Used to tell my friends your going to miss Cena when he’s gone and they all do.
Naahh Wrestling is better today than it ever was with him.
Everyone is missed when they're gone.
I am frigging don't... he was the consolidation champion for the last 15 years of hell this industry went into... same with Randy Orton...
nah, super cena era was awful during the 2010-2012. He was pushed so many times with the same boring matches where he gets beat 90% of the match, gets up, hits AA and wins.
Not me... I miss Jimmy Wang Yang.
John’s right. There’s not enough trial and error to get Theory’s character to where it needs to be for him to be looked at like the next Cena. He has all the potential and tools but it feels like something’s missing.
something's missing on theory, maybe that ruthless attitude need?
not only that they booked him wrong and make him look weak like for example cashing in on us title???
Reminds me of drew when Vince coined him as the chosen the fans seem to want people to earn it rather than hand picked which is fair
Been saying that for the longest, nothing against the dude himself, but the Austin Theory character to me never had any substance to it. We were just told that he had upside from fans and wwe kayfabe but I personally don't see it.
I have this theory that the WWE sabotages certain people on purpose to test their loyalties.
What I have a BIG issue with is Cena calling out Theory in that promo, so Austin pins Cena, in a bit of a passing the torch moment, at Wrestlemania. Theory should have had his moment the Raw after Mania. Give him a 10 minute segment, or a celebration segment, where he brags about pinning John. What happened? Austin had a meaningless match against Rey. What is worse is the story behind it was still Dom Vs Rey. Had nothing to do with Austin. Now, Austin can say screw it, and give himself a moment, but if creative says no, what else can he do?
What did he do after that match
Cena is right tho. Theory doesn't have passion. This just me. I feel like theory doesn't care for the business. He just care for the fame.
@@shortymtz4658 Not many have the passion Cena once had though...LOL
@@shortymtz4658nah he cares watch his origin story but he and so many others seem to struggle in finding a character because it’s hard he’s only relying on his looks and athleticism we need more
Wasn’t a passing of the torch moment at all lmaoo. A passing of the torch moment is the older more established superstars putting over the younger ones and making it believable.. Theory was biting Cena’s hand, ear and low blowed him..
My thing with Theory is that it all feels very rushed…
It feels as though there’s a huge rush to have Theory as the finished product for WWE as soon as possible…
When in reality, every single superstar that has come up in WWE has spent YEARS developing before they reach superstardom
& as Cena said, there must be failures on that path… because each time you get knocked down, you learn a new lesson & can step it up a notch next time
Preach!
I grew up on the OVW class of Cena, Lesnar, Orton, and Batista and its such a nice thing for me at 28 yrs old to see all of these guys being so genuine and honest outside of the ring.
Same I’m 25 and the ruthless aggression era 2005-2009 was amazing
John Totally buried Austin. Anyone that thinks otherwise is ignorant, imo. Think about that promo John did He said something like, "iI doesn't matter if you beat me or if you lose, you will lose no matter what. They still won't care about you." Dude, why did John say that promo? I wasn't think that until Cena said that. Honestly, If Cena would have said something cool about the dude, raised his arm or something, it would have possibility put him over. Cena CHOSE not to put the guy over. It is right there for the world to see.
Calling someone ignorant when your acting like the guy was over to begin with when he wasn't. 😂
@@Undacted3theory was 100% in a better position before the Cena debacle.
@Pictoagega47 Was he? Why wasn't he over then? He bowed to pressure that's not good when you want to be the best.
John cena is just so humble. I’m telling you people considered what he said about theory a burial when deep down if that was anyone else it would have been a totally different scenario. John has always been treated so unfairly by wrestling fans and most of those people are old people lol its crazy.
its a mentor approach, im sure he had his leaders break him down.
It's jealousy. He wants to be young again.
@@NoNonsense77 that's not the case at all

