- In the summer of 2004, I had the opportunity to interview WWE superstar Shawn Michaels. "The Heartbreak Kid" had recently returned to wrestling from a career threatening injury and had accepted Jesus as his savior just two years earlier. However, when I watched what I had recorded, I was dismayed that there was a pronounced audio hum on the tape. I recently found that old mini DV tape stashed in a box of old tapes. After watching the interview for the first time in over twelve years, I decided that what Mr. Michaels had to say was too valuable to keep hidden away. In fact, I was moved by much of what he said and was amazed that I had forgotten how pleasant he was. So, here is that entire interview complete with audio hum and a couple of video glitches. I hope these annoyances won't detract from what, in retrospect, is one of my favorite interviews.

@@jchifos he wrote a book about how he was a bad person and many wrestlers disliked him backstage but he then changed before his 2000s return. I read the full thing so yes he is a changed man and I stand by what I said

I am glad he found his path to peace. It's different for everyone.
I must admit I preferred the old HBK, it was that attitude he had going on which gave him the edge over other wrestlers and made him fun to watch.

@@412StepUp Aye. Totally agree. I'm a convert myself ... and looking back, I always thank God I didn't run into one of those "hey do it this way whydontchya" believers. I'd have taken for the hills. I'd trust the trying sinner any day over the comfortable believer.
Which goes to show the twisted nature of us, the audiences. We applaud nasty behaviour because its' 'entertaining' on stage or TV, even though we wouldn't approve of it in our day-to-day lives.
I did like the old Shawn Micheals of 1980's 1990's but I didn't see much difference with his in ring wok and the DX of the late 2000's.HBK the icon the showstopper and Mr Wrestlemania.
With all due respect tho, i liked him ALOT better when he became a born again Christian in June 2002. I can relate to him better
He’s alive and happy. After what he did to his body both in and out of the ring, that is impressive. You can tell he’s very intelligent in how he speaks.
I’m happy Shawn found peace and happiness. One of my top 5 favorite wrestlers ever and a true inspiration to me and many others.

The friend whom he had a falling out with was Triple H (probably between 2000-2001). And the other friend who called him out on his BS was Kevin Nash.

It's sad the WWE didn't sign AJ Styles in 2006 so AJ Styles and Shawn Micheals could of had a couple of wrestling classic matches.Also Macho man Randy Savage and Shawn Micheals.
Randy wanted a programme with Shawn either in 92 or 93 but Vince said no
Randy and Shawn did have some matches against each other back in 92 or 3
I believe Savage and HBK had matches together in 92 when the WWF was on tour in the UK and throughout Europe. Savage wanted to work a WWF Championship match with HBK at WrestleMania 9, but Vince shot it down!

Shawn Michaels HBK my favorite wrestler of all time.People he was arrogant and had drug problems in the 1990's so cut him a break people.Alot of great wrestlers were arrogant jerks.Heres a list Brook Leaner,Lex Lugar,Macho man Randy Savage,Andre the giant,Jesse the body Ventura and Broser Brody to name a few.Nobody in the history of wrestling has put on more five star matches.The WWE changed when Shawn Retired.By the way he really is a Christian.Im glad wrestling still has two greats wrestling now Chris Jehrico and AJ Styles.

you can tell in 2004, he's still in that "discovery, learning about who God is" stage in being saved. Im in the same situation. I've been saved since 2019 and i'm still on the beautiful journey of developing my relationship with God and learning more about Him :) I know who God is but i dont know WHO HE IS you know?
I know. I'm in that situation now. And I'm so thankful for it. 🙏🏻

I'm not a believer. I'm happy to see a guy like Michaels find peace with himself and become a better man. I happen to believe you can do that without faith or religion, but I'm happy to see it anyway. I have this weird thing I wonder about. No doubt believers will tell me it isn't possible or won't happen, but I'd rather skip all that and ask them to follow along on this hypothetical. I'm sometimes curious about how deeply a person can believe in Jesus, or Mohammed, or Shiva, or any other religion to the point where it's in everything they see, say, and do. Then, if when that person dies, there's literally nothing and their brain just turns off and their body returns to the earth and no soul or memories survive, I wonder if that part of their life was wasted, or if it still held meaning just the same. Sorry to post such a long comment. Thoughts?
Here's my take on religious belief. Even if there is no spiritual life after death, a person's religious beliefs and good deeds still matter. If the person acted in a positive manner, lived an honest, decent life, and helped others, that was time well spent.
I will even go so far as to say that an atheist or agnostic who did good things and treated others well and genuinely tried to be an upstanding person spent their Earthly time well.

@@jesuschrististhelord9937 Islam is not a false religion. It's monotheistic, just like Judaism and Christianity. Hinduism, Sikhism, and Buddhism are all valid faiths as well. I think that all faiths are valid to those who believe in them and we are all God's children.
