What this interview failed to address is the difference between the various Latino blocks. Cubans, Venezuelans, Dominicans, Puertorricans, Mexicans do not vote the same. Their histories and relations with dictators, communism, racism, crime, poverty can be very different and unique and that is reflected in their priorities and eventually in their voting decisions and beliefs. To assume that all Latinos will and must support the Democrats is foolish. The Dems may actually represent the opposite of what a Latino block wants. Clear example is the Cubans who reject any hint of leftism after the Castro debacle.

She's a white washed lati-gringa that has no idea how Latin America works. All her concepts of being Latino are from American sociology courses in some urban college. She's the reason Latinos and Black men are sick and tired of wokeness and mainstream liberalism. It's disgusting at this point.
The White passing Latinos think they are better than their darker skin fellow Latinos. They want to take advantage of White privilege that we know exist.
In order to have a healthy democracy, we must have an educated, informed and critical thinking voters. This is the primary reason why republicans defund our education system and project 2025 plan to eliminate education department.😢.
My very wise father always said that Mexican Americans didn't progress because the ones who reached the top stepped on the ones below, instead of offering their hands to pull them up.
A lot of white and black Americans tend to put latinos in one racial category, without realizing there are black, brown and white latinos, and sometimes a mix of all three. There is also lots of racism and xenophobia within the Latino community, with white or even brown Latinos being extremely racist against black Latinos. I currently live in Colombia and many Colombians are extremely xenophobic against Venezuelans, just as bad (or worse) as Trumpers are against Latino immigrants in general. Considering how a significant percentage of people in Latin American countries easily give in to machismo culture, and they are often extremely religious (catholic) and ultraconservative, on top of the fact that racism and xenophobia are quite normal in Latin America (sometimes even worse than in the US), I’m not surprised at all that so many Latinos in the US (and in Latin America too) passionately support a “strongman” like Trump.
@@bebo2781 what a bunch of BS. All countries have their own share of macho culture. And stop that thing about being “Latino”. We are hispanoamericanos, learn your history.

The one thing that unites and is common among all these various groups that support Trump is their hatred for other groups who they see as different to them.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Great interview and praise to Paola for bringing this issue to the spotlight.More needs to be said on the topic of the internal racism in our Latino communities.
That is the number 1 problem in United state. They don’t now what they are only the color of their skins. 90% of European descent are mix way before they enter to this continent. Now centro America and sur America have the same problem they don’t now what they are.
@@Beatlearl no one contends that culture and race are not synonymous, but my point was that ethnicity, which denotes a cultural group, is not a racial group. I think that’s where the confusion lies. So you’re not wrong, but I think the race/ethnicity conflation is what confuses people the most.

