You don't find it weird that a guy from higher education (basically the people who build that system) turns around and says it is messed up? Secondly it's not a matter of skill but a matter of licensing and rights that allows them to do that. I actually goes much deeper than this but you can research it and you'll see it get's really dark. It doesn't make sense to insult your department that you are part of unless he was not really from higher education. Other countries don't dictate our curriculum so if it is a mess would they not be blame
I’ve been having similar conversations with many people recently! This education is one of the most problematic things we have and it’s not made for use to thrive.
I think the best way is to balance . Get the matric and have a good standing. This way you will have an advantage to be flexible. Unlike just leaving school at grade 9 to go to tvet. Whether grade 9 or matric, you can still go to tvet. . I find it unwise to just focus on grade 9 and tvet whereas you can focus on matric and a wide range of possibilities. . What i got from you is how important mentality is. If we adopt a good mentality,we will be able to navigate our lives throughout the system.
Not to be rude, but I think your opinion is wrong. For the fact that the group I was doing Gr 11 with are still stuck applying for universities, whereas I dropped out and focused on building the needed skills to thrive. I am now a penetration tester and get paid $5k for every bug I find. Well I am not saying people should jump the ship, but having a clear goal is better than the wide range. Think about this, there are families stuck with student loans because of university and still are without a job. If they do a get a job it's not what they initially studied for in university. I agree that your mentality does play a part, but when close to zero opportunities are being created it's hard to even breakthrough. It's only the 1% or 2% that are lucky. I say a skills based education (practicality) is way better than theory based education. Now let me ask you this while in high school, how many practical projects did you have? I am guessing it's few, but the information you have is above and beyond. Which is why colleges are better than universities. In terms of flexibility, by networking and knowing people who do different things. You could learn from them sooner or later. For instance, if you have friend that's a mechanic given enough time you could learn from him/her.
@@Miso-r4w its flexible because they can apply anywhere. One needs to use logic , you can't force for varsity entry while you see that your results don't qualify. You apply where it suits them best. . Tvet colleges won't deny a matriculant. Practicality can be achieved at any level. Even a 30year old can learn practical things and develop new skills. You'll be short sighted if you think that age renders one incapable
@@baloyishane3223 I agree that TVET Colleges don't deny anyone with good grades or potential, but there is a stigma around those colleges. If you go to a college you are less informed except if it's a private college and those are expensive. I did not mention age, but yes anyone can learn skills that's why we have doctors and mechanical engineers. Those are skills that are needed, but practicality is more important. You know why students who do medicine are supposed to do their practicals because it's to see if they know how to actually do things rather than reading and learning about it (theory). The same is true for students who do education, they need their practicals in order to pass. There are millions of students who have qualifying results but are denied entry, why? Because the school system is clogged and in need of change. Bro look at Europe and America young kids do practical stuff at an early age/grade. Hence you see they are revolutionizing the world. I remember a 15-year-old who did calculations and an explanation of the 4 dimension. Yet here 15-year-olds are taught something as easy as the Pythagorean theorem and some are still struggling with BODMAS. Stop defending a broken system bruh.
@@Miso-r4w yes i agree with you, right now we need to continue with reality. The school system yes it needs change but now it hasn't changed. . If you can go for a mile, then go,if you can't then take an alternative. Everyone knows themselves best, if you know you can't reach matric, you can take the alternative of grade 9 and tvet. . As for stigma yes but its no longer that strong now. Majority are going to colleges because that's where their results lead them. . Anyone should be encouraged towards their potential
I have a masters degree 😢 I have not been able to get a job in my field, so decided to take a one week course in healthe care and now earn more than a GM at a company working abroad. Most people look down on the job I do but my bank account is looking down at theirs.
This issue has bothered me ever since I was in school.....whereby I had to either shape in or ship out....coming from a previously disadvantaged background...I saw it not wise to ship out as I'd minimize my already scarce opportunities by disqualifying myself from the basic education system possible opportunities.....to sum it up....I'd say to navigate the system even though you know what you want...because no education is a waste.
at some point we have to acknowledge that our government (ANC) is an accomplice to this crime against humanity. I've long moved on from pointing fingers, this is why the Sobukwes. and Bikos were killed so that they can negotiate with the sellout and enrich them so they sell us out. I think Mirikana makes it very simple that who will kill who to please who. I think we need to organise and come up with practical solutions and a way forward.
Matric is NOT a requirement for every industry or job. The confusion needs to be addressed and companies must STOP making a Matric certificate a requirement for every job.
I think we as South Africa are more concerned about Intergration with the colonizers instead of actually being concerned about fixing the actual mess they put us in. It's pretty pathetic how they are quick to tell us to forgive and move on when instead we should be going through the redress of every step of the "System Oppression" that was and still is imposed on us. This struggle is tough and when we don't get anything done we are labeled lazy and incompetent💔
They are fixing it tho, im in grade 9 and they started(this year) this thing called GEC(General Education Certificate) where basically grade 9s do this course and they get a certificate that allows them to go to Tvet collages and in this GEC thing, the subject they value the most is EMS, which consists of economics, business studies and accounting which will basically teach people how to become entrepreneurs in the near future, so this problem HAS been here but it is being eliminated as we speak

