No, its actually not helpful. Dude bashes his own car to no end. I've had one of these for the last 4 yrs and zero issues. Its a 2014 and zero motor issues and mine even has a supercharger on it. I have no idea why his review was so harsh on this car. And also, the stereo system sounds pretty good actually, and I've had many aftermarket systems with subs. Its a great car for the track and the street, period!
I believe the C7 gen is really going to age well over time. Seeing its the last variant of the front-mid engine Vettes, an example with a manual and preferred options should hold its value nicely. A future classic in the making.
Corvettes are great cars, but they make as many as people want to buy, and the people who buy them are the types who never drive them, so there is never a shortage of clean low mileage examples. That’s why none of them ever hold their value, let alone appreciate other than what happens due to general economic inflation (rising tides lift all boats). That’s also what makes them the best choice for a track car. People who track Porsches just have too much $ to burn and aren’t interested in maximizing time on track (lower running costs = more tires/track days for the same $). If you want to track, get a corvette, but don’t buy one hoping it’s some classic that will be worth a crazy amount of $ some day.
@@joeracer302 this is all true, but a counter argument is, this is the last of a generation. With the introduction of EV'S, ICE will become more scarce thus driving demand up. They make lots of these, but not really. The C7 was the second shortest generation, with the C6 and C4 being the longest. Speaking of, build quality in the C7 is heads and tails over all previous generations. Chevy states that and it was a reason they went to mid engine, the platform was maxed out. If you have a z oriented one, there are only roughly ten thousand of those total, in the whole generation (both the ZR1 and Z06 aren't much slower than the new C8 Z06 for twice the cost. Which will also drag the cost upward. Why pay for 2/10 faster car when you don't have to?). And finally, hold onto anything long enough and it's worth something. Look at the price of any C1-C3. Some go for as much as 150-200k, depending on the version , year, and condition. The values on these aren't falling either I still own one that is blue booking at the price I paid for it. COVID and supply chain issues have something to do with that but it's never stayed this high before for any previous model.
Everyone has an opinion. I own a C7, and I love it. The C7 is the best looking of all the Corvettes, and does all I need it to do. To each his own...........I'm here to live my life for me, and not for anyone else or their opinions.
Yea WE know how good this channel is, tuning in these days is like an event. When they don’t have Friday videos I’m actually disappointed. Relatable is right,
I saw Jacks new C8 in another video and I just came on here to really commend him for his openness to letting others drive and track his new car. I think that shows a really big heart and love it. 👍🏽👍🏽
I have 110k miles on my 2017 Camaro SS with the LT1. It's been amazing. Still runs like new. Only major item I've changed are the rear mag ride struts collapsed at 95k miles. I bought used ones with 20k miles for $180 for both. Still on original clutch thanks to rev matching!
Really looking forward to getting a 2017+ Camaro SS myself in 2SS manual trim. Everything about that car is what I want. Any other things to be aware of with ownership?
You know, my 2020 Mustang GT has rev matching and it works quite well. Clutch life is a benefit of rev matching. I get annoyed at channels that claim they HAVE to turn it off. I can do all the heal-and-toe, but 99% of the time I'd rather just use the rev matching.
My red/red 2014 Corvette C7 Z51 was an amazing beautiful car with very good handling the only bad issue was that it was very unreliable, most of the time it spend it on the shop, too many failures to mention, twice was towed and the only time that I toke it to the track it overheated its rear drive (it was an A6 transmission). I trade it for a 6th gen 2016 Camaro SS with a 6MT. The car performed great and never gave me any issue.
@@gabrielflores1149 Do you have a suggestion for a replacement? I have a 2018 1LE with ~45k miles and my front lip is in pretty poor condition. OEM one is astronomically priced for a piece of molded ABS ($500+ unpainted)
It's very good looking. Shame about the dashboard though. It looks as if they tried to make it relate to their traditional clientele while giving a hint of modern at the same time. I don't get it how a car could look so good from the outside and so bad from the inside while it's one team designing the whole thing.
We may agree to disagree, but I think all of the C7 Corvettes were the last true Corvettes and will go down as one of the greatest Corvette generations ever made.
I had a c7 daily, put 50k on it, and the top came off constantly. I always found it really easy to pull off and put away. Fantastic daily, super useable, not awful mpg and just fun.
dude... the phrasing in your comment had me like: "wait the fucking targa top comes loose on a 180mph sports car?! 😳" then I read the rest of your comment...
