That's very common. Most pilots are typically flying in their assigned airframe within 2 years of commissioning into the Air Force. What is rare is the fact that he dropped the Raptor out of pilot training, which takes a lot of hard work and some luck/timing.
He answered one of my burning questions: How fast is this jet? Very fast, it will break the sound barrier. Amazing. I thought that was impossible. The enemies must be shaking in their boots to know that we have a plane that can actually break the sound barrier.
MeesterVegas - The television audience wants to know how fast, they get an answer. If the television audience wants to know how much enemy ass the plane will kick, that’s classified. 😉
I have a question, a reed once that you have to flight at least 5 years in F15 in order to become an f22 pilot, but in the interview he say that he start in the raptor after he graduates from the fighter academy ..so this information wasn't true?.. Greetings from Argentina!
Capitan Pindonga - Some qualifications are always subject to change, such as time in seat. Also not all F-22 pilots come from the F-15. In the early years of the F-22 program, only top rated pilots were selected to fly, now admission is more open. And as with any airframe, pilot selection is partly subject to the current needs of the Air Force. Some won’t have to ask, but any current fighter pilot can request consideration for the F-22.
Most F-22A pilots are new pilots, not transfers from F-15 or F-16. LTC Burke, USMC, said he had the opportunity to fly the F-22 after having been a Horney driver, Navy Fighter Weapons School instructor for 3 years, and the chief pilot for transitioning the Marines getting the F-35. Since they didn't have any F-35s yet, they figured he'd be best served by getting used to the systems in the F-22 before the Marines got the F-35B. He said flying the Raptor was beyond his wildest pilot's dreams, and everything that made it so great were systems that they never talk about. His first month in the F-22 was the best time he said he had as a pilot, followed by 6 months of misery because he was being beat by new F-22 pilots who were barely as old as his entire fighter pilot career using the systems and new 5th Gen tactics of the F-22, while he was using his 4th Gen habits. It took him 6 months to learn new tricks that only a 5th Gen aircraft has before he could be competitive with them, and this is a guy who used to brag about being able to beat students at Top Gun when he was an instructor with his hands tied behind his back.
@@thatoneguy592 Kid you are dumb, the F-22 has never seen combat just bombing runs its never once fired a missile at a enemy jet in a WVR or BVR fight, its not ignorance its knowing facts.
@@thatoneguy592 If the F-22 had of seen real combat fight the US would be the first to start shouting about it. The F-22 is outdated and to expensive to us and lose in a fight.
@@forzaisspeed You feel tough calling someone a kid? Do you feel better about yourself? CLEARLY you dont know what you are talking about. How about do some research and you might grow an IQ point or two. If you knew ANYTHING about the US military you would know that the American people arent told 90% of whats actually happening. The F22 goes on more classified stealth missions than any other fighter jet. By the way since you are a little slow.. Classified = YOU WONT KNOW ABOUT IT. Kid haha. What a joke.
This man is 1 of the luckiest in the world to fly this aircraft. Damn I'm jelly
do they still have the oxygen problem if so i would not fly this thing for money^^
No. AFAIK that was an issue with the flight suit being too tight on the torso, and preventing some pilots from breathing properly.
The reporter wants his balls....I do too.
I'm not gay.
what an amazing career. thank you for your service
I hope you realize that this is a news channel, the pilot can't see what you write
The man started flyin the raptor within 2 years. My mouth is on the floor

You're only four years in the Air Force and you pilot a F-22? God bless America.
The amount of training you go through to become a fighter pilot is absolutely insane.
Not really the F-22 is old and outdated.
@@forzaisspeed lmao, u serious?

Yes if you know anything about the F-22 you would know too.

The F-22 speed is only about 1500mph TMS Mach 1.95.