Sadly, this is not shocking. As a Latino, it cannot be overstated how deeply ingrained racism is in the psyche of many Latinos. You combine the history of colonialism, the generational distance between younger Latino Americans and their migrant ancestors who more directly experienced American xenophobia, and a sense of cultural machismo and it’s sadly not shocking that a large segment of Latino Americans have gravitated towards the far right fringes of the American body politic.
k, I had a cuban teacher who spoke at length about what she and her family went through to come to the US. Under trump, they would not be accepted. They would have been sent back to their country to die as traitors. Is it that latinos are more comfortable under a dictatorship and that is why they lean right? It is a mistake leading only to the same thing that you fled your country for.
As a Latino, you shouldn't be surprised there are tons of extremely Christian Right Wing Latinos. Latinos are often misinterpreted as ALL being "Natives" or the oppressed populace that European conquistadors put underneath their big, shiny black boots since the late 1400s, when they first landed on islands in the Western Hemisphere. But, in reality, you have "Latinos" descended from the most extremely & fascist Right Wing Portuguese, Spaniards, Italians, Germans, French, Dutch, and English people... from the US, to Cuba, to Central America, all the way to Argentina and Brazil... The BULK of the most racist Nazis and Fascists from Europe ESCAPED to the Northern & Southern Hemispheres, in the Americas, from WW1 to post-WW2. They also are in Australia and New Zealand... South Africa and the rest of Africa, in the open and in highly armed military compounded neighborhoods... Nick Fuentes, Enrique Tarrio, the Castro brothers, the Ortega brothers, 99.9% of the autocrats from Mexico through Central America, to all of South America... THESE ARE DESCENDED from Right Wing, Christian Fascists and Nazis.... from EUROPE. These Right Wing "Latinos" (many in the various KKK, Nazi/Neo Nazi and Fascist groups) are opposed to Communists... opposed to Socialists ... opposed to Progressives.... opposed to Feminists ... opposed to non-Christians... opposed to Natives... opposed to Asians... opposed to Blacks, and ESPECIALLY OPPOSED TO Jews.... opposed to Liberals & Liberalism & WESTERN LIBERAL DEMOCRACY... opposed to multi-culturalism & 21st century diversity (outside of Right Wring European traditions and beliefs and practices).... although TODAY they accept a few small percentages of psychologically, ideologically twisted Blacks, Asians, women et al who AGREE WITH THEM, that society was better in the early 1900s, the 1800s, the 1700s, etc.....twisted Blacks and Asians like Clarence Thomas and that Black Nazi guy running for governor of North Carolina, who also wouldn't mind owning a few Blacks slaves, today, if Slavery were to return...

Also we like money and be successful ( we don’t have victim mentality) so we want a great economy and yes we are very family oriented and conservative. That’s something we don’t see in the Democratic Party because they are Extremely liberal. So don’t lose your time thinking is about color of skin at all 😂
It is about skin color all day every day everywhere. In the Americas it certainly is as your conquistadors the Portuguese and Spanish and our colonizers in North America the British ensured that there was a caste system with white people regardless of intellect being on top. If anything it is more about color in Latin America as there are no people of color but a few in any positions of power and influence.
Ugh 😑 so deeply depressing. The part that gets me the most is the Anti Black racism. As a Jamaican immigrant with family in south Florida I’ve heard of the treatment of black immigrants by the Cuban community there.
I am Black American but very racially ambiguous due to my mother being Creole from Louisiana and Gullah from South Carolina. My father is Cuban/Puerto Rican. Latinos are racist. There I said it. I’m sure that’s going to make all the difference to trump and his allies regarding what they have planned in their project 2025 manifesto for Latinos & Hispanics which will be 20 times worse than what & how he treated Latinos & Hispanics when he was president the first time and what he has said since.
I am also surprised that the comments fail to address the huge and critical differences between different Latino blocks. The Mexicans in Houston have little in common with the Cubans in Miami or the Dominicans in The Bronx. Seems that the assumption here is that all Latinos are essentially the same and thus, they should all vote for the Democrats. That's exactly why they are losing the Latino vote. I think they dynamic in the Americas is different. Because Latinos in the US are willful immigrants and hold traditional Christian values, they more readily assume American conservative ideology, With Ireland(and correct me if I'm wrong) there is a strong identity due to subjugation by the British. My best mate is from Northern Ireland and his earliest memories were of the British military raiding his family farm looking for IRA weapons caches. A much more tenable explanation for them turning far right is their education level. It is perhaps lower. There’s been countless published social science that confirms the causation of education levels to the political identity of a person. The higher the education level, the more likely they vote blue. When they survey the group with masters the numbers lean more liberal and the group with PhD, there were hardly any who vote red. This is perhaps why you don’t see Asian Americans and first generation Africans in America who tend to be more highly educated leaning right.
@@jdotsalter910Your theory doesn’t hold because African Americans are even more religious Christians. Latinos are turning far right because the tendency to vote liberal correlates to education level. However, I couldn't help laughing when they also admitted that when they lived in Paris, french people did not think of them as white.

