  • For decades, the North End was a world apart, an isolated enclave whose streets felt more like a town in Italy than a neighborhood in Boston. But now, thanks to the end of the Big Dig construction, and the push of gentrification, the old North End may soon be an old memory.

These are iconic places and should be protected by law. What does a twenty year old know anything about. Legislations should do something about this. I live in Bklyn I walk the nieghborhood and if I didn't know street names I would not recognize my community. Bklyn is very expensive.

Today the West End would be another neighborhood facing gentrification pressures had Jerome Rappaport and the BRA not obliterated it for Charles River Park.
