Lack of or too much oxygen does not cause coughing. Breathable air or oxygen tanks may pass all quality tests but sometimes the breathing equipment itself is overlooked. For example: plasticizers, i.e., substances added to plastics to increase their flexibility, transparency, durability, and longevity may "out-gas" and may get breathed in by a pilot. In fact when you smell that "new car" smell you are breathing in phthalates (plasticizers) that will lessen over time.

Yes, imagine after serving your country if you had a little bit of a cough!!! As someone who spent 25 years in the infantry with tours to Iraq and Afghanistan, I hope you brave brave pilots somehow find the courage to go on.
Rachel Maxwell the flight suits only prevent the pilot from falling unconscious by squeezing their legs and keeping the blood in their system where it's needed, the reason that there's been health problems is the the f22 wasn't designed right the first time, they would have the oxygen system aboard not letting enough in as it should, this caused the pilot to not get the right amount so that when they are on the ground they aren't breathing right. Being the I flew the A-6 intruder in the navy I had no problems with the oxygen system and that I would only wobble when I started walking because it feels like just getting off of a rollercoaster. The flight suits, or as we call them "G Suits" would prevent us from losing consciousness while pulling high g turns or high g rolls

But I feel the days of manned fighter jets is coming to a close.. Sure they can fix the issue with the oxygen system.. But this will be the norm moving forward as the jets are not going backwards in terms of the demands its putting on the human body trying to control it .. The planes are just so high performance that its us thats the crutch holding them back.. Sad because we all love flying, but I feel its inevitable for the future of fighter jets..
Per protocol, these these pilots had to have been cleared by the military public affairs office and a senior Commander to give this interview. So everything shared here was approved and cleared by the USAF for release to the public. That means there’s no earth shattering scandal being reported here. Sorry.
I'm baffled by some of the ignorance in this comment section. If no one understands the physics behind super sonic jets and the tremendous strain they put on soldiers please don't comment.
Ask a football pro how he goes all geared up. You just don't. You don't need to because you're focused on something very intense and stressful. Plus fuel doesn't last long. Pilots who know they will pull arial fueling on a long mission will possibly wear an adult diaper product but nobody poops.
Those maneuvers they pull in a F-22 literally bend/defy the laws of physics... It makes total sense to me that humans would have some central nervous system issues after flying those insane maneuvers.

The problem has not been solved yet, they just have stopped talking about it. They blamed the vest but the breathing system itself had issues. Also the jet was poisioning the pilots with the stealth coating.
Joey Brown yep and are told to keep shut. Since last time when 2 pilots spoke against f 22 the rest were shown their place by making an example of those 2. They were not just suspended but removed from service and faced a lot of b.s
id remove them too. cant let them fly if they have health issues. id think twice before spouting my mouth to the public. id go to the doctors first and see what they can do or tell my boss whats happening.
HITESH Adhikari Actually the problem has been fixed, it was an oxygen delivery system not the aircraft itself, the system caused the same problem for numerous other aircraft, from the raptor to the USN Training goshawks, and can you provide any proof for the "stealth coating poisoning" pilots?
There has been speculation as to whether in addition to oxygen issues, this could have been due to the high electromagnetic fields from the avionics in the F22. The symptoms of Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity are Neuro-immunological and are varied and the ones described by F22 pilots are typical symptoms. The Bioinitiative Report is an extensive summary and the details on how EMF's disrupt the Blood brain barrier are extensive in the report.