But the lie gets repeated and repeated and folks come to believe that the lie is the truth. Sometimes lies are uttered on purpose as Vance himself confirmed during a media interview. It’s wild to me because there is a strong distaste for Catholicism in the evangelical world in which I grew up, and the white evangelicals I grew up around viewed it as a cult, yet many Latino immigrants are now replenishing the numbers of white evangelicals since they are used to coming from countries where the church is interwoven with the state. I cannot speak to the experience of those from countries with conflict and I understand that there may be legitimate reasons to dislike Democrats, but it still seems so disingenuous that the community in which I grew up, which contains people who have directly expressed fear to me of white people becoming the minority, are now suddenly accepting of a community they actively disliked for years. It’s hypocrisy at its finest.

Hola Hector. Respectfully. What heritage are you referring to? The Spanish (from Spain) heritage? The roots of a Argentinian, Peruvian, Cuban or Mexican, do you think are the same? Did they go through the same struggles including racial blending and slavery? After more than 500 years of the Spanish foundation, don't you think the differences are too many to see the Latinos as one monolithic block? A block that should think and vote one way?
Great Interview!! I'll definitely pick-up Paola Ramos' book on Audible or Kindle. Coming from a Puerto Rican, Evanglical, and Afro Latino back ground, Paola details exactly what a lot of my family are thinking when they vote MAGA. Internalized (and externalized) racism, an "us versus them" mentality, and listening to their pastors before listening to scientists/doctors. I've seen and experienced it all. Can't wait to dive into her book at this pivital time. It may even help me change some minds 29 days before the election.
Hi Carlos. It can get complicated and goes beyond politics. If you and your relatives are Evangelical you will need to address the fact that the Dems support abortion (extreme in some cases), LGBTQ causes, reduced control by parents on children's upbringing, sex changing surgeries in children, lesser safety with weaker law enforcement. Some of these issues are strongly against Christian values and beliefs. In this case a vote for Trump is not a vote for MAGA, but a vote for a more "conservative" style of government. Not every Trump voter is a MAGA cultist, many are just voting against liberalism and a weak Biden-Harris/Walz ticket.