I have a C7 Z51 as my daily driver and I always take the top off whenever I can, because...why not? It's been a great daily with few exceptions: mileage has been great (for a V8) except if you're stuck at traffic lights for a while. And speed bumps... depending on how high they are... you might still scrape even after putting the car into Track mode with the stiffest suspension and taking the bump diagonally. I just scraped the other day. I have Michelin Pilot Alpin tires for the winter, which have been great. The car tends to get a little hot inside even in the colder months, but I have the windows partially open right through December, so it doesn't much matter. It really has been a great car and I can't imagine any replacements, except maybe the Camaro.
Something I’ve always admired about your videos is your ability to speak consistently and without pause AND have very insightful thoughts while racing around a track.
I had an opportunity to ride in a C7 GS at Watkins Glen, with a capable driver, and can agree with everything you say about it. Well done team Corvette !
This car will be missed! The last and greatest front engine rear wheel drive Corvette! Beautiful design and bullet proof! Cannot say enough about not having to worry about the car breaking on you and/or costing an arm and a leg to maintain. When you go exotic and emotional your wallet gets emotional too because it’s constantly empty. I mean cheap compared to other vehicles out there.
@@philipparana9225 what did you blow up? cause these are some of the most stout motors in existence. The reinforced crank makes the bottom end pretty much impervious and you can throw tons of power on top and it will eat it up.
Seriously you are correct. Hopefully my C7 vette will hold up like my c5 and c6's all z06 models because all I needed to do was change oil and each was used for over 100k miles.
I have a '17 GS as my DD. I opted for the 8spd auto. I prefer driving a manual, but daily driving in Houston traffic gets old very fast with a manual. And by DD, I mean I actually drive it to work every day, rain or shine. Only keep it at home when a flash flood warning is in effect. I love it as a daily, very comfortable and makes longer road trips to Dallas or Austin a lot more fun. Don't have time to track it anymore, but any time I am on a highway and the traffic is light, I let her stretch her legs. Definitely my favorite car I have ever owned.
I hear ya..7 spd manual it's long and capable on a track..but you right I live outside of Houston and traffic is terrible especially you are in a manual..really sucks except you can get on a open road lol..the 8 speed auto maybe slow..but its better on the road as a brusier crusier..looking for one myself..enjoy 😊
I look at the C7 as an attainable dream car. It does a lot of things well and what shocked me when I rode in one is how comfortable it is. Firm without being harsh and comfortable seats if you stick with the stock seats.
I have a 2019 C7 GS. Shadow Gray with Adrenaline red interior comp seats. It's been a blast. Around a track this thing shines and really holds its own against more expensive cars
I no longer lust over a Porsche, Ferrari, any of those higher end sports car. A Corvette is as much car as I'd ever want. Had a C6 from 2006-2014ish and loved it, replaced with an F80 M3 I never bonded with the same way. I'd own this C7 Grand Sport in a heartbeat.
You guys are the greatest guys on UA-cam along with car and driver and Motor Trend you guys are the only people that I watch other than them and among the best out there thank you I love your videos
Congrats on the upcoming purchase Jack, super happy for you that you can swing it, that's awesome at your age! All the power to you and so glad you track and beat on vehicles, rather than making them garage queens. After all, most (I'm guessing) subscribers live vicariously through the two of you!