I watched this and I had problems with JP-8+100 And experienced Vertigo Also and suffered bronchitis like symptoms. I eventually was Diagnosed with R.A.D.S.... Well anyways back to the Subject HYPOXEMIA, the lack of Oxygen. In the F-15s their is no Problems with this!! Only because they utilize 2 x10 gal. Oxygen Bottles per ACFT. The F-22 Raptor sucks in Ambient Air though the Jet Intake to the Jet Engines and then to the Pilots Cockpit's Chemical Purification System and then to the Pilots MBU-20/P. Pressure Valves, Micron Filter can fail in regards to trapped O2 and other gases from the Ambient Air that can form Ice at High Altitudes, Extreme Temperature changes in the Air Lines from Engine to Pilots Mask Which can cause Freezing of certain components. You also have High Pressure Air going through a CBRN Carbon Filter which is only for Lower Human Lung Intake Pressure Not Alien Lung Pressure. Of course the CBRN Filters will FAIL do to inline High Pressure Valves Failing... Ever thought about developing Elongated Liquid Oxygen Bottles Systems??? Better yet How about Re-breathers and Liquid O2 Combinations. Also You send the Lab Monkey's up into a High Altitude and expect the Lab Monkey's to Suck O2 out of the The High Altitude Ambient Atmosphere where there is Less O2 MOLECULES and Expect a human to function Properly. And at the same time the 2 ACFT engines are consuming 100+ Ambient Air at the Same time!!! Thus scenario is now Lab Monkey LUNGS vs Jet Air Intake Supply, a Loosing battle for the Lab Monkey's. Example: An MA-IA Start Cart or Huffer Jet Air Intake can Crush a Soda Can figure that one out!!!! And Also Alien technology does not always work on Human Lab Monkeys, were not the Same Species. Jet engines and human lungs don't mix... And if its the G-suit, the Lab Monkey's Lungs should not be Restricted in any way at all except the Head, Arms, Stomach, Hips and Legs. Leave more space for the Lungs INSPIRATORY RESERVE VOLUME.. I think that should take care of things... Simple is Best.
Pilots flying the Blackhawk & Apache helicopters develop back problems because the seats design. The seats are designed with a safety feature to stroke up during a vertical drop to minimized impact on the pilot's spine. To do this, the seat is not reclined but perpendicular to the floor of the aircraft. Unfortunately, this also stacks the pilot's spine causing long term back problems as they fly for hours on end. The pilots rarely complain as it is happening but as they reach retirement, they almost all have cronic lower back issues. The army has fixed this problem by reducing the number of flight hours a helicopter pilot flies. (wink)
Not the same but ...in the French navy thw EOD divers received a new CMD rebreather (CRABE that was the substitution for the DC-55) .... That caused many problems amongst the divers ..all of them fit, used to diving with rebreathers yet many suffered pulmonary problems and many incidents took place (even gass embolisms) .... Design was faulty so they had to do some construction changes and now (supposably) things are fine
Kinda sad how military grade stuff costs so much because they have to fulfill higher standards than civilian grade stuff, and then stuff like this happens. Why was this not tested thoroughly? Needing to hit a deadline for the shareholders?

During the initial years of service, F-22 pilots experienced symptoms as a result of oxygen system issues that include loss of consciousness, memory loss, emotional lability and neurological changes as well as lingering respiratory problems and a chronic cough; the issues resulted in a four-month grounding in 2011.[191][192] In August 2012, the DoD found that the BRAG valve, used to inflate the pilot's vest during high-g maneuvers, was defective and restricted breathing and the OBOGS (onboard oxygen generation system) unexpectedly reduced oxygen levels during high-g maneuvers
The F22 is so powerful that the pilots would have to endure all pain and have a lot of willpower to pull a successful mission.
Lmao still could barely keep down 2cents chinese balloon
@@GTFO_0 The Chinese balloon got evaporated. That proves my point.
@@SteveInLava yeah it's first and last Hit before It gets Retired again
So he had all of these things and he still showed up for work. Thats a professional
That must be what it feels like to chew 5 gum.
This deserves so many more likes.
Shut up 😂
That's not funny.
How could one strengthen their body to function under those conditions?
Live mostly in a high altitude low oxygen sealed apartment?
It would be better to simply fix the issue with the fighter jet. Which they did. The problem is long gone.
Our bodies weren’t meant to handle that much stress but damn these guys are badasses.
i flew in a c-27J Spartan once and ended up having these symptoms ever since.. can't imagine what these dudes feel like..
Yes, imagine after serving your country if you had a little bit of a cough!!! As someone who spent 25 years in the infantry with tours to Iraq and Afghanistan, I hope you brave brave pilots somehow find the courage to go on.