@@NoNonsense77 , no what you said is a contradiction to your name the fuck does Cena honestly have to be jealous of?? When compared to theory
"I don't want to be talked about generations for now"
"I am a pawn in the chess board"
THIS IS WHY CENA IS A LEGEND. HIS HUMILITY 👏
The thing with Theory is the penny has not dropped on his persona yet. He is the young hot gun making his way, which makes sense for now.
But at some point he has to become what he needs to be. It happened with Cena, Rock, Austin, Edge, Miz etc. He will need to find his version of the 3:16 promo moment.
My gripe with him is theory's character is that he's overly arrogant and entitled. If he didn't care so much about or hell kicked it back a notch or fucking showed a tiny bit of compassion then that contrast would hit hard.
At end of the day. It isn't about having 5 star matches. It is about can you get fans to care boo or cheer and sell tickets and put butts in the seats
Exactly. Even more today when it’s all high spots. The side kick used to be sweet chin music, a power bomb was the jackknife. A stunner was a stunner. The ddt was the end. The only times moves like these were kicked out of was during a big match at Summerslame, Wrestlemania, King of the Ring. Now these moves aren’t even high spots, just a regular moves. Story telling in the ring is a lost art. Don’t try to brush off a straight kick to the head as a normal spot, but then try to sell some acrobatic move that doesn’t even look like it hurts as a finisher. Not even going to mention the lame storylines.
And this is why AEW has grown bland and is struggling to grow/maintain an audience. Their stories are paced poorly (often with laaarge gaps between angles), their main promotional videos are exclusive to UA-cam where only the hardcore fans are really seeing them, and their matches contain the same maneuvers as the match prior and the match after will have.
At the end of the day, WWE is producing an overall better & balanced product.
@@minimalchill I don't think it's gotten bland whatsoever. That's incredibly cap. "Struggling to grow/maintain an audience" WHAT???
It is about having 5 stars matches though. Your "all time greats" had to put on other worldly in ring work to get over.
@@Izaan2810 wrong
Dude, what cena said was scary accurate after wm now look at theory what is he even doing, before wm he had potential and was making a noise now it's like what major storyline is he involved other than MITB
that's the thing about guys like Cena. Regardless of how the match was at Mania, his presence was responsible for making Austin feel relevant. The sad part is that Austin's run hasn't been very memorable so far if you take the Cena feud out (which itself was very short). I hope something happens with his character. He's an awesome talent, but he's gimmick is just not getting over.
I love Austin Theory. I hope he can be the next big thing for this company. His potential is crazy. Can I see him as a face? Idk, but something needs to be done to shed light on his character
If he can get his entrance over, I feel like he can get it over as a face. They did a tour overseas earlier this year and they were singing his music. I think he could get going
That Cena promo to Theory is like 1985 by J Cole. It wasn’t a diss, it was advice.
5:28 perfect last note 😂😂😂
that sounded like a rib on Roman Reigns, for saying that line 🤣
A similar conversation happened between Randy Orton & Angel Garza. Randy Orton seemed aggressive by the approach but he wanted to motivate Garza.
As they should be. Once they retire it’s up to the new guys to keep the ship going
Cena seriously knows the business. He’s gonna have a cooperate position in WWE at some point. He is so damn knowledgeable in such a great way.

Wtf is wrong with you people? Cena was selfish af n buried him six feet under
If you aren’t a fan of Theory post-Wrestmania with John, y’all will never be satisfied. This is not a situation of “know-it-all” syndrome. He believes in the person but not the gimmick. He wants the person to succeed, and that all comes with the story they are telling. How long was Roman supposed to be the “Big Dog” until they got bored with it. When John dogged Roman during that contract signing, it was an incredible flashpoint for his career. That’s not just because of John, but it helped that a legend like John cared enough to push the person (more of the mindset of leading the horse to water more than forcing it to drink). Theory is so talented but are like most Superstars who are free riders of what John helped build in the modern-era of WWE. Not that Theory is entitled, but there is less of a sense of urgency to be successful and have that “expendable” mindset that keeps you in this business for a long time. Just because you are relevant does not mean long term success. John is showing others how to be sustainable. Booking Theory moving forward is going to be incredible because he knows what it takes to be with the likes of a John Cena, Undertaker, etc. I always attribute to exchanges like John and Theory to a situation like Kareem and Micheal Oliwakandie. Kareem tried to give advice and Oliwakandie brushed Kareem off as an “old head”. Oliwakandie was talented out the gate but never had the long-lasting career he could’ve had if he stopped and digested advice from others like a Kareem. I respect what John is doing for stars. In front of the camera, he does not do it often, so it should tell you how much belief in the person John has for Theory because John has so much cache in the company that he could easily say “No” to working with Theory and find a different storyline.
Dude acts all high and mighty saying he sees through the most talented young guy on the roster. Then he shows up at Wrestlemania and phones it in. It should have been a career defining moment for A Town Down. Instead Cena shows up not tan and has a crappy match. And the worst part was, Cena should have put him over CLEAN. Screw Cena
This is why Cena would never consider joining AEW. Many of the guys (not all of them) don't grasp this.
Why would he? WWE always pays more and so does Hollywood