Trying to put Latinos in a box and telling them how to vote based on race is so racist itself. People make their own decision looking at different issues that are important for them.
No disrespect intended, but your use of the word racist is inaccurate here. As an African-American, I'm really surprised and disappointed by the rightward drift of some Latinos. I can completely understand thinking for oneself...I think that's the hallmark of a strong democracy. It mystifies me to hear folks talking like this is any old kind of election when there's a person on the ballot who tried to engineer a coup and who continues to spread disinformation about our election system despite multiple court defeats. Moreover, I was appalled by Trump's characterization of migrants from Mexico and other central American countries. I was similarly appalled by his and Vance's shameful mischaracterization of Haitian migrants. To my eyes and ears, Trump has done so much that is disqualifying. I do understand that many are concerned with the cost of living...my understanding is that much of this really isn't under the control of the president. There really are many positive economic indicators and there's no question that the Biden/Harris and hopefully Harris/Walz administrations are more forward-looking. I researched the Trump 2024 platform...and it is highly concerning, but hardly fleshed out. As Trump's debate with Harris revealed, his tactic is to complain, but to present no substantive solutions (ACA/Obamacare). He's artfully tried to dodge any association with Project 2025---but we clearly saw attempts to weaken our critical agencies during his first term such as the EPA. It is my deepest prayer that American voters deny Trump/Vance the opportunity to hold the reins of federal power.
@@LA-rv2fr thank you for a very respectful comment but I disagree. Just to make one point about the border and immigration, the Biden/Harris Administration have opened the border and incentivized millions of people to come here risking their life, paying thousand of dollars to the cartels and being trafficked, that is inhumane, there are missing children and other being released into the country without a follow up… all of it for political gain. I’m not emotional or offended for a comment Trump made about “Mexicans”, I am disgusted about the handling of the border by this government . Too much to talk about, unfortunately the country is so divided.
I compliment Paola Ramos on her eloquent, descriptive, nonjudgmental answers to the interviewer's questions. As a third generation, half Italian, I've always retained a pride and loyalty to Italy and other Italians. Why is this not the case for these Latinos? It's quite obvious that Trump's clearly ostensible display of loyalty to Latinos is self-serving and beguiling as demonstrated by his deprecating actions toward them in the past. Why don't Latinos have more nationality loyalty than to be mislead by Trump's very obvious political ploy and hold him accountable for who he really is? In comparing the two candidate's records, it's clear which one offers a more wholesome future for all ethnic groups.
wao...I'm a Democrat and she's completely wrong on this. A lot of Hispanics/Latinos refused to embrace this binary-color culture that America promotes and that to us feels like America is frozen in time of the 1950s. To those of us that come from very diverse societies (because "el mestizaje") it feels weird that America can't move beyond black and white. It surprises me that she fails to acknowledge that. Somehow after 50+ years America can't seem to grow out of the black and white mentality. It will take time before the United States sees itself as a mixed-race nation.
@@imperialmotoring3789 Heels Up Harris is by far the worst candidate to run for president. Shame on the democrat party. This Latino will be voting for TRUMP!
I'm confused, if you are an American citizen, shouldn't you assimilate and BE American? This is a very divisive message. We are our cultures, but we ARE American....we should be united as brothers and sisters. Or else, why are you here?