I am happy for him as well , keep in mind what he does for a living though , he can basically right off the entire cost of the car . He can right it off as equipmemnt for work as it creates content , he is self employed so it could be a write off that way as transportation . The mainteneance and fuel and all sorts of stuff can be written off and because of the well deserved popularity of his content by now it may very well be in his best interest to buy the more expensive current Z06 to the point that the car essentially pays for itself . That is one of the benefits of being self employed in general ( you do pay more of other taxes often , like social security ) and because he is a car content maker . NOT HATING ONE BIT , i am happy for him but I reckon many people who are employed or younger may not understand how that works and how much less expensive it is for somebody like him and as he does better it becomes in his interest tp buy a more expensive car to ACTUALLY SAVE MONEY . Im sure he probably owns real estate as well that is mortgaged which means ( especially early in the life of the mortgage he can write off nearly the entire payment because its almost all interest in the beginning ) . Being self employed has many benefits that one gets generally as a trade off for less security then working for a big corp that matches your taX payments for SSi and or contribute to your retirement in some way by matching what you put in and perhaps health or even life insurance and other perks . I know these content creators tend to WORK THEIR ASSES OFF and unlike a " job" taking vacations or even having the luxury to be sick or injured and down is not there as the game is about keeping a constant flow of content and with cars staying current . Jack IMO is smart having his partner on many levels even if the money gets split ( i think he was not one of the principles early on and became a bigger part of the channel) . He is kinda young and it may seem like a big achievment to buy a Z0-6 AND IT IS!!!!!! and he has 1. Put the work in 2. Taken the chance to make something like this in a HYPER COMPETETIVE space ( car reviews and content ) and the production value tends to be good ( which I believe is partially because the little fella has skills in editing and production perhaps as well as camera stuff ). They did go the route of making really good content which costs more $ and time and are among some of the best in the space being independentrs , so they assume a lot of risk and bet on themselves which is ballsy and as fun as it may look I do reckon they work quite hard and often have very long days as well as a fair amount of travel and ALL MANNER of biz managment stuff to contend with . AGAIN I am also pleased because both these guys are cool and you can tell they put toms of effort in AND I would also say they are some of the least corny in the space , although I wouldnt mind some content where they competed against each other racing and some challenges or adventures but thats not their "brand" and they have to pick a lane and they SHOULD STAY in it as its some of the most no nonsense and does have the appearence of less bias ev3n if the little guy has his predjudices that he changes sometimes AND I MOSTLY AGREE WITH HIS PRAGMATIC side when explaining who a car is for and why and not pulling too many punches which is hard when you want access as press . Thats a lot to say that his Z06 is going to cost him A LOT !!!!!! less just because of what he does compared to almost anybody else and HE DESERVES IT as a perk for the hard work and good job done. But if i were to judge his financial success I wouldnt use the car as a metric compared to other investments , some of which might be right offs as well with maybe and editing building on personal property or other stuff to help with more right offs for RE investments and I have no idea how much free stuff like tires and whatnot they might get ( which is perfectly fine by me if thats what they use already or only take products they like). Yeah , Considering the quality and following getting a Z06 is almost mandatory considering it is basically the craziest thing to come along in long while considering cost and that GM PULLED IT OFF and pulled down the pants of every car maker with performance cars . These new Zs should be a safe bet for what are generally depreciating assetts especially as cars like it get phased out , i imagime he might hold on to this one. Chhers
Great send off. Just bought a C8 Z51 to start tracking. After a 718 GT4, it’s surprised me thus far how capable it is. Probably do the Girodiscs, pads, and wheel upgrades for the ‘23 season. Hard to believe the LT1 in the C7 GS is that good. Almost makes the case to save a few grand and get the Camaro SS 1LE for track work. But then that ZL1 1LE…..still on my list. 😁
Jack, if you didn’t take off the targa top at least once a week in the summer, then you are just a ballerina! Love taking the top off my C7 and hearing it roar.
That's funny. I am a designer at a large OEM. I have a 2016 Mustang with Apex-Sm10's as well and the conti forces. My coworker has a blue c7 GS with the exact same wheels as you(gray sm10's). I track my car extensively, and was saying the other night that a C7GS might be my next move. Very topical video for me!
I think that was the most glowing review of a Corvette I've ever heard come out of Mark's mouth. You should buy it from Jack and then charge him rent when he gets the nostalgia bug.
Whilst you described the V8 sound as mundane, it has been my experience that the rest of the world finds the American V8 sound intoxicating. Perhaps commonality makes our V8's something we take for granted? Well Done!
To be fair these guys have driven a gt3, a gt2rs, a gt4 rs a new Z06 and even an LFA. Oh didn't they even drive an old Ferrari NA V8 as well. Our peasant V8 probably sounds like a wet fart to them!
Dan you are always a hero and bring a welcome perspective. I think your right if I lived in a country where v8s were less common i would appreciate this soundtrack more. With that said i think compared to special v8s of gm past(ls9, ls7) even the gt350 from ford it lacks that joyful resonance i wanted in my corvette. What are your thoughts on the sounds of internal combustion products through the years. Do you think they are getting better or worse versus say your aircooled porsche
11:03. The fact that the black sheet metal brackets aren't even scratched is very impressive, (the ones on both sides of the center lower radiator duct).
