
At least the players get paid millions to disappoint. The fans, however, after decades of investment, are biggest losers. I lived through the early 90’s. And just like the Sabres, it’s DEVASTATING to be a sports fan in Buffalo.
11:32 Damar Hamlin was the 12th guy in the field
He wasn’t, someone just made that up for a meme
When I count he's the third guy on the field, and another guy is 12th
Kinda funny , Tyreek Hill didn't get flagged for pointing at the defense when he ran in , just last week Josh Allen got flagged for that during the Broncos game 🤔 No team can beat the Refs the NFLs #1 team
That game against the Broncos was absolutely appalling if you're a Bills fan. Talk about playing down to the (bad) competition. Even if these guys somehow sneak into the playoffs as a wildcard they're going to get smoked badly in the first round.
I think the Bengals make a better argument as far as disappointment this year.
Gotta love the Madden curse
This Bills team is reminding me of my 2019 Broncos where we could've been 11-5 hadn't we loss by 3 field goals and a Vikings comeback...
Josh got that cam newton fall off energy
As a Miami Dolphins fan seeing the Bills fall apart and struggle excites me to no end.
Good for you. At least you have a ring

In today's NFL need someone with at least some scheme creativity. cap situation: can't invest in personnel if most of the cap is tied to QB/WR.
they just dont have there hearts in the game, especially hamlin
Playing in Buffalo in general has a lot of pressure. A city that hasn’t won a championship before between the Bills and the Sabres but they should’ve been a lot better than this…
The 2019-present Buffalo Bills are basically the 2011-2014 Detroit Tigers of the NFL.
Championship contenders who continually fail to get over the hump
Their expectations went up after their surprised 2020 afc title
If you're a colts fan you know whats up. I think Allen still has what it takes but we need a restructure of major positions. We have plenty of talent but some of our guys are older now and we need fresh talent. Josh Allen has plenty of time to get a ring and i hope he does.
Never doubt the Cigarette Smoking Man’s power…
Losing to the Broncos in the worst possible way. Being 15.5 point favourites over the Giants and barely winning. Losing to the Jaguars in London. Losing to the Jets in week 1 against Zach Wilson. This team has looked awful.
The Bills had a lot of injuries before that Giants game while the Jaguars game was pretty much a home game for the Jags. I'd forgive those two.
@@sirstewartwallace3917bs, stop giving excuses. So what if they jags game was a “home” game, they still lost its not like the jags are some super team in london. Also every defense is injured, and even the giants at the time are injured. I wouldn’t forgive those two loses because they’re embarrassing.
You aren't going to be 100% if you have to play your backups on short notice.
@@sirstewartwallace3917 you’re just making excuses for a team that should be playing better, the giants are absolute trash and had a close game with an “injured” bills team. So what if their defense is plagued with injuries, teams overcome adversity all the time and bills cant

If you ask me, the fact that the Bills didn't win the divisional vs the Bengals last year is pretty solid evidence that the NFL isn't scripted. If any game would be scripted to make a narrative, that would definitely be the one
I agree, but the notion that the NFL is scripting games is absurd on its face, so we really don't need any evidence to confirm it's not scripted.

Good video but you missed a huge opportunity here. I’m sure you’re too young to remember this but the Bills lost 4 straight superbowls at the beginning of the ‘90.