I can relate to Ramos comments about latino migrants distancing themselves to new migrants or refugees. This phenomenom happens in the Vietnamese community too, even among 1st migrant/refugee generation. What Ramos did not discuss is the strategic Republican labelling of Democrats as communist and socialist. Many latinos who emigrated to the US came from a communist/socialist country like Cuba. They are frightened of such regime, and hence pivot towards Trump. This is a well known reason why the majority of Cubans supports Trump. I find Ramos conflicting herself when she first said younger generation Latinos consider themselves Americans, i.e detaching themselves from their migrant background. But when asked if Harris via too much towards the right on her immigration policy, Ramos said she'd rish losing young Latino voters whose parents/grand parents were migrants who fled a violent regime of their country. What was Ramos' message here?
This is the first time I’ve heard anyone put into words how I perceive the politics of many Hispanics here in Miami.-there is tendency to be anti immigrant (powerful AM radio helps).
Yes. At the end of the day, Hispanics are white people who speak Spanish or Portuguese. They are European descendants just like the American whites. In Miami, mostly the white ones are the ones who made it out of Cuba.
Well there is also the country they immigrated from factor in that population. In Miami there are a lot of Cubans, who are more prone than other Hispanics to being right wingers. The reason is due to many of them escaping Castro, who fought to give more rights to Black and Brown Cubans. And in doing so, took a lot of wealth away from that group (whiter looking Cubans). You ever notice how more of the Cuban Americans are less Black (the ones not in professional baseball)? It's because the poor didn't all come to America, while a lot of fairer skinned Cubans did after getting their wealth taken away. That's compounded with who they're surrounded by in America too and the politics of the majority in the area. There are more right wingers in Florida than areas like California. On the other hand, in Mexico, more poor people tended to immigrate to America. The richer Mexicans still live in Mexico for they had no reason to leave, and the Mexicans that had their wealth taken away by revolutionaries happened in the 1800s to early 1900s. They stayed in Mexico for the time being and didn't have the recency bias of socialism=bad, compared to the Cubans who dealt with Castro in the 1950s. My family is a good example of this. From my mom's side, they are fairer skin and we can trace our ancestry back to the 1700s. This is only possible for people who had more wealth. They had their wealth stolen by revolutionaries in the 1800s and for good reason. They most likely gained that wealth at the expense of the less fortunate. And so they stayed in Mexico, as equally poor for decades until they decided to migrate as farmers picking fruits. Because of that they don't have any bad feelings towards socialism or communism. That negative sentiment died out as it was from 60-80 years ago before they immigrated (they immigrated in the 40s). Hence you see more support for Democrats who do a better job of not scapegoating Mexican American migrants. So Mexican America right wingers (fewer in numbers), tend to choose that due to right wingers pushing christianity as a focal point in campaigns. By invoking abortions, they can capture a large amount of Christian (not Catholic) fundamentalists. Hence why a generic "Latino" voting block doesn't make much sense. There is more nuance and if anything it makes more sense to categorize which hispanics immigrated from where as a voting block.
It depends on the generation or wave. Many from the first wave of Cubans after the Revolution in the 1950s were people with financial resources, prior business experience and academic credentials. They established what today is The Greater Miami and expanded to Tampa etc. The next waves had no money and many were criminals (Marielitos). So, first wave Cubans and their descendants may treat immigrants including poor Cubans, badly.