Great summary of the ownership experience. Bang on with the various maintenance items. I miss my GS. From Vancouver to LA road trips to bothering P cars at track days, it did it all shockingly well. I will be watching the used market in a few years hoping prices drop!
C6 3lt z51 m6, MGW shifter, Edelbrock SC, AR headers, Borla S type, ZR1 replicas and Continentals owner…. I thoroughly loved your video and couldn’t agree more. Good job on the track…certainly not a hack 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@666cemetaryslut I definitely agree, Jonathan. I own a 50th Anniversary C5 convertible, but my favorite style is the C6. The C6 has a few more creases than the C5 and I think they enhance the looks of the C6. The C5 is a bit “too smooth” and the C7 has too many creases and bulges. That said, the C7 is still decent looking. To me, the C8 is ugly and has bad proportions. But looks are personal, so I realize some think the C8 is great. I’m just not one of them.
@@OldRustySteele The base C8 to me doesn't look the greatest but I know they had to leave something on the table for the Z06 and the other high end versions.
The C7 is a great car and the GS in the video is beautiful in the soon to be discontinued Elkhart Lake Blue metallic. Contrary to popular belief though you do not have to own a manual to enjoy the car. 😎 Best of luck with the C8 and look forward to future content with that beast
I went to buy one in 2017, the dealership experience was so bad, I walked out and bought a 991.2 base 911 Carrera. I'm sure I would have been very happy with this car, but if this is how they treat you when buying, I couldn't imagine how bad the service department would have been. Glad your experience was positive.
It’s worth it for Todd at the end!!!! 😮 Bring him back!!! You could do a storyline like he and Turboski hate you and Jack. They randomly F with you guys or whatever and want to take over the channel.
19:55 Strong resale value could be a favorable point. Are c8's still in short supply? I would expect that most buyers would want the latest, and prefer a c8. Long live manuals.
Kudos for having chosen such relatively small wheels and fat rubber on them. Reminds me of actual GT3 cars and looks so much more purposefull and racecar-like than those huge horse carriage wheels with plastidipped perimeter! Sure works a lot better on the road and track as well!
The last of a legacy. Scary powerful Agile on track Purely violent in nature Long slung hood with a F YOU style V8. Perfect weight balance and just enough class. 👌
I had the highest milage C7 while they were still produced and the AFM valves melting, e-LSD chewing up fluid and metal at a rapid pace, and the lifters killing cams were the major issues. Carbon buildup and injector cost are annoying but better on 2017+ cars due to the PCV changes. The LT1 Camaro seems to be SO GOOD since they got the upgraded Corvette parts from the git go.
I just went to the corvette museum in bowling green this past weekend and I've never wanted a corvette more than I do now. The museum delivery is an absolute no brainer option!
Great video. I agree with everything you said with the exception of the targa top. I find it very easy to remove, stow and put back on. It usually only goes on when I wash the car. I have a 2019 GS and, like you, was not in love with at first. However, after two+ years of ownership and 21,000 miles, I have to say it’s an amazing vehicle.
The only thing better than a great C7 Corvette review… Is having it be done in the voice of Patrick Bateman, from a guy who actually knows what it’s like to track and drive a car quickly. ❤ 🍻 Thank you for putting together a beautiful and informative video, about a car that is very near and dear to me as a longtime racer. 🙌
As a C7 GS owner ('17, manual, 2LT), with a C8 Z06 reservation a little ways out, I'm struggling to want to get rid of it, as it's such an amazing car. Gonna try to find a way to keep it while also getting the Z.
The person who buys your Vett will have the same admiration for the car as you have Jack and I am sure will take care of it like you did. Can't wait till Spring to see your new Vett videos...I am also not sure if I need a e after Vett....?
You can't just tease me with retro ToddDd clips. That's mean. That just leaves me wishing for more. Congrats to Jack's apparent successful illicit operations making young simultaneous ownership of a C8 Z06 and GR86 possible!
What a great wrap-up! Thanks for this! I'm on the fence between a new GR86 or getting a used C7 GS... It's a second car just for fun on the street. You're videos have really helped with the fact finding but have made the decision even harder! Love these problems!