No oxygen will cause anyone to feel like that
Has hyperbaric treatment been tried for rapid replenishment of oxygen in the body right after flight?
PAO cooling fluid is leaking into the OBOGS and the pilots are breathing it in. ☠
Has there been an investigation concerning these symptoms?
The militairy is not the best place to be OPEN about just anything.
With g-suit on or off?
Haha
Spoke to a Col. He said the problem was with their FLIGHT SUITS.
The pilots were sitting on the oxygen line lol that’s coming from a F22 crew chief
You are absolutely correct, it was their flight suits. There were vaginas found inside of them.
@@snipinmonstaI don’t think that is possible
Saucer design with a floating cockpit. Semi buoyant and maneuverable. Elastic exterior.
Feel bad for these heroes. I can’t thank them enough for what they do for all of us. God be with them.
Issue has been resolved. A long time ago
Heroes? 😂😂😂😂
Heroes is a way too big word for these guys.
Not a single one of them has seen combat
If a "hero" is someone who sells airshow tickets then actors and circus clowns are heroes too
@ScapoloMichael They are still heroes for WILLINGLY signing up to risk their lives or even die incase we are in a time of need
most people arent brave enough to do that, not just in america but on the entire planet
so, it was an oxygen thing... and the AF solved the oxygen supply mystery
SWSimpson My guess is that it could perhaps also been aerosolic chemicals they flew threw ( Chemtrails )... that possibly caused theese short term memory issues and cognitive problems after flying, just as civil passengers and crews reported.
Experienced that too when there was this heavy Chemtrailing over cities!
Must be even worse if they had to fly through that stuff !!
I guess it may have been some bleedair filter detail if the F-22 and others that were simply not prepared !
Just hope that theese have ABC GRM ( Ghosty red mist ) filters!
@@SAINT-ANTONIO Contrails... not chemtrails, you dumbnut.
@@L1nKZALEX yeah. The main issue is the aircrafts frame which use toxic materials. If you look at the engineers that work on the aircraft , they all wear protective equipment
First time it happend, was in Sabres back in 60-
Prolly the most common issue among fighter jets.
The shade from the chain of command had to be coming down hard af on these guys that talked to the press
This happens when you pull extreme G’s.
What your VA rating?
Its becoming increasingly clear that fighter jets have evolved past humans being able to safely pilot them.. The move to computer controled jets aka Drones as they will be probably be known is on the horizon.. I know there already are doing that..
The puplis are very dialated for lights being directly in the face...strange.
My buddy has the same symptoms. He's not a pilot, he's a stoner.
Per protocol, these these pilots had to have been cleared by the military public affairs office and a senior Commander to give this interview. So everything shared here was approved and cleared by the USAF for release to the public. That means there’s no earth shattering scandal being reported here. Sorry.
Seeing what that thing can do I can’t imagine the toll it takes on the operator
why would you go on national tv like this
Because the military ignored them.
Work wears us all down. That’s the nature of it.
My nephew is a fighter pilot right now and I hope and pray he doesn't have any difficulties in breathing
Seems to be related to the F-22 specifically so if he flies that machine make sure he knows.
What fighter jet your nephew flies?
Don't worry they solved all the issues of the F22, remember that this video is 11 years old where F22 had issues during that time.
I sometimes forget how old the F22 is
I'm baffled by some of the ignorance in this comment section. If no one understands the physics behind super sonic jets and the tremendous strain they put on soldiers please don't comment.
evofire115 Soldiers?
Officers*
Airmen don't fly
I didn’t even think about the health problems that come with hitting 7 G’s for years at a time . That’s wild
what if suddenly the pilot needs to poop? or pee? while in the air? how do they do that?
Glenn Aaron they go on special diets
They go
John Doe i mean, like when theyre flying in the air, then suddenly they need to poop or pee, are they just let it go?
Clarence you learn some new things everyday, thanks man
Ask a football pro how he goes all geared up. You just don't. You don't need to because you're focused on something very intense and stressful. Plus fuel doesn't last long. Pilots who know they will pull arial fueling on a long mission will possibly wear an adult diaper product but nobody poops.
Are radar absorbing material toxic ?