The first thing Trump thinks about when he meets someone is "you got your job because of the way you look". My struggle to get an education helped me understand who to avoid, and who to follow. As in any group of people, there are many Latinos who do not support the far right.
Great interview and totally agree with her observations and drawn conclusions especially due to class based on skin color shades and the 3rd generations thinking of themselves as true Americans as this was explained in my ESOL class like this: First generation usually came here not as children but as adults, so they often keep their language and traditions and don't really assimilate a lot. The second generation are their children who were bilingual and helped their parents and possibly their grandparents navigate the English language. They had assimilated, but still honored many of their parent's traditions which at times caused friction. For example when I was teaching, a girl's education was felt to not be as important as a boy's, so they missed school more to help out at home, which at times upset my top female students as they had educational goals they wanted to fulfill. The third generation are the children of those parents and were totally assimilated with many not even knowing the language of their grandparents as it was never spoken anymore since translations were no longer needed as well as having no connection nor history of life living under a dictator/authoritarian. But what really caught my ear regarding the rise of Latino Evangelical churches as Catholicism was cast aside, for these began popping up where I taught in the mid '90s and to be honest, gave me pause even then.

A lot of people in Internet land do not know that legal naturalized Mexican people were deported back during the Great depression repatriated when they were actually US citizens that's horrible
I am mexican living in Monterrey, Mexico. I travel frequently to the US and what i find in common among latinos and why they support Trump everyday in a more public way is summarize in three factos: Critical Race Theory, WOKE movement and Gender Identity Politics. None of these issues were talked about on this video.
Latinos are black, Indian and white and other immigrants like Chinese Japanese, Lebanese, although most are mixed. So yes there is racism. It’s colonialism, 500 years. “America” only difference is the language you use. Spanish, English, Portuguese, French.
I have a dear friend who teaches Spanish. She mentioned that some Mexicans/Mexican-Americans have African ancestors. I was dubious. Welp...I was wrong! Harvard U.'s Henry Louis Gates has affirmed this...African slaves were brought to Mexico.
I grew up and still live in a multicultural state, and most of the Latinos in my state, like 9 in 10, voted Biden/Harris back in 2020, but are now going to vote Red because theyre sick and tired of high lnfIation, endIess wars, an unsecure border, and that other countries and illegals get billions and millions in AID, but when its our own people that need help here in America, they only get $750, that the reality, no matter how much you want to desperately live in the alternate reality made for yourself in your heads. 💙❄️💧😿
A 22-year-old voter with 50,000 TikTok followers, Kruz Kitelinger, cited the false claim about the $750 aid limit, which Trump has made. On its website, FEMA says that people can apply for $750 in “serious needs assistance,” which is an upfront payment to help with costs like food, and that they can also apply for additional funds to cover the cost of temporary housing, home repairs and more.
That happened to my friend. She switched from Democrat to Republican and said it was because of Trans rights curriculums in the schools, bad schools, open borders, anchor babies, increased crime in the Latino-centric neighborhoods, Narco intimidation of families, and lack of housing because it is taken up by undocumented.
Oh right, all those Latinos in your "multicultural state" (aren't all US states multicultural? Freudian Slip much?) are _suddenly_ now all going to vote for Trump?? Riiiight. Every word in your spew is a false right wing talking point. Stop spreading your cult Koolaid here, no one is drinking it.
I think it’s just that as ethnic groups become more assimilated after being here a few generations they just see themselves as being Americans and identify more as simply American more than their motherland or origin. Just as Italian-Americans became more accepted, assimilated, negatively stereotyped less, more middle class and therefore more politically mixed with more conservatives, Latinos are starting to experience the same thing. I’m fully on board with Harris and hope Trump and MAGA are relegated to the ash heap of history, however having said that - I’m glad that voting patterns don’t break down along ethnic and racial lines nearly as much as we previously thought. THAT would bad for national unity.
I appreciate the thought process. It's a little more than assimilation tho. Ian Lopez wrote an amazing book about it and explains how law was used to do what you've identified as assimilating.
Was going to vote Republiccan BUT after reading 📚 on the Wallstreet Journal and video explaining about Project 2025 and the connection to Trump...it's unfortunate that millions of Latino/as do not read anything about how Economics work on politics...and prefer to believe anything that Trump ramblings about without any facts to it...
If you're not a bot, please do the research and you'll see you've been lied to by the WSJ and the other mainstream media. Trump has repeatedly condemned that '2025 Report,' and the few authors who were once associated with him left because they didn't consider him radical enough.
The far-right presence in the Latino demographic is due to migrant Latinos. Latinos born and raised in the US lean toward the left, it's part of our reality as a minority group. For those born in the US that lean right has to do with owning businesses and homes owning, taxes then matter. This also applies to migrants who come from a nation where if you don't provide for yourself and your family, no one eats. Not to mention strong catholic values. What's not surprising yet unintelligible is how Republicans are not taking advantage of this demographic change. it's not surprising because migrant from Latin America will soon realize that part of conservatism in the US is racism. There is an old saying among Latinos who are white in place of origin and migrate to the US, that "your last name betrays you".
It’s literally the opposite, is US Latinos that are to the right of Latin Americans. Just take a look at the region nearly every country is to the left of the United Statea and some of them are literally socialist governments like Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.
@@ericktellez7632 Cuba is one nation in Latin America and one must differentiate between Latinos born and raised in the US and those recently migrating. We see the difference all over NYC.
Considering how a significant percentage of people in Latin American countries easily give in to machismo culture, and they are often extremely religious (catholic) and ultraconservative, on top of the fact that racism and xenophobia are quite normal in Latin America (sometimes even worse than in the US), I’m not surprised at all that so many Latinos in the US (and in Latin America too) passionately support a “strongman” like Trump.

k, I had a cuban teacher who spoke at length about what she and her family went through to come to the US. Under trump, they would not be accepted.

Coming from a Puerto Rican, Evanglical, and Afro Latino back ground, Paola details exactly what a lot of my family are thinking when they vote MAGA.

People make their own decision looking at different issues that are important for them.
that's what I'm saying
So they want to be deported?
This is so sad and pathetic and I’m an immigrant
wao...I'm a Democrat and she's completely wrong on this.

W white/ light skin Hispanics
@@solenstyle Well said and interesting!
and anti-black. and anti-democracy, as long as they feel that fascism will save them from “the Communists”