When the technique has been perfected, every government that has been in charge of education for more than one generation will be able to control its subjects securely without the need of armies or policemen.
That's not the reason, the biggest problem we have with South Africans who are in power is, they tend to be obsessed with stealing money whilst they in power than creating a legacy that will transform our country into a powerhouse. Our current president is a typical example, since he became president, engineering slowed down drastically, healthcare students stopped getting focus , hospitality industry dropped due to more and more government officials aren't investing into the country anymore. Actually, nobody cares anymore and that's causing education to be more useless because how can you justify to your child that education is the key to success when a Doctor is jobless ?😢😢😢😢
Well, on the perspective of the education system it's actually true because South Africa isn't a country it's run like a firm owned by wealthy Individuals that's that why from grade 9_12 , in between those grades have no value. However, college N1_N6 has value equivalent to S1_S2. So, the point is, the whole system we are taught to be educated stupids that can't transform their knowledge into practical experience. That's why we have many engineers but no inventions because they are glorified booksworms but lack practical knowledge of what they were taught. So, when leaders are practically not knowledgeable, companies and countries struggle to use youth available because they do not fit into the system of companies.
thats why am saying we only have knowledge no skills . i remember when i started my trade i had all the knowledge in the world but no skills and i really struggled alot to learn the skill
@bigmanreactz7778 100% correct. If you can notice something, is there anything that you are doing now that's linked to your maths and science knowledge ?
When you say ‘they’ and ‘took’ this is a very misguided inaccuracy! Why can’t you be clear? I assume you mean Western nations fair but was totally unacceptable is you making like Africas resources are somehow stolen. This is nonsense these raw materials are purchased in the open market for market value nothing is forcing you to sell these goods but you do because you want the revenue it generates or more accurately politicians want the revenue! The general premise of valuing more technical trades though I agree they are needed and are valuable. The politicians you voted for as a black community has been in charge of the education system for 30 years you cannot blame the previous regime for its pitfalls in today’s world!
they are purchased we are not refusing that but we all no that africa dont no how to use the minirals .thats why they cant build the country with them. the country is focused on useless career choices that keep them poor
@ totally agree! We must also remember that to build roads and buildings you need qualified engineers so not all bookies are useless on a practical level!
It's not entirely inaccurate. If you look at the research on commodity (e.g., gold) price manipulation, it's evident that South Africa wasn’t paid a fair price for its resources. While it’s easy to blame the West, countries like China also engaged in similar practices. "They" may not have directly "taken" the resources, but the terms of trade weren’t in South Africa’s favor. No one forced South Africa to sell its resources, but at the time, there were limited alternatives. That said, South Africa should have done more to transition away from its heavy reliance on raw resource exports, as countries like South Korea successfully did by developing their manufacturing and other sectors.
@ if the gold price was manipulated then it was manipulated for everyone and all countries not just SA raw materials like gold come from 100s of countries I think the majority of which is outside of Africa. SA has not been uniquely prejudiced on purpose is what I’m saying. We need to stop making excuses and kill it in-spite of the challenges we face. Some nations thrive literally without any resources and they were previously disadvantaged like South Korea or Singapore! These countries are proof that when you value education and conservatism you can build your nation and uplift living standards for all!
We have qualified capable professionals without work. If you want to curb poverty, generate industry for those people. Stop worrying about imaginary stuff