Got a Z51 manual Stingray Convertible. Love the car. Love to rip the gears with the top down. Ther is no problem with wind noise so i drive it 90% time with top down. Also conv`s are a lot quieter with top up then a coupe. Something to keep in mind. Love your work guys!
I had a Z51 C7 and I loved the car, I traded it for a GT 350 and the cars could not be more different but both great and capable. The GT 350 is more raw and more engaging. I miss cruising on long trips in the Corvette it was great for the long winding roads. I do feel like the GT 350 is better on shorter turns and roads like Tail of the Dragon where you can keep the RPMs up. Great review, thanks!
Excellent explanation about C7 in general. Excellent vehicle! Any other vehicle that I had a roll start at 35, 40 and even 45 mph. This 2019 C7 Z06 1LZ A8 (automatic) ended up in my rearview mirror. I mean every factor vehicle up to a million dollars. Yes, your right for the price, looks and performance I agree. I will truly miss the C7 model. GM should of stayed with it. Great video.
Great, informative video. This car is next on my list, when I get some money- gotta stick with my C5 for now. I love the C7, especially when GS equipped.
As I am literally penning my 1-year review of my c6 GS, so much echoes what you're saying here. Most of all (which was the main reason I didn't do a review earlier) like you my opinion of it was kind of a moving target for much if the first year. It gets better every time I drove it for much of this year. I really liked it when I bought it, but LOVE it now.
God this is a bittersweet moment with what is sure to be a future classic. And yet, the z06 you’ll be replacing this with is leagues above in the emotional aspect even if it gives up some of the feel and old school mechanical aspects of this car. You’re lucky to be where you are and I’m glad to see you’re enjoying these cars to the fullest. I’ve always thought the grand sports might be the best deal for track driving although I’m starting to wonder if even they’re getting excessive for anything off the street. I don’t have the budget for regular track driving (or a corvette newer than a C5 for that matter) so I appreciate a platform that gives pleasure on the street and where you can explore its capabilities without getting into trouble. So maybe a brute force corvette with a grunty engine and endless grip isn’t for me, but for that matter any recent corvette is likely excessive. Back when my friends and I bombed backroads in our Miatas I experienced what they could be on 200tw tires and even that was probably too much - taking “slow 35mph” marked sweepers at highways speeds is terrifying in an open top car. Hell, even taking test drives on those same roads in turbocharged sports sedans made me feel uneasy with how high the limits were. I’ve completely gone off tangent but this kind of thing and hearing the costs of replacing 335 size tires makes me appreciate how my favorite cheap sports cars can deliver joy on the road. I’d love to drive something with copious power and steamroller tires on the track but at the end of the day my favorite car experience is winding out peppy cars on twisty backroads at the limits of cheap sized tires. You say this car needs track driving to truly appreciate it and I can believe it. I think that’s why I’m leaning away from even the comparably pedestrian C5 as a fun car. I like the freedom of accessibility of enjoying myself on local roads. I absolutely loved my few and far between track and autocross experiences but to buy a car almost exclusively for its capability for those rare days is too luxurious for me. Oh, one last thing, thank you for noting that while the manual is only good choice for this grand sport, if you’re unable to use one the automatic is fine. It’s not a particularly pertinent choice to have to make in this age of decent automatics but from a car enthusiast with a disabled partner, it means a lot to hear that.
I owned a Corvette Stingray C7 Z51 and later replace it for a 6th gen Camaro SS. The Camaro SS would give you 95% of the same driver's involvement feeling without the looks or the higher cost of the Corvette, and if you want even more performance at the track you can opt for the SS1LE or ZL1.
A clear headed evaluation and good-bye to an amazing 4-wheeled lust generator! I am looking forward to the next chapter chapter with your Ferrari killer. Well done.
I currently own a 2017 corvette grand sport. I love it and i bought it when it had 50,000 miles. it now has 63,000 miles but i had some headache with the car but fixed up everything. Driveshaft had to be replaced which costs 2 grand and replaced the magnetic ride for about 1,000 dollars because it was leaking and belt tensioner, belts, and thermostat. Granted i dont know how the last person took care of it but i know it was a really old guy. Other than that i love the grand sport. Obviously if i didnt like it i would have sold it by now hahaha. Awesome video love the honesty!