Na Roman still evoked emotion, Roman was moving merch. Theory has zero connection when he comes out. Nobody really cares about what hes involved in hes pretty irrelevant. Not all on him, booking needs to give him interesting storylines where he can either sink or swin
John Cena’s character in wwe now might be playing to the crowd and being a joke but he is one of the most respectable people i ever seen and actually deserve to be respected
The issue with theory isn't him it's his booking. It's clear triple hhh doesn't have big plans for him. He keeps facing bobby. He got Kayfabe knocked out by Tyson fury. Cashed in money in the bank on a secondary title and lost.
He lost the MITB because it was a dumbass decision HHH had to clean up from Vince
Plus it helped changed his character from Daddy's boy to Aggressive like, theory is being built up similar to Cena' ruthless aggression gimmick but..a bit better
In the moment, the cash in was awful, but you can’t tell me Austin theory had elevated his game from a year. Cause he definitely has. I didn’t watch raw as much, but when Austin came out, I was like this guy has the looks but tf is his character. Now look what’s he’s become after the briefcase.

@@BadManRiRi He was booked that way because he drew money for WWE. Also many fans don't give a flying, flippity FUCK about the movesets in a fake sport. The Rock has the People's Elbow, even as a little kid who thought WWE was real, I always was suspicious of that move, yet, I was captivated by Dwayne's shtick. Roman still basically has the same moveset as in 2017. Yet he's super over because his CHARACTER changed. That isn't to disrespect in ring work, I took a bump, once inside my school's boxing ring, that shit is hard, I respect it, but fancy moves and athleticism don't get you over. Character does. Cena, Rock, Austin, Hogan, Cody and Roman all had GREAT characters in their prime. (For Cody and Roman their prime is right now, obviously)
@@MrDanny91 Vince kept him around cause John Cena sold a copiously high amount of merch (back in 2016, he was number 1 all-time) and was integral in WWE breaking to the Chinese market. Guys like CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio and Batista, who left WWE long ago talk about how great John was for the company. Yes, he was booed, so what? He drew money, 5 of the top 10 most bought WrestleManias had Cena in the Main event, 2006 (975k buys), 2007 (1,2m buys), 2011 (1,06m buys), 2012 (1,22m buys) and 2013 (1,05m buys). 4th biggest draw in company history, after Hogan, Rock and Austin. He NEVER missed a single date, he represented the company, appearing in Nickelodeon and what-not. Has the most charity Make A Wish appearances for any human being ever. Is being featured in high grossing movies, has released an album which sold OVER ONE MILLION COPIES and also carried the company during 2007's Chris Benoit thing. Just because he was booed doesn't mean he wasn't as over as hell. In fact, he was the one who popularized the "Let's Go, Cena.... Cena Sucks..." chants when he asked half the fans to boo him and half to cheer him back in 2010. Do you think some random ass wrestler would get a reaction as big as Cena's if he did the same thing? Theory is still green. Simple as that
Bottom line is whats happening to Austin is EXACTLY what happened to Cena. Hes going to have a spark eventually and revamp his character. As a fan I see all the potential and talent but I HATE how bland he is.
He got a good start getting rid of the phone selfie bit. He might have the same problem Drew McIntyre had in his first go-round with WWE, where he was Vince's hand-picked next big thing and was just never able to live up to that. It took Drew going away, reinventing himself, and coming back before he got it. Austin might have to go away for a while and hit the reset button on his gimmick. It's hard to change when you don't go away.

HORRIBLE! Shame on all these people sucking Cena off. Theory has been doing a great job, he’s a heel. He’s great as a heel. More than half the roster has ‘weak’ characters. More than half the roster is not believable. Would Cena say that to Bianca? Or Karrion Kross? Come on man, that the definition of being buried.
I mean, saying that to Bianca would just be blatantly false. She has very clearly been a massive success for the WWE already.
Cena right about theory..wwe need to have the guys more natural and just talking have a base line not hitting every line he has something but I sounds so scripted john cena is a natural talker u can feel what he saying and roman finally got there it's natural I 100 percent agree with cena
Cena did right by Austin the same he did with Roman. They learned from those promos.
according to roman he learned from heyman not cena, thats why heyman is standing next to him for, cena helped roman take it more serious though, thats it
While simultaneously sucking all the heat out of the respective matches.