John D Rackefella funded education prior industrialization. He said "I don't want a nation of thinkers, I want a nation of workers"
He Also vilified Natural Medicine & promoted hs pharmaceutical synthetic treatments NOT curing remedies
FACTS FACTS FACTS
That why our country is so sick
And we don't have any skill to deal with things like that and our skills are so basic to do anything about it
We were sold as a country long ago. I'm afraid to think that multiple deals were made while we were distracted by "transfer of power" from the minority to the majority.
Eix but it's distroying our lives
Luckily i realised this fact at 15yrs old & started learning graphic design on my own, now I'm 20 on my 1st year of freelancing & making around $3k p/m out of freelancing alone which is about R53k

Yo share the skill bra
You don't find it weird that a guy from higher education (basically the people who build that system) turns around and says it is messed up? Secondly it's not a matter of skill but a matter of licensing and rights that allows them to do that. I actually goes much deeper than this but you can research it and you'll see it get's really dark. It doesn't make sense to insult your department that you are part of unless he was not really from higher education. Other countries don't dictate our curriculum so if it is a mess would they not be blame
Bro, I realized this when I go out of highschool. I wish my parents took me to trade school growing up😔
thats me brother .cuz varsity sometimes is a waste of our time
I wish trade schools would be compulsory
✌️
I’ve been having similar conversations with many people recently! This education is one of the most problematic things we have and it’s not made for use to thrive.
It's made for politions not us bra
Yep, I'm posting this on my WhatsApp status 😂

I think the best way is to balance
.
If we adopt a good mentality,we will be able to navigate our lives throughout the system.
nah i was just saying that our education system has to change .i dont want people to leave school
Most people look down on the job I do but my bank account is looking down at theirs.
i am making a video now that talks about good career chooses and health is one of them

@mathabatha9012 I'm talking about the Old PAC, before 94
This issue has bothered me ever since I was in school.....whereby I had to either shape in or ship out....coming from a previously disadvantaged background...I saw it not wise to ship out as I'd minimize my already scarce opportunities by disqualifying myself from the basic education system possible opportunities.....to sum it up....I'd say to navigate the system even though you know what you want...because no education is a waste.
i know what you mean and your right .i just want our edication system to change so that we can have a good future when we are young not old
That's why some of my friends decided to quit high school (grade 10) and started to drive taxis, and now they are millionaires