Very good and honest review of the Corvette C7 GS. It's helpful to know the potential repairs this car could bring in during its lifetime, and that those are expensive. The technical details provided and the discussion on emotional intangibles of driving this car paint a holistic picture. From the review, it seems like this car makes sense on the track only, as on the street this car isn't able to express herself much. The more I watch car reviews, the more I realize Porsches are complete cars. Use it on track, use it on the street, use it as your weekend get-away sports car, it's got it all. And on top of that, highly reliable engineering and arguably the least amount of visits to a doctor. But really, for around US $50-60k C7 GS is an option for someone predominantly looking to track a high-performance car. This could roughly be around 50% of the money you'd spend on buying a similarly used Porsche, and obviously that does not include the expensive repairs this C7 GS might bring up while a Porsche is much less likely to need repairs because of their high reliability. So, its a bit of a stretch for sure when comparing these two holistically, unless you specifically mention you are comparing only the track performance and nothing else. @Savagegeese I don't think it's fair to compare a used Corvette C7 GS to a brand new $200k Porsche and make an argument that this is only 25% the cost of a Porsche without mentioning all the refinement, build quality, reliability, etc. that a Porsche has over the C7 GS. And not to forget, a brand new Porsche will be a) brand new car b) comes with 4 year or 50k miles warranty c) even after the warranty is over will be less likely to need any repairs since it is a Porsche, thereby resulting in savings over the lifetime of the car. So it's not an apples to apples comparison and therefore does not make sense to compare the price. The price comparison is only sensible when the two vehicles are overall similar, otherwise anyone can compare a Toyota/Honda to German luxury cars and say they are only 30% of the cost and hence a value proposition. But we all know how incorrect and out of breadth that is, don't we? Regardless, thank you Jack for good journalism. Appreciate it so much.
I got a White 2019 C7 GS brand new in May of 2020 for 14k under MSRP because everyone was waiting for the C8’s and now they are selling for the MSRP price. It will be my forever car since it was my 66th birthday present and there will be no need for any other car. We love this car and it is not a daily driver here in New England. My daily drivers my whole life has always been pickups or vans.
I almost went with a 2017 C7 GS manual on two different occasions as a dual-duty. Both had higher mileage (40k and 30k) and 3 owners. 58k and 66.5k respectively. First car had questionable history with 20k miles missing from Carfax and second car was overpriced. I went with a 2021 Mustang Mach 1 Handling Pack. More practicality, cheaper w/ warranty, just-right gearing, still track-capable, V8, manual. Though you can say the same about the SS 1LE. Would love to see the channel put out a video on the Mach 1 Handling Pack on street and track.

I also felt the same when I was trading my 5th gen Camaro ZL1, the Shelby did not had any torque feeling below 4000 rpm, it felt lifeless, instead I got a C7 Stingray Z51. It felt more powerful like my ZL1.

People who track Porsches just have too much $ to burn and aren’t interested in maximizing time on track (lower running costs = more tires/track days for the same $). If you want to track, get a corvette, but don’t buy one hoping it’s some classic that will be worth a crazy amount of $ some day.
C7 & C8 are my favorite designs.
I agree, there’s something about the styling about this car. It’s definitely at the final stage for that era of corvettes
Everyone has an opinion. I own a C7, and I love it. The C7 is the best looking of all the Corvettes, and does all I need it to do. To each his own...........I'm here to live my life for me, and not for anyone else or their opinions.
I had a c7 and c8. Loved both but I am shocked by how much I still think the c7 looks great.
A manual shift C7 Corvette GS will always be sought after. Last of a kind.
Watching Jack review his own car tells me I need counseling on how OBSESSED I am with my own love for cars. Great job guys.
I love this channel so damn much. It's so hard to find critics of ANYTHING who have relatable sensibilities, let alone cars. Y'all are great.
Thanks man. We try our best to find the right balance.
@@bassfan71 Front lip scrapes a lot…
I think it looks better than the C8. Probably my fave in looks since the 70s.
That 76 STINGRAY was LEGIT. FAVORITE TOY TOO GROWING UP
In my opinion the best looking version of the modern Vettes. Love the proportions and style from all angles.
Except the butt....looks too much like a damn Camaro! And yes, I owned a 2019 GS. Parked it so I walked toward the front.
then I read the rest of your comment...
@@pauljeitler7678 same 😃

@@pauljeitler7678 : Yep, me too
I have a C7 Z51 as my daily driver and I always take the top off whenever I can, because...why not?
