- In this detailed tutorial video, join me on a troubleshooting odyssey with a Whirlpool machine where the water pump would not stop running. After exploring and replacing nearly every electronic component without success, the proper solution proved elusive. It wasn't a wiring short or a faulty electrical part; the real problem was a high-pressure condition in the pressure line leading to the pressure transducer. Discover how a straightforward removal of the line obstruction solved the issue. This video is perfect for DIY enthusiasts and homeowners looking to save time and money by efficiently getting to the root of appliance problems.

My pen name is Cal Kasheau. Hey, I'd like to shamelessly promote my literary accomplishments while I have your attention. I have several short story titles on Amazon; the links are below. Some are humorous, some reflect events in my life, and some are legends I heard of as a child in the swamps of Louisiana. They are only a dollar or two, and most are free with a Kindle unlimited membership. I hope you will take the time to read one or two and give me your honest opinion in the comments on whether I should continue pursuing a side gig as an author.

Great job finding the problem. Your shop is looking good.
Thanks Shane. I’m almost finished with the way I want it. Just have to get it done a bit at the time.
Thanks for the video!
Tricky problem, sorry you got fooled for awhile.
This should be very helpful for the next guy!
Thank you for watching!
Nice troubleshooting & the shop is coming along nicely as well ... Thx
Yeah, it shouldn’t be too much longer and I’ll have it the way I want it! Thanks for watching!
Thank you mr chip
You are most welcome. Thanks for watching!
That sneaky booger!!! I keep a hex drive drill bit in my gear just for those. 3/32 or 1/8”, can’t recall. Fits into my little 1/4” ratchet/bit driver and makes quick work of that. I’ve only used 2 or 3 times in 8 years, though. 😂
Thank you for another great video!
I’ll be getting one of those. Thanks for watching another one!
I have been a repairman for over 40 years I have had this happen twice so it is not something that happens all the time It is probably happens more with the VMW washer Thanks for the video. I am retired but still enjoy repair videos Joe from Idaho
Thanks Joe! I hope I don’t forget this and go through the same thing in the future . Thanks for watching!
Also happens in front loaders Whirlpool family
@@HarperandKnowles I also am a retired washer and dryer guy, only had this happen once, and I enjoy watching your videos , it's much easier on the knee's than the real job
Lol, I do spend a lot of time on my knees. Almost as much as I did as a kid playing marbles! Thanks for watching!
What does the wiring diagram tell you? If you leave the pump, what is next in line? All the way back to the control board. The question what on that machine is telling the pump to turn on? I watched to the end, and it was the water level control switch. Mystery solved. Good job.
Some of these problems prove to be very challenging. Once you get one idea in your head it’s hard to convince yourself you’re wrong. I was convinced that a short was sending power to that pump. Thanks for watching!
Thanks!
It was great talking with you Shawn. Thanks for the donation!
@@HarperandKnowles mr. Knowles, you don’t know how much I appreciated your help every time I call you. I’m gonna donate I just wish I could donate more. They only allowed me the option of $15 if you could tell me how to, but I sure will. God bless you, sir and thank you for being there for people like me
To clarify that I donate more if you tell me how

I'm working on the same washer. It will fill with water agitate but no spin. I changed the lid switch. Now the water inlet solenoid stopped. Always something.
It may be a problem with the cold water valve. All rinses are done with cold water. If you do a wash on warm or hot it will wash but stop on the rinse cycle. Try testing your water valves using the diagnostic test mode. I have videos showing that. If the cold valve doesn’t open or is slow flowing it will stop and pump out on rinse cycle. Thanks for watching!
I had a Frigidaire Gally dishwasher beat on me. The answer was that the pressure switch failed, and the machine overflowed and dumped into the plastic base, which has a float switch. When that float rises, it makes the pump kick on. Turn the machine on, and the pump starts pumping. Vacuum out the water in the catch basin, and replace the pressure switch that tells when the machine is full. Problem solved.
Glad you figured it out! Thanks for sharing!