😂😂😂😂😂what the heck do you think DEI is based off, as Affirmative Action

Only a few who were gang members in their native nation came to the US and continued their illegal activities. It's logical and common sense. I'm Latino, born, raised, and catholic school educated in the US and I speak with my own kind and migrants all the time, so I know. I began as a Democrat but now I'm independent, that is also happening now.
Very eloquently stated. Thank you Paola.
Show me a black or latino person voting for Trump and I'll show you an ignoramus 😮.
What a nuanced and complex take on Latino voters. Excellent and needed interview.
it was a terrible take
she ignored the fact that Latinos HATE PEOPLE LIKE HER
RICH WHITE SOCIALISTS
She's honest and covering a topic mainstream won't touch but one need not refer to 1500s, the apparent elevation of one minority over others will deliver votes to Trump. People.
I. MAXICAN. I. VOTE. FOR. MRS. HARRIS. BLUE 💙🔵💙💙
I’m in the middle of Defectors, awesome book!! Paola Ramos is a gifted writer.
wao...I'm a Democrat and she's completely wrong on this.
@@wilber2k06 I agree wilber
As i have written to people
Your comment, like most of these comments, is deeply ignorant. My guess is you are a middle class white American liberal? what we call baizou….
I will make a few points. You can choose to ignore and continue to wallow in your own ignorance.
Firstly the white YES WHITE Hispanic woman being interviewed is a socialist. In Latin America, most of the most abusive communist and socialists were WHITE.
Most Cubans were FLEEING a white champagne socialist. They want freedom, LESS govt involvement and that is what MAGA offers.
You fools can deny this and just attribute it to racism or ignorance, but the reality is, Latino voters are not a monolith.
And tot he fools that claim Latinos should want the sort of programs the Dems offer.
Latinos understand that more public funding for education does NOT equal better education
They also don't like being told they MUST take a vaccine the govt mandates, while simultaneously being told my body my choice.
Then there are the wars. In case you have not noticed, the Dems are now the party of foreign intervention.
Lastly latinos were beaten down by censorship and draconian laws that erased free speech under men like Castro etc.
The Democratic Party is the party of censorship. Political correctness was a left wing ideology we all experienced in Eastern Bloc nations.
It is pretty pathetic you all attribute Latino conservativism to white supremacy and ignorance. The leader of the Proud Boys was in face a BLACK CUBAN!!
But you will not heed my words and just attribute my opinion to my being a
"Russian Bot"
Y'all are as predictable as you are ignorant and RACIST.
Trump hates them yet they still love that clown
He doesn’t hate anyone. The ILLIGAL immigrants that he doesn’t like. I am as a legal immigrant DO NOT like illegal immigrants. It took us 10 years waiting in line to get here LEGALLY. We got no help from the government. The illegals who break the laws are getting a lot of rewards from this incompetent administration. That is unfair and very wrong.
I haven’t read her book but based on this interview I agree.
There are several reasons for the increase of latinos for trump. I also think there is a large portion of the latino community that leans to conservatism and old school based on religion and social hierarchy. Many immigrants who are in the US legal were from upper classes in their countries, so they have no regard for the immigrants from lower social class who are the ones coming from the desert
Waiting for their turn to be white ??
Probably very few! Millions of immigrants want to do right by their new country which says a lot about someone’s character. Millions of immigrants came with hardly anything to the US!!!
Nothings wrong with Latinos wanting to be called Americans. But I do hope that everyone understands Trump cannot be the leader of this great country. Just listen to recent speech by Liz Cheney when she endorsed Harris.
Trump is more of a leader then Kamal that's for sure
@@LR-px9ms Completely disagree. Heel’s Up Harris is simply not qualified to lead our country. Shame on the democrats party. Liz Cheney is irrelevant.
And you open your eyes and see what this Administration has done to America. Go asked the people affected by the hurricanes how Biden and Harris have treated them. FEMA is running out of money, but they can send millions to Lebanon and Ukraine. That's were our tax payer money and social security fund going.
@@LR-px9ms Trump’s policies are proven winners. Heels Up Harris is the queen of word salads and refuses to answer simple questions. She won’t answer questions because she’s a liar. Tampon Tim is another radical that doesn’t belong anywhere near the presidency.
Common sense, that is the latino mind . Enough with us trying to brain washing. Proud supporter of Donald Trump!