Well said. Never been a corvette guy, but these make me want to take the plunge now that they are getting more affordable
I dunno I blew at least 4 of these up at track days.
That's fn awesome
Same here except in Colorado through the snow!
Jack, with a really solid two-car setup: GR86 and C8 Z06. Nice send-off for the C7, looking forward to the C8 ownership vids!

You Guys are in my first 5 cars reviewers in the Market.
Keep it up and please continue with this great work.
I look at the C7 as an attainable dream car. It does a lot of things well and what shocked me when I rode in one is how comfortable it is. Firm without being harsh and comfortable seats if you stick with the stock seats.
C7 corvettes were the pinnacle of corvette design... beautiful...
This takes long term reviews to another level
Hopefully this information was helpful.
C7 will go down as a classic and perfectly designed car to end the Corvette front engine models.
The C7 looks soooo good.
I vastly prefer the looks of my c7 gs to my c8z
I'm super pumped for you to have a C8 Z06 Jack, I bet you're going to love the shit out of it and appreciate it.

I always loved the look of the C7, I am tempted now…
Congrats on the upcoming purchase Jack, super happy for you that you can swing it, that's awesome at your age!

I personally think the C7 is the best looking vette. I really like the removable glass top and the rear window shape is awesome.
Its a tremendous car. I came from a 15 pp gt mustang(which was also on apexs) i didnt regret moving to the c7

Great summary of the ownership experience. Bang on with the various maintenance items. I miss my GS. From Vancouver to LA road trips to bothering P cars at track days, it did it all shockingly well. I will be watching the used market in a few years hoping prices drop!

Ha, I made a similar comment somewhere above. First time in 50 years that I’m somewhat tempted to look at one.
The C7 is the last bastion of a by-gone era. R.I.P. Viper 😢
I thought the C6 was a much cleaner design, the C7 never grew on me
@@666cemetaryslut I definitely agree, Jonathan.

Scary powerful
Agile on track
Purely violent in nature
Long slung hood with a F YOU style V8.
What year did they upgrade the Camaro?
How many miles on your C7?
Yes, you can still get the suspension firmware upgrade. Just did it on my '15 Z06. Great video :)
Great to hear its still a option
Look into the DSC sport controller. It's amazing. Keeps the rear more planted and smooth enough to drive track mode on the street
I just went to the corvette museum in bowling green this past weekend and I've never wanted a corvette more than I do now. The museum delivery is an absolute no brainer option!
I'll miss the c7 on the channel, great value for money, but I'm excited to see the Z06.
Jack lacks the appropriate testosterone to remove the top.

Excellent video content. Thank you for all the relatable and insightful information.
Well done.
Jack’s track driving skills seem to have improved 🎉

Thank you for this update/final C7 Corvette video, been waiting patiently for it
I got a White 2019 C7 GS brand new in May of 2020 for 14k under MSRP because everyone was waiting for the C8’s and now they are selling for the MSRP price. It will be my forever car since it was my 66th birthday present and there will be no need for any other car. We love this car and it is not a daily driver here in New England. My daily drivers my whole life has always been pickups or vans.
Shout-out to Mark holding it in. I get nasty motion sickness too, unfortunately!
Great video! The interior dash bubbling issues were only on the 3LT trim for anyone concerned.
5 sets of tires in 30k miles! Holy shit. Im on 30k miles on my econobox tires and still have probably double that to go
Track miles tho. I can understand the west being soooo shitty heh
Tracking will take down rubber
@@kentsinclair um, is racing not an international sport? Why are you trolling?
I was just surprised thats all the mileage they could get out of 5 sets of tires. I think racing is highly enjoyable if you are a car person, i would just not do it too often
Corvette man at the end, just a perfect way to round the video out.
Since the LC500 is too far away from me in terms of cost I may be picking up one of these soon.
I feel very different about the Targa top. I definitely enjoy it off and don’t mind stowing it. I’m used to the huge hassle of removing the freedom tops on a JKU Wrangler
I test drove one of these once and it felt so much better to drive than the Shelby GT350 models. I sure wish I could pick up a new Z06!
I also felt the same when I was trading my 5th gen Camaro ZL1, the Shelby did not had any torque feeling below 4000 rpm, it felt lifeless, instead I got a C7 Stingray Z51. It felt more powerful like my ZL1.