Those maneuvers they pull in a F-22 literally bend/defy the laws of physics...
It makes total sense to me that humans would have some central nervous system issues after flying those insane maneuvers.
They literally do not or else the F22 would literally be an out of this universe-plane.
@@kolddkthe thoughts nice but yeh nothing can bend any laws🤣🤣🤣
What causes that?
Ive always been a F22 fan. I loved the design the capability the speed everything about it. I would love to be a F22 but due to my country not having a single one i guess im gonna have to go with the F16
What country are you from?
Nothing is stopping you from coming to America to watch RaZZ fly the Raptor
Ja das fühlt sich an, wie ein krampf der nicht weggeht...
I don't think you can actually complain about anything when you fly a Raptor.
Ingrates
I see Jezza, i like.
Speeeed and powah!
So, what is the reason
I have a lot of these same symptoms. Everything but the cough. I’ve never been in a fighter jet.
Lol same here
For a second there I thought he was describing COVID or COVID vaccine symptoms....lol.
Check the oxygen filters and the O2 being provided according to DOD standards. If improper, waxy buildups can plug filters, etc.
We all have health issues from the various jobs we perform.
I kind of believe it's like a football player that gets hit in the head so many times because your head is getting tossed around by so much torque from these Jets
Bleed air pressurization oil leaks past the compressor seals gets into the air.
blastman8888 its not oil.
After many many exits out the doors of perfectly good aircraft, my back and knees are killing me. Nuff Said
The problem has not been solved yet, they just have stopped talking about it. They blamed the vest but the breathing system itself had issues. Also the jet was poisioning the pilots with the stealth coating.
HITESH Adhikari they seem fine when I talk to them after flying and they fly at their own risk
Joey Brown yep and are told to keep shut. Since last time when 2 pilots spoke against f 22 the rest were shown their place by making an example of those 2. They were not just suspended but removed from service and faced a lot of b.s
HITESH Adhikari it’s just like airborne for the army you do it get knee or back problems it’s the cost that comes with the job
id remove them too. cant let them fly if they have health issues. id think twice before spouting my mouth to the public. id go to the doctors first and see what they can do or tell my boss whats happening.
Life would never be the same after flying one of those bad boys
We had a lot of pilots on the ship that had monster headaches after flying the F-4B Phantoms also & a lot more things they wouldn't discuss.
Hang in there and you will make 200,000 dollars as a Comercial airline pilot....
Pretty sad that we can’t have the absolute best of the best for our brave vets. Like how do we mess that up
Sounds like a chemical exposure.
That’s exactly what I’m believing.
The 22 was a design from the future !!
One of the most beautifully designed vehicles, in my opinion!
This video is 12 years old.
wtf she wears around her neck?!?1
Army doctors. Give him an IV and 800 mg Motrin.
I watched this and I had problems with JP-8+100 And experienced Vertigo Also and suffered
bronchitis like symptoms.
❤ best comment here 💪🏻 👌🏼 thanks
(wink)
I would still wanna be a f 22 pilot
I mean, that sucks and all, but you got to fly an F-22 😝 that is like the pinnacle of life experiences
I’m surprised they are allowed to speak about it like this.
This ain't nothing. Wait until that piece of crap F-35 starts flying on a regular basis.
It's the best aircraft fighter out there so it's not crap
An old F-15 could overtake a F-35 at close to the speed of sound. Stealth is not everything. And stealth is very easy to overcome with advanced radar.
Oh please "advanced radar" you mean radar advanced enough that it isn't mass-produced and therefore isn't likely to be encountered? Right.
Thomas False on every account, F35 production is still going on
Thomas incorrect the f-22 was cancelled
Sounds like the feeling after a car crash without the coughing
Oh please... you can stop complaining already. You ever flown commerce? That’s some next level stuff 😂
David Bryant commercial* Jesus Christ it’s a joke relax
David Bryant so your one of those types of people. Okay
This should not be known to the public.
That is why unmanned aircraft is the future. The F22 has abilities beyond the capabilities of human pilots.

You better hope that future isnt in your lifetime or we're all dead.