I made more than one video covering this in depth. Watch me to see whats really going on. Good work by the way bro, the more the merrier.
i will check it out
@bigmanreactz7778 heck yea bro, thanks for the support 💪🍻
Any country is its peoples.
at some point we have to acknowledge that our government (ANC) is an accomplice to this crime against humanity.
Useless government
You are finding about this in 2024 ???.
And we worship this education.
useless education system
Matric is NOT a requirement for every industry or job. The confusion needs to be addressed and companies must STOP making a Matric certificate a requirement for every job.
thats the problem that i have
I think we as South Africa are more concerned about Intergration with the colonizers instead of actually being concerned about fixing the actual mess they put us in. It's pretty pathetic how they are quick to tell us to forgive and move on when instead we should be going through the redress of every step of the "System Oppression" that was and still is imposed on us. This struggle is tough and when we don't get anything done we are labeled lazy and incompetent💔
Yes that's what other countries say about us they like to say south Africans are lazi
No that no longer fly its been more than 30 years start living in the present and apply your mind
We are fools I wish I lived in Burkina Faso because they discovered their people real needs ☹️
the country does not care about their people
They are fixing it tho, im in grade 9 and they started(this year) this thing called GEC(General Education Certificate) where basically grade 9s do this course and they get a certificate that allows them to go to Tvet collages and in this GEC thing, the subject they value the most is EMS, which consists of economics, business studies and accounting which will basically teach people how to become entrepreneurs in the near future, so this problem HAS been here but it is being eliminated as we speak
Yes my guy I discovered that atleast their trying but other countries you can even go to varsity but it will improve
Please can people try find the book "Understanding and Motivating the Bantu Worker" by E.Raymond Silbersauber published in '68 and then republished in '73. It's banned in a lot of places there's a reason. 😳

No pre 94, you would have a point post 94 it was generalized eduction blacks whites Indians colords everyone has the same education that is a talking point from a politician this is not fact
The only people who get a better education are those who pay, that's is why because their schools are run better it not the information that is different its that the government schools are not funded well enough our government spends 8% percent of its tax revenue on education but most is taken away by people in the system our tax revenues is R2.1 trillion in gross tax
R21000 is spent on education per students in sa this is food to and the schools are dilapidated and broken and underfunded why I think it's corruption that's it.
I was looking for this kind of comment👌🏾... The other ones are just pandering to themselves... South Africa has no grounds of complaining because we've had time to change it but we didn't 🤷🏾...
@BennedictK thank you. These figures are not being brought up in the media enough. I just learned about these things because I'm always listening to these flawed talking points and actually wanted to know.
@BennedictK also, i think that sa was on the right track before 2008 It was going places after it was just steamrolling downhill. I hope that sa can bring it back, but it will take time, and If sa can remain stable and rearrange itself, it should only go up.
@@iforget6940 I'm waiting for the participants of the Victim Olympics to say it's white people 👀... And then I'll ask them who has been on the steering wheel of S.A for the last 3 decades🤦🏾♂️...

Yo this country is rich when it comes to natural resources man but we can't even eat from our mothers hand cuz we don't even have a spoon
@bigmanreactz7778 Economics aside. The issue is deeper. There is a reason why they took our spirituality from us before they took the land. But at the Source of the problem, lays the Source of the solution.
Maybe the current education has yet more negative outcomes.
I still want to know the sources of the post-1948-rulers who planned this previous education system.
Panyaza Lesufi this man
Also culture of black people is that u must go to varsity and do stable job like teaching, nursing now oversaturated cuz everybody did it like that. U could actually do N1-N6 at tvet now buteope want name they went to varsity
Guys N1 to N6 after do your trade your life will change quick
Money is king boss. It doesn't matter if it's a white cat or black cat as long as it can catch the mise. After all it is glorious to be rich
so how will we be rich if we learning useless things
@@bigmanreactz7778 Education should aim at destroying free will so that after pupils are thus schooled they will be incapable throughout the rest of their lives of thinking or acting otherwise than as their schoolmasters would have wished... When the technique has been perfected, every government that has been in charge of education for more than one generation will be able to control its subjects securely without the need of armies or policemen.
It’s because we’re an Extractive Economy. That’s your answer
but we can try to guide eachother to somthing positive
Very ignorant comment as if you don't know Neocolonism exists. Tell me why Burkina Faso president kicked France out of the country!
But you the same one crying when they wanna reverse it through bela bill

In a module called Education Studies, I learnt that in short, the education system was meant to create the “ideal slaves”; slaves who won’t be question their “boss’s” authority, slaves who won’t mind wearing uniform to work; slaves who will work to get paid just enough to last them for a little while and then come back to work for more while the employer makes money exponentially with “the slaves”😭