A billionaire elitist is not common. And listen to any one of his rambling sentences for an idea of just how much sense lies behind his jingoistic populist soundbites. Your pride at voting for a man who has repeatedly poured scorn on your ancestors, your women, your socioeconomic status, the laws of your land, just goes to show how deep those colonialist claws are still sunk. I hope one day you work yourself free and realise you can lead instead of blindly following
This is Paola Ramos' opinion on how the dominican woman should look at herself. Fortunatelly, that woman' knows that her identity doesn't depend of what Trump, Harris or Paola for this effect wants her to be. We should vote based on policies, not on our race.
Claiming you are white when you look African just makes you look dumb. But, carry on, if that makes you feel better about yourself.
I don't think all Latinos are going for Trump
Not all. Only those blue collar workers of all backgrounds who think that they are going nowhere with the rising cost of life and stagnating wages.
Mostly young Latino men.
It's not that it's all, it's that it's any
@bruell It's strange, but my post with Byron Donald's quote explaining this phenomenon was removed.
Yes we are !! We don't the same bs democacas promise. Democacas keep trying to make us victims and blame the white man. I'm not a victim I'm an American and I don't want freebies from the democacas!
I’m so glad that the Latino community is finally starting to wake up. LATINOS FOR TRUMP!!🇺🇸🇺🇸
Así es...viva Trump!!!
Ms. Ramos didn't talked that we latinos as a group a great majority os us embrace traditional values. Nothing to do with colonialism .
Is HATE for people who do not look like you or worship like you a "traditional value"? Is DICTATORSHIP a "traditional value"?
I love how these Marxists talk about colonization and the racial caste all the time but when it comes to pronouncing Latino names they make so sure to use that Spanish pronunciation perfectly. Aren’t they embracing the oppressor’s language?
and yet they don't even know the history of their countries...The Spaniards didn't "colonize" Latin America like the Brits or Dutch did, they stablished a Viceroyalty
Latinos in the US, identify as white, because, most Latinos have some European blood in them, and they think that’s enough, to win over white Anglo-American.
Oh, FYI, the Spanish language, itself isn’t homogeneous to Spain, their are over 2,000 words in their vocabulary, that are Arabic, in origin.
I really appreciate this channel’s effort to analyze the reasoning behind Trump’s supporters. I still want (and need) to get along with these people.
I don't think policy can solve this. This country needs therapy! Wow!😢
Since when can policy solve much of anything except for the bureaucrats needs? Government is not interested in solving your problems, government is interested in solving its own problems.
Very good analysis provided by Paola Ramos that helps elucidate the internalized racism prevalent in many Latinos. Bravo Paola
I believe people who go to church and look to a pastor to tell them what to believe and think are mentally weak. I’m not exactly sure how to put it, but they will literally take their abstract rhetoric as gospel. They will replace their own ideas with those of the pastor’s. To me, there is something very weak about that.
I think you are the same as them because you immediately think they can’t think for themselves.
@@Bibirallie so, who, then am I listening to?
they can’t fathom the idea that priests and preachers lie and manipulate.
@@TryingToDoBetter01your listening to a strong brown independent Latina that doesn’t need a man .
I completely disagree with Paola Ramos' conclusions and interpretation of the Hispanic culture and the alleged rise of the right. She overlooked the most obvious reason.
because she is a white supremacist socialist and LIAR
Latino voters need to be educated and wealthy latino influencer democrats need to shape up and start talking to them
Trump is death to America.
I love how this lady claims Hispanic people are basically ignorant and really don’t know why they are backing Trump other than colonialism that is basically a non-issue of today.
How is it a non-issue if policies affect minorities, people of color, and people of middle class and lower?
@@janellimarie what policies are you even talking about? In terms of policy having effect, every policy government rights has an effect on every race color in creed. What are these generalizations?
it’s the non-stop lies and propaganda from fox news, newsmax and churches.
Exactly, this lady does not understand basic common sense, she sounds like an out of touch elitist who wants to espouse theories, a lot of people, Hispanics included, are voting Trump just by looking at the grocery bill, someons should send this lady grocery bill receipts, maybe she'll get a clue, she just another out of touch Democrat elitist.
I would be surprised if Paola Ramos is voting for Trump. But she has a very unique cultural perspective on all of this and I appreciate her. She could be very persuasive in moving the Latino population to vote Republican or Democrat.
She spoke about anti blackness very well.
.. believe it.... Trump is going to separate
Latino families....
.....😡😡😡 and that's a FACT!!!!
